STOP THE PRESSES!!! YOU ARE SO VERY SMART! WHY DID I NOT THINK OF THIS...YOU SAVED ME FROM PURCHASING A TOOLBOX FROM HOME DEPOT OR SOMEWHERE...FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great idea!!! I love them. I am an aide in a SDC class and I am helping my teacher with a bunch of things. This would be perfect for his classroom. Also in my office at home. Looks like I have some DT shopping to do. Have a great day!!!
thank you ! thank you! thank you! i'm glad i saw this video when i did - i went quickly to 2 of different dollar trees and got a ton of these. I can't wait to make mine
This idea is perfect. I don't think it was a fail. I was definitely thinking of doing this, but spraying mine. Krylon is best for plastic. Great idea! Thank you for sharing this. I'm recreating it for my classroom! Going to get some today!!
I love this idea. Ok so I might have went overboard. LOL I made one for school/office supplies, one for my hair stuff-barrettes, bobby pins, hair ties, rubber bands, etc.; one for a first aid kit- band aids, neosporin, carmex, inhalers, medical tape, visine, tweezers etc.; I'm currently working on one for games- regular cards, uno, old maid, dice, etc. I have been thinking about doing one for cake decorating supplies too.
I have found that so long as you have a great top coat sealant any type of paint will work wonderfully. Thank you for sharing this, I've been thinking about doing this type of thing for my home :)
❤️ this! Better go to dollar tree again! Lol I was thinking gold would be nice too. 😜 thank you for sharing. I love these boxes and was thinking what can I do with these.
Hi there, love the idea. I have one of those small teacher toolboxes and I was looking to get a bigger one but this honestly looks much better and cost less. Thank you. JJ
I love this! I have wanted a Teacher toolbox but what stopped me from buying is I always felt the drawers are too small! I love how deep the drawers are. I’m going to try it and let you know how it turns out! New subbie here! 🥰
I like this idea very much! I like the spray painted on with the colors showing through, I have found that you need to prime plastic before you paint it for better adhesiveness.
Hey! Thanks for sharing this amazing resource. I have been participating in many Dollar Tree DIY's this summer based on the endless possibilities. I have gone ahead and started creating that toolbox you made in your video. I went ahead and created some labels that you could easily insert in the front of the drawers like the toolbox labels people have made. Granted, mine are a little more serious... I teach high school English, but I am sure anyone could edit and customize the labels to suit their needs. Would love to share my end result once I am done making my toolbox. Thanks for sharing your ideas and thoughts! Stay awesome! :D
If you want to spraypaint plastic you need a primerspray for plastic. To save this one, maybe you could use a spraypaint varnish? But i love this idea! Could be handy for all my art supplies ^^
Do you know if these are available throughout the year or just during the back to school season? I want to build this and have found the red, blue and purple at a distant store, but no green and my two local stores never had them.
Hi, It would be fantastic for me. I am a crafter and I could put so many small items like gem, sequins, embellishments, paper flower, beads, craft blades, glue pens, sticky pads and more. By using E6000 and hot glue the hot glue will grab and hold the drawers together whilst the E6000 dries. Thank you for the inspiration.
This was my same idea I been wanting to start crafts but I keep thinking I need a place to keep everything!!!! Now all I got to do is to find a way to baby proof it any ideas? PS when I mean baby I really mean toddler that's three years old and about four feet tall and is already learning kindergarten stuff so more like baby genius proof lol
The hot glue isn't needed but it does help because e6000 takes a while to dry. the hot glue just helps for a quick bond while the e6000 is for the long term.
love all 3, like the imperfections on the white one, too, but that is me, when I look for things like that it gives its on personality if that makes since when doing my deck look for the knotty holes in the wood my brother -n-law say I'm nothing like my sister, she still complaining about a board he put in the wall that is covered, will they are all beautiful, tfs
Super cute. I did something very similar to this. Did you know that you can take the “Lid” off of one and then the next set will snap right onto it? Great job!
Great idea but dont care for the write on look id rather have a sticker you print off or a label with a label maker also we do this concept with a tackle box
STOP THE PRESSES!!! YOU ARE SO VERY SMART! WHY DID I NOT THINK OF THIS...YOU SAVED ME FROM PURCHASING A TOOLBOX FROM HOME DEPOT OR SOMEWHERE...FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
They're stock able. If you have multiple ones of 1 color; just take off the top piece of all but one, than stack.
Maybe even use velcro strips on the side so you could change it up if you want
It's Monday, what a beautiful day. Thanks for sharing.
What a FABULOUS idea! So many colors you could spray paint if you choose. But I love the rainbow one!
I went to 5 dollar trees today looking for the drawers. The last one we went to had some! I am so in love with my new toolbox!
I love dollar tree 😍
Great idea!!! I love them. I am an aide in a SDC class and I am helping my teacher with a bunch of things. This would be perfect for his classroom. Also in my office at home. Looks like I have some DT shopping to do. Have a great day!!!
I actually really love the way the colors show through the white one. Great idea those will be really useful!
You are going to be SO organised when school starts! These turned out great - thanks for showing us

I love this video! I might even try to do it!
If you mess up with Sharpie, take a dry erase marker and rub over it and the Sharpie should come right off if the surface is shiny or plastic.
casq882 thank you! I did not know that!
casq882, hand sanitizer removes it as well.
Great idea!!! What type of glue did you use?
I'm going to make one for my crafts, thank so much for sharing this DIY...I've never seen it before ! :0)
Just love it 😍
Love your channel
Using a bungee cord or strap to bind them all together would be a great way to hold them together while they are drying
Love it! I wonder if you could wrap the white one in contact paper?
Amazing project
I really did like the white one
Do you know if these are available throughout the year or just during the back to school season? I want to build this and have found the red, blue and purple at a distant store, but no green and my two local stores never had them.
What is brads?
Freda Tricey Jones brads are used to hold papers together, similar to paper clips or staples.
Great DIY! Thank you for sharing. Where did you purchase the gold baskets that are displayed on your shelving unit?
Hi, It would be fantastic for me. I am a crafter and I could put so many small items like gem, sequins, embellishments, paper flower, beads, craft blades, glue pens, sticky pads and more. Rustoleum makes a spray paint for plastic. I've used the silver metallic & flat black with good results.
Love !!!!!! Tyfs

Do we know if DT still sells these drawers?!
I m going to try this diy. Thanks
I went to two Dollar Tree Stores near me and neither of them have these drawers. I'm hoping they get these sooooon!!!! (I
That would be great for cake decorating stuff!! Tips, sprinkles etc. Thanku
So how much did it cost?
Lilly xsx $8 if she used 4 on top and 4 on bottom. She already had the glue
what glue did you use again?
It's called E6000.
How many can i get and what glue can i use?
Can I use nail glue?

Super cute. I did something very similar to this. Did you know that you can take the “Lid” off of one and then the next set will snap right onto it? Great job!
Thanks for chsring? Love the white one. Saw someone spray paint the big stack of drawers on wheels in gold? It was so pretty.
Maria Robinson - ooh! I love that idea! I have a can of metallic gold paint that is good for plastic. I am going to look for these little drawers! ❤️😊
I like this idea but, would like to find drawers that can hold regular unsharpened pencils. Thanks, you gave me a couple of good ideas.
I don't know if you know this but you don't have to glue them on top of each other just take the top off and they click together
I bet you could even print in your favorite font and then trace over it for the labels!
What is 'Jlue' or 'Ilue'? Is that 'Glue'?
Second row from the bottom, first drawer from the left.
I went to 3 dollar trees and none had them. :(
ok!
I don't think the hot glue is necessary with e6000. That stuff is amazing.
Great idea but dont care for the write on look id rather have a sticker you print off or a label with a label maker also we do this concept with a tackle box
I was thinking of using my Cricut for the labels. It's still a great idea!
