I feel like when you're talking with lots of people about a hobby, there can be a bit of pressure to distinguish yourself by finding something more obscure or "special" and going "THAT'S my favourite", but the older I get the more I just like the most simple, Iconic stuff. so there. Optimus Prime, he's actually just The Best. no need to justify anything.

i'll always think that the black trailer with the extended, curved front from the voicebox looks better than the standard G1 trailer. it's just got a lot more presence. obviously it flies against the "robots in disguise" ethos but i do want my toys with oomph
45 Secs in and I just went "Fuckin' Hell!" G2 Prime definitely didn't have a problem with self-promotion.

This was the mold that introduced that slot in his back to hold that sound pack. All re-ssues since has had that slot, which makes it the easiest way to tell the difference between the original release and reissues.
I could never get Optimus to stand with the bigger AA batteries in that sound pack. I kept the adapter for the LR44 batteries that were used for the demo purpose from the original packaging. Much lighter that way, and less acid to leak out when the batteries fail
Now I can say that my MP-01 made a split second cameo in a TRDQ video.
I never had this version but have always referred to it as 'Ego-Master Optimus Prime'.
These short videos are so fun and convenient!

just now noticing they put g1 autobot symbols on everything, not the g2 version. it almost feels like they knew the g1 symbol was a bit more lastingly iconic, and they were preparing him for a future of reverent recognition.

If you unscrew the head, there's a small piece of plastic that if removed, allows him to turn his head though it's a bit loose unless you cover it with blue tack.
That said, the Device Label remold with the cartoon accurate head is very nice but pricey.
Oh my goodness, do I ever love a secret hidden bit of transformation/poseability that I can unlock with my trusty X-Acto knife. Fond memories of giving G1 Octane his waist slider back.
Gotta get a Planet X Deathsaurus to go with that Planet X Star Saber
My favorite Transformer is Lord Straxus, aka Darkmount. I love how ruthless and brutal he is
Just bought one of these at TFcon, couldn’t figure out what the hell I was suppose to do with the fuel pump, so thanks for the closure on that lol.
My G2 is very well played with, much like many G1's before him that I never had. His limbs are loose, paint chipped and I'm not sure exactly what happened to the sound pack. I also love how they extended the trailer's logo onto the sound pack as well, cementing that it was more than just an addon (even though it literally was), it meant that it was a part of the trailer. I always felt the side guns were inspired by Headmaster Prime in truck mode with those guns on the trailer in the same spot.
I hope we get to have a G2 inspired Selects Optimus Prime, I'd snatch him up in an instant :D

It's kinda nutty to me that the original Prime is the one with the cleanest truck bed, maybe ever?
It's kinda crazy to me that some people have been indoctrinated into thinking having shins sticking 2 feet above the wheel arch is how truck beds are supposed to look because no other prime really tried to achieve a clean bed like this one

Did Repugnus get his nails done?
Yes and no - if you check some of the older videos, there's a painted-up fancy Repugnus in those too. The painted and unpainted ones appear interchangeably through these videos, sometimes with both showing up in the same one.

You should goto a hobby store or online somewhere and get mobile suit gundam micro wars. The tiny vhichles model kit comes with 3 perfect diaclone men that fit all the g1 toys that have seats. There only around $8. I have one driving my optimus and kickback lol

Generation 2 Optimus Prime was made to be the counterpart of the Tank Megatron. There’s only one problem. The scale between those two is not real scale. The scale between them is a myth.

Imo, the only G1 prime that’s better than this is PEPSI CONVOY, BITCHES!
You can take this Prime and use him in place of Power Master Prime when doing the combine mode.
Well there is definitely something wrong.
So, the short smokestacks are more recent, and they are long in all older versions of Optimus.
Second, my G2 blue is way darker, it's basically the same as the G1, including eye colors
