Man, I don't know if you're gonna see this, but I would like to THANK YOU! I was almost giving up trying to make this work after so many tries... My raspberry was crashing emulation everytime and the n64 games didn't show up after the USB method I tried on other videos... I decided to fresh start from zero following your steps I now it's working at its finest. You made someone's inner child happy again. THANKYOU so much!

For large collections much easier to have two SD cards one with retro pi one with any pi desktop you want boot to desktop transfer files directly into games file can also be done with Linux file system for Windows any distro you wish
N64 and PS1 games are not showing up... for some reason neither are Atari games...?
I've tried flashing on RetroPi v4.7 with Raspberry Pi Imager on on pi4(4GB). I successfully flashed it on my microSD but when I put the SD card into my pi, plug in the micro HDMI - with converter for my monitor - there is no video signal. The red light is on my pi, but there's not video signal. I tried reflashing again, with the same result. Any ideas?? :(

etropie i cant get past that screen and subsequently; into retropie through my pc. I run windows 10, latest update, raspberry pi is also updated and ready to go. What could be the problem? Raspberry or my pc? Any idea how to solve it?
Edit: i found a way around that, used my old laptop and I could access it immediately. Weird, but if someone has same issue, I guess the solution is to try another pc.
Just configured an xbox 360 controller but when I play playstation games, the analog stick does not work, only the d-pad. Ideas?
So I'm new to this whole pi Linux thing. Do I have to dedicate a whole pi computer to the retro pi OS simply for playing games or is there a way to run games within Raspbian?
A) you don't even need 4Gb for retropie so everyone should save there money on a cheaper pi
B) you really don't need to format your cards in imager and with the new update you can save more time by dealing with the overscan and WiFi before writing the image. Just so you know but you're doing good stuff and please keep up the good work

When transfering ps 1 games,just drag and drop bin and cue files,there is no need to create a new folder for each ps 1 game (bin and cue)?
Just bin and cue is fine on their own. And a micro hdmi to hdmi cable is better.
So how do you get the n64 to not be a tiny screen at the bottom left hand corner? Because it doesn't respond to resolution changes for me. Also your description could've lead with your pi version because experimental plugins crash the pi 3 though are in fullscreen on n64.

Amazing but I have a problem with mine whenever I try to play paper Mario it just shuts off
The issue I have is when I load any game on my retropie, the audio alone just starts crackling and doesn't stop. This happens for every system and the only solution I found is to adjust the latency in retroarch menu to 74 everytime I launch a game and wait for the audio to fix. I've looked around and nobody has this same issue. I'm very confused.

you can buy a micro HDMI to HDMI cable. That's what I use
whenever i launch a game it exits back to the game list screen and freezes
What emulator are you using? And what Pi 3 or 4?
@@TwinCherryStudio pi 3 and nintendo 64 it also happens when i set up wifi and go back to the config screen
@@tomasvaneynde372 Ok there's a few things you can try. First is to make sure the resolution is at it's lowest. Pi 3 doesn't work well with 1080p on N64. So when it launch. Press A on your controller and change the resolution and default emulator. Second try a different game. 3 change the graphics memory in config from 64mb to 256mb. And Finally Use a different emulator. I think the best plugin for pi 3 is rice. but I may be wrong. I'll check my old videos on it
