"Give me your metadata"
- Meta, 2021
Something straight out of Ghost in the shell
Ironically you don't give them metadata, but they are generated from the data you just provide them with. Data alone is useless (let's say a million GPS tracking points over a few months), but making predictions, like where you work, where you're at home, go shopping daily, meet with friends aka metadata (Data generated from data) is gold worth. I think Meta is a really fitting name for something as data-hungry as Facebook and all it's services it built around it.
I actually don't think that AR public content is inherently a bad idea. In fact it has a lot of potential. Californians can wear their AR goggles around town and see a fantasyland instead of the piles of litter, needles and poo.

The way I see it, Zuk wishes to centeralise "the internet" and it is in his benefit to convince people that it is private as to establish a dependancy. I struggle to see the practical benefit of the Metaverse Facebook wants to achieve. The environment argument confuses me as he seems to suggest rendering 3D environments to join meetings or perhaps launch a web browser. I don't see the selling point for a Metaverse as apposed to seperate VR and AR software for the end consumer but I like to assume that the "Metaverse" is not likely to affect us so long as we don't buy into it.

3:28 zuk: I thought I was supposed to be the robot
I like how I got a bleach ad. What a refreshing beverage to go with a video about something like this.
these virtual homes will be compensation for cramming you into a gov. issued shared space apartment where you wont anything.. but you will own virtual items..
You won't even own the virtual items.
you rent your own pod with its ready player 1 immerion rig and neural link cable, it wont disconnect untill your 15 hour shift is up, you get a few miniutes of good boy game time (facebook game store only) and then are injected with 400mg of horse tranquilizer to maximize sleep time. Rinse and repeat.
If you work hard you'll have plenty of items in your inventory
@@w.t.5136 > horse tranquilizer
Why did that come to your mind?
That's literally propaganda against ketamine...
Brave you to think that government will give anything for free after corporations become government there will be no giving anything for free its bad for buissnes
The metaverse is the perfect tool for middle management to track you. No more looking for hentai during work hours. Also unless Zucc releases open source drivers for this I wont even get an Occulus cause that dont work on Linux lol.
Oculos doesn't work on Linux?? Well fuck I guess I'll dual boot
@@aesthetic3355 only windows 10, not 7 not 11 and not macOS or Linux
I think it's great how him trying to "rebrand" is absolutely backfiring on him, and his companies image.
Maybe you don't wear pants during HomeOffice work, but I do :D
Additionally, Zucc looks like he needs to force himself to blink.
I'm starting to think that skynet might have the right idea of eliminating the humans.
The logic here is undeniable. God's solution to our mess is MUCH better though. There's an option for humanity not to be totally eliminated, because He is both just and the justifier.
solid Keen profile pic btw
@@teacon7 I mean that kind of sounds like the same argument the government tries to make but sure
3:20 this is literally the digital area in Psychopass. Did Zucc think that Sybil was the good guy in that show?
Lol same I was thinking
I see you haven't committed any crime yet but our system says you have a 90% chance of committing in the next 5 years, so we arbitrarily decided to get rid of you here and now.
@@orionroberts1253 are you alright? I'm doing a reference to the show the comment above stated, called Psychopass. It is about a dystopian society where there is a system which can predict the odds of a person can commit a crime based solely on arbitrary prerequisites even before the said person commit anything, which it's illegal. The police in the show literally kills or arrest citizens based on the system's choices without a chance of defence.
Misinformation really is the plague of this century.

The best meta verse was in Summer Wars, because it shown how one security fault utterly destroyed the infrastructure of the world's businesses and causing utter chaos
Nice revival of the ceiling cat meme.
He would look so much less like a robot if his hair didn’t look painted on
Taking the workplace into the comfort and privacy of peoples homes and typical western ("diverse") human designs with no attractiveness whatsoever. - Metaverse
When he said "But I though I was suppose to be the ROBOT" I recoiled with laughter
i wonder who had the balls to convince him to put that line in there
You're RIGHT.
VR workspace in their vision is a HUGE distraction. Imagine focusing in your work and your workmate wears a virtual briefs?
