They've already said that 90% of the stuff available on the FS Market Place will carry over with little to no rework needed, and this has been the case for every version of Flight Simulator. The only tweaks needed are the ones for the new parameters that the new engine will have. FS5 planes worked with FS6, FS5&6 worked with FS7(FS95) FS95 worked with FS98, 98 with 2000, 2000 with 2002, 2002 with 2004, 2004 with FSX, and FSX with P3D, and you can even get FSX planes into MSFS20. The only things them was certain items were not available for the older aircraft if they weren't updated for the new sim.
@@madsib5187 It's simply the way your aircrafts' wheels will react to the ground in the sim. They say they're improving the simulation of it so that it's somewhat closer to the real thing. Hi, how did you get the A310 working again? Mine is not working since SU12 or so, (CTD during loading) it's a common problem according to a lot forum posts.
Microsoft/Asobo have delivered on 2020 in every way. The plethora of updates and additions have been extraordinary and all at no extra cost. It’s an exciting year ahead with the release of 2024 and all it will bring. Thanks again for a fab post 🥳😊
Possible silly question. Can I get clarification about the top gun maverick content? When you said if it’s downloaded you get to keep it, does this mean as long as you’ve acquired the product once, it can be downloaded again in the instance of needing to uninstall the game?
You got it right. It will always be available to you if you’ve ever downloaded it, even if you subsequently deleted it. (ObsidianAnt also says this on his vid)
For me, I believe MSFS2024 will be a day one purchase. However, much like I did with MSFS2020, how much I use it will depend on the availability of getting my favorite payware aircraft like PMDG, Fenix etc. into the new sim. I only moved to MSFS2020 fulltime from P3Dv5 once the Fenix and PMDG 737 were available. But I did spend a lot of hours flying GA in 2020. The really BIG hope for me with MSFS2024 is they'll open up the camera API for developers like //42 and the awesome Chaseplane. While I've managed to get by without in MSFS2020. I'm really hoping MS/Asobo allows for this in the new sim.
Is there still a "Top Secret" update getting ready to drop, because I've seen NO improvement during the beta. As a matter of fact, yesterday's update introduced substantial pauses every 8-12 seconds or so. Also, how good of a strategy is it when the consumer has to drop a $2K house payment on a GPU capable of running this thing in order to look as good as all of the RUclips Streamers who obviously have expendable income due to the never ending commercials we have to endure just to watch a 15 minute flight? Reality is skewed on here for the most part when it comes to MSFS. Top of the line CPUs, GPUs, $700 rudder pedals, $500 sidesticks, $250 tillers, $1200 yokes, etc... Does Asobo believe everyone is a stock broker, lawyer, doctor, CPA? Yes, MSFS has always pushed hardware limits but the economy is much much different today compared to FSX and P3D.
If we kept the basic game and didn't load it up with excessive add-ons, it would work fine with a fairly basic PC. I've got an i7 4600, SSD and an RTX3060. Runs fine with Fenix a320 at med-med/high settings
What I have heard is that 2024 will make better use of the multi core multi thread CPUs available now. 2020 was based off of FSX architecture that used single core chips
The only reason, is that Microsoft need to make money. As you know, all simupdates, worldupdates and cityupdates are for free. Just like they have done before, FS 98, 2000, 2002, FSX.
@@chaophraya8003 1: This isn't a money making thing at all. 2: Releasing a new sim is very much standard for the series 3: This allows them to take all prior updates, bug fixes, and addons, and roll them into one. 4: They are literally condensing the base code to take up less of a footprint on your local harddrive. The original download was 150GB in size and it has since grown to well over 200GB with all the SUs, WUs, AUs, CUs, and if you have any 3rd party scenery and aircraft, you're probably like me and approaching half a terabyte in size.
Good video as usual. Have they mentioned the specs required and the size of the 2024 sim? As for your question I must say that at this point I m not sure if I ll purchase it. Or if I do, when I will. Between the 15 updates since it launched in 2020 and all the other updates of my add on software's caused by the sim s updates I must admit I m getting a little discouraged with flight simulations. I ll be 71 soon and I don t have the same patience I had in 2001 when i started with FSX. It s a good Sim though.
The March Q&A session, Jorg was talking about the FlightFX Vision Jet being a default aircraft in FS2024. He was talking about pulling the current Vision Jet from the Marketplace, because he didn't want someone buying the Vision Jet in September, then later when FS2024 comes out, they are disappointed what they bought is now free. That statement though means FS2024 is later than September. Asobo, like many European companies, has off the last 2 weeks of December for the holidays, so it is unlikely that FS2024 would be released in December. That means an October or November release. I personally expect a first week November release date.
I probably won't buy on day 1, but so long as the reviews are good for stability and backwards compatibility with third-party products, I'll be an early adopter.
Xbox here. Prob will move over as long as addons are working. Not having to purchase again is a huge sell factor for me. Also. Late September for release.
This SU has been delayed two months for further refinement of issues found in beta testing. There just would not be enough time after May to do a sim update for July. So they are focusing everyone on the release of FS2024, then teams can be set for sim updates of both 2020 and 2024 after release.
@@andy70d35 Yeah well i bought it about 3 weeks ago and it didnt work for about a week. I didnt realise that my pc had under 1 GB left of storage. If your storage is full i would empty as much as it really helps
Will it have something meaningful to fly initially? Will it support existing addons or will have some iniBuild's/other's aircrafts for starter? Otherwise I see no point in purchasing it for any simmer. Leave it for arcade players for a couple of years as MSFS 2020 is good enough with all it's imperfections but at least with some good sim content.
I will wait to see how it pans out. With about £4k invested in Ms2020. I need to know my add-ons will work along with hardware. And PC will run ms2024. To many if's at the moment
No sat 'phone domes on EasyJet aircraft AFAIK but like mine your Fenix A320 Gav defaults to showing it - have to turn the bloody thing off every time - trying to fix this through Fenix support is a waste of time. I will be buying MSFS 2024 on the first day of release.
Praying this is the finishing Midas touch if you will I’m also praying this is NOT a Sim killer that it will age like a fine wine and not sour like fsx did lol cause I really love 2020 it is fantastic in my opinion
yeah i want to see the benefits before purchasing, only on the basis that fs2020 is looking as real as it gets, im not getting itchy feet about upgrading yet.
I wish I could buy the fs2024 but I'm quite concerned for the hardware I got. I got an rtx 3060 but although default settings are ultra per fs recommendation, I get a butt load of lags still specially in heavy cities. Auto fps is helping me a tone but, wonder how worst fs2024 is going to be in hardware issue!
I'm pretty sure most sure of the lag is not from your 3060 but the CPU itself. MSFS is really CPU intensive, especially single core performance. I play with a Ryzen 5 3550H and 1650 laptop, imagine my pain
Soooo, a lot of us are on beta and at least so far, there isn’t much of improvement as far as stutters and performance go! So far SU15 beta is similar to SU14 and significantly worse than SU13, performance wise! I would be surprised if anything changes in the next two weeks, but let’s hope they do, for better!
What about multi core use in 2024? Even my Nvidia 2070s in 4k will not get to the limit with this needless single core performance limit in 2020 ! Why do they do this? Most of us have 6,8 or 12 core cpu and MS came up with single core use. Boy oh boy......
#Easyjetsimpilot .. I have a request. Because of the war in Ukraine the russians are jamming the GPS signal over the Baltic countries and many commercial aircraft have return back from the destination airports. Finnair for example had at least 2 flights that returned back and now they stopped all flights to Estonia until further notice. Is it possible that you make a simulation flight where the GPS signal is gone? What do you do then and what are the SOP in a case like this? Can you continue and land or is it necessary to go to alternate and how do you land the aircraft? Hope you have the time to do a flight like this! Thanks for your videos!
If the pricing model of the last, oh, 40 years bears out, it should cost similar to MSFS20. Now, will they do the 3 different versions like they did with MSFS20? That I can't say, they very well could but at this point I don't think it would make much since.
I'll get 2024, being that it should be released with game pass. I really hope that our current purchases work with the new sim. I have 40 airports downloaded, plus I don't know how many aircrafts. Having a free marketplace would be nice also. I would like to see items on the marketplace have trials. There are way too many items on there that don't do what they say, work with sim without crashes, or just is flat out trash.
No first day purchase of MSFS 2024. Will see how it goes a couple of months down the line and maybe consider it.. or even better look for a sale. But the way they treated 2020 and left a lot of things hanging like the unfinished dx12, needs to be punished by the consumers and MS understands only one language, money.
Although it has many supporters, it is absolutely uninteresting to me. I really don't understand that step. MFS 2020 would still need so much work and now it looks like sim update 15 will be the last for a long time. I only fly the fenix a320, but I understand that it can be interesting for non-hardcore sim gamers.
So you lock yourself to one aircraft, and then chastise anyone else that might find the new sim interesting? As one that has been in real world aviation for, oh, the last 27 years, your sad devotion to a single airframe speaks volumes to the scope of your knowledge.
I watch and see what msfs2024 will do, if i like it, i buy it. I hope that the ingame atc will be to adjust. No more report aircraft inside, because in real life they don't say that. There's what tcas is for.
No, most releases of the sim are in the late Summer time. So August September is more on par with that. October at the latest. They don't try to compete with the big games like Call of Duty, Forza, etc.

You got it right. It will always be available to you if you’ve ever downloaded it, even if you subsequently deleted it. (ObsidianAnt also says this on his vid)
If PMDG 777 and GSX work on MSFS 2024, I’m jumping ship
Let's gooo! So hyped for my home town stockholm being updated.
Will all the paid addons transfer over? Especially things like the Fenix?
I heard it's a stand alone so it may not transfer to the new one.
@@USSBanditThey said most of them should work on the new sim
Bet they will announce a release dec 2024 but will bush back to mid 2025
I'm thinking FBW is waiting on the A380 till 2024....
Probably but I hope it releases soon
Could someone clarify, is Microsoft coming up with new flight sim? What’s the need of it?
What I have heard is that 2024 will make better use of the multi core multi thread CPUs available now. 2020 was based off of FSX architecture that used single core chips
@@guyfox7830 thanks mate
How is this the last one? According to the roadmap the last one is i believe july?
This SU has been delayed two months for further refinement of issues found in beta testing. There just would not be enough time after May to do a sim update for July. So they are focusing everyone on the release of FS2024, then teams can be set for sim updates of both 2020 and 2024 after release.
Worried that the MSFS 2024 will not be worth it. I need GSX and Fenix to work in it
GSX just to actually work, would be nice, it's crashed so many times I have stopped using it.
@@andy70d35 Yeah well i bought it about 3 weeks ago and it didnt work for about a week. I didnt realise that my pc had under 1 GB left of storage. If your storage is full i would empty as much as it really helps
I will buy it straight away! Launch date…. Octobre 2024, I guess.
Can you post the names of those airports please? They look so nice
MSFS 2020 already does more than I'll ever need. I'll keep using it until MS withdraws support.
why cant i find much info on 2024? cant even pre order it or find it on any store.
It's not available yet. No release date announced
Gonna try 2024 on gamepass before I buy it on Steam
Yes, will be purchasing MSFS 2024 right away.
Will it have something meaningful to fly initially? Will it support existing addons or will have some iniBuild's/other's aircrafts for starter?
Otherwise I see no point in purchasing it for any simmer. Leave it for arcade players for a couple of years as MSFS 2020 is good enough with all it's imperfections but at least with some good sim content.
probably wait to see handling.
Will look forward to when the City update to Stockholm arrives
I will wait to see how it pans out. With about £4k invested in Ms2020. I need to know my add-ons will work along with hardware. And PC will run ms2024. To many if's at the moment
Ive had no issues with weather concerns……only fly live time and weather. Then you dont need to worry about historical weather 😁
I think I will wait for reports and comments before i bay it. By the way I used to work in the tower in OSL, the airport you run in the video.
Hope it looked realistic.
I always forget to turn it off.
Oh no! The total immersion break! Get over yourself.
Thanks mate for the update 👌
Praying this is the finishing Midas touch if you will I’m also praying this is NOT a Sim killer that it will age like a fine wine and not sour like fsx did lol cause I really love 2020 it is fantastic in my opinion
So excited to see if they will have an fs2024 demo at fsexpo this year. Will be the first ever year I go
I'm thinking it'll be August-September for fs2024 will come out
Mate, Leap is CFM...
Will msfs 2024 bring legitimate proper working wr api? If not im just back to xplane 12 😴
You're already with the substandard sim, anything else would be an improvement.
What's the aiport during the approach at 8:23 ?
Honestly can't remember.
yeah i want to see the benefits before purchasing, only on the basis that fs2020 is looking as real as it gets, im not getting itchy feet about upgrading yet.
Wonder which airliners will come with MSFS 2024 🤔
I would buy it the second it gets released.
How do you see different airlines
Given their track record so far with delays I think the new sim will be called FS2025.
What about multi core use in 2024? Even my Nvidia 2070s in 4k will not get to the limit with this needless single core performance limit in 2020 ! Why do they do this? Most of us have 6,8 or 12 core cpu and MS came up with single core use. Boy oh boy......
MSFS 2020 was still based on some FSX code, which is now 20 years old so had limitations - hence a new MSFS 2024
Do we have any idea what msfs2024 will cost, roughly?
I’ll use 2020 for as long as the sim is flyable.
I'm calling Nov. 2024 for release.
9:15 ground spoilers have left the chat
I just hope there will be any a350 sonn😢
Who is gonna have space on their hard drive to install MSFS 2024 without deleting 2020 lol?!
As always I’m buying pre order MSFS was bad at first so many people said and here we are today . Now if only Microsoft could get ahold of DCS
Personally, I think it'll be closer to Christmas.
Agree. I think perhaps early November, so that they catch the lucrative Christmas period.
Yes agree end of the year.
No, most releases of the sim are in the late Summer time. So August September is more on par with that. October at the latest. They don't try to compete with the big games like Call of Duty, Forza, etc.
