    I’ve been struggling with recurring BV for 5 years…..at this moment I don’t care if I smell nothing helps DR KEEP GIVING ME SAME THING WITH NO RESULTS WHATS SHOULD I DO????

    • @myvdiary

      Hi Hi :) you may want to try a combination approach of antibiotics (vaginally), boric acid suppositories and then continue a maintenance regime for a few months. Many specialists recommend a long term treatment strategy. while youre doing this you can also try supportive measures including probiotics, cranberry supplements, immune boosting supplements, and look at lifestyle, sexual and hygiene modifications. I would also explore the vulvo-vaginal obgyn experts in your area...

    I’m trying acupuncture in a couple weeks. What did you tell your acupuncturist about your condition and is there a specific acupuncture treatment that helped you? Just wondering what to say on my first appointment. I would love the same results you’re having. I’m suffering the same issues as you. Thanks!

      Hi There- I would be completely honest and say you are struggling with recurrent vaginitis (yeast, BV, whichever your symptoms are). I would mention hormones or menopause. Be specific and detailed. I was very explicit with my symptoms. this allows the practitioner to target certain meridians, pathways, and increase blood flow to the pelvic organs (i receive needles all over my pelvis, close to the pubic area as well. They can also recommend Qi balancing herbs, antifungal or antibacterial herbs and teas, and also some bathing herbs to calm the tissues. Hope this helps.

    I have recurring bv. Boric acid antibiotics nothing works . I started Utiva cranberry packs and probiotic but afraid nothing works. What should i do

      Hi there- please do not lose hope. Sometimes some fine tuning and tinkering with the right approach is required. I know it seems very discouraging. Recurrent BV can be helped often by a combination of boric acid, antibiotics (vaginally) probiotics (vaginally) and of course lifestyle modification. I would also look at the lubricants, condoms and birth control... sometimes semen is the trigger. Bath and body products, soaps and anything you may use internally.
      Sometimes a longer course of treatment to kick the bacteria followed by a maintenance regime is required. Cranberry does have good beneficial effect on the vagina as well as immune boosting. If you are in Canada check out www.intimae.ca for more info on UTI, BV and yeast as well.

      I would add in something to disrupt the membrane of a potential biofilm. try boric acid suppositories after your next treatment of Metronidazole gel vaginally. You can then just try one boric acid capsule per week and see if that keeps things at bay for a month or two.

    If you do the metro gel vaginally, can you follow up with boric acid after day 5 on vaginal gel. I'm allergic to metronidazole pills but not vaginal gel.

    Hi. Can you please advise how many days do you use boric acid after the antibiotic gel?

    • @myvdiary
      @myvdiary  Год назад +1

      You should always run any new treatment by your Gyno. Want to put the disclaimer out that I am not a medical physician. Some literature supports the use of 1-2 capsules weekly for a couple of months after your treatment. You can also take oral antibiotics at the same time as boric acid or try 3 days of boric acid after your antibiotic gel followed by 1 weekly for a few weeks. www.mdedge.com/obgyn/article/145632/gynecology/appreciates-treatment-options-recurrent-bv

    How do you use boric acid long term? Once a week ? Let’s say you finally cured BV now you want to keep it away.. is it safe to use boric acid long term as preventative use or is that bad?

    • @myvdiary
      @myvdiary  Год назад +1

      Hi there- physicians will recommend different maintenance strategies depending on your issue however literature online will often recommend a combined strategy of antibiotics followed by boric acid (or both together) and then the use of 1-2 boric acid suppositories a week for a couple of months. then you may only need to use one every once and a while or once a month depending on your triggers.
      I don't recommend the use of boric acid everyday as this can be too irritating to the vaginal mucosa.

    Do I take the boric acid at the same time as the topical metronidazole cream?
    Should I also take boric acid a few days prior to taking the antibiotic so that the biofilm is destroyed prior to inserting antibiotics?

    • @myvdiary
      @myvdiary  8 месяцев назад

      I am not a physician- and therefore cannot give you medical advice. According to medical professionals you can use boric acid and metronidazole together and then continue with boric acid- make sure you have a doctor following your treatment. hope this helps!

    thanks for the vid!!! i took serrapeptase during/after my clindamycin treatment (as i only started reading about biofilms the last minute and serrapeptase is all i had on hand at the time so figure i would try) and since then I've just been doing probiotic suppositories weekly (im 3 months post antibiotics now). is there any point taking the NAC now??? i cant tell if serrapeptase even did anything and im nervous that NAC or other biofilm busters might break any good lactobacilli biofilm i have going

    • @myvdiary
      @myvdiary  Год назад

      @sugaplumalex I wouldnt stress about this. If you have a biofilm issue you will see this present as recurrent infections or infections that do not always go away or recur after you finish antibiotics. NAC helps to remove the biofilm so that your good bacteria can flourish. There is good data for this. If you are still having issues then take the NAC. If you are fine and your infections have stopped then dont worry about it.

    If I have reaccuent bv does my male partner need to get treated also ???

    • @myvdiary
      @myvdiary  2 года назад +1

      Intercourse with an untreated partner has been shown to significantly increase the risk of recurrent BV. There is some evidence that shows that men carry BV-organisms and may be a reservoir for re-infection. That being said..there isn't alot of research on the success rate of treating male partners. There is some literature that shows you could treat your male partner with antibiotics and topical clindamycin for example. It could be worth investigating. Make sure to check with your healthcare provider/doctor of course.
