- First I'm shilling Disney, now it's McDonalds. Always looking out for the little guy. I think I'm getting over my cold. My voice sounds better? Also I got a new mic.
Anyway that's enough for tonight, diary. Goodnight. Приколы
Had to double check I wasn't going insane when rattrap's eyes moved at the very end lol
Don't worry! You are ok, just the toy is haunted.
They did?
@@TRDQ Rattrap: "I am Pazuzu~!"
As someone who used to work at McDonald's as a student I can assure you our costumers have never seen a single rat in our fine establishment! I always used to make sure to tenderize the little fuckers into a pulp so they can be mixed into the patties seamlessly.
I fully accept that this Jetstorm is better than both versions from the actual toyline.
Beast Machines toys are the ultimate "don't judge a book by its' cover" example, they look super weird, but some of them are absolute gems, specially Tankor.
I have the basic tank drone and i can recommend that little death machine fella with full heart. Nice detailes, painting, show accurate sculpting and *chrome* cannon! When was the last time we saw chrome on a transformer on this size class?
I love Tankor but my copy has devolved into a floppy mess.
I've been picking up a lot of the scout figures recently and they're all in pretty fun even silverbolt but he's fun an the same way the room is but the rest of them are great
I really want to get my hands on a Savage Noble one day
Shame the show changed the designs during development so they no longer matched the toys. I wonder why.
Love the look on Toby's face as you're slapping the toy bags on the table. "Daddy's playing with his toys again."
These little dudes remind me of early Final Fantasy sprites. Simplistic, but oddly detailed and fun!
(And then Beast Machines the show looks like those odd Nintendo Power illustrations)
My main experience with a beast machines mold is when they took the deluxe Jetstorm figure and repainted it into Skywarp for the first universe line, and that figure rules! Show accuracy was not a strong point but a lot of the figures themselves seem like a good time.
Deluxe Jetstorm still flies circles around the mega class toy, he's just so much more fun
Ah you feel old Gavin? I was a wee boy when these came out. I remember how excited I was to get Tankor in a happy meal (it's a shame you couldn't find him, he's excellent) The reveal that they were twenty years old made me all the more aware of how much I've grown since. How much of myself have I left behind in pursuit of adulthood?
Not much apparently 'cause I'm watching some other sack of bones talk about children's toys.
Please don't send Repugnus to school. Being a bit daft is the only thing keeping his power in check.
“And what is Optimus without Megatron?”
Let’s find out *schick*
I had three of the Happy Meal toys: Tankor, the manta ray and a beetle. Honestly I liked the beetle way more than I should've. Almost obsessively so. Tankor was a nice little guy, too. I like to think of him sitting in a recliner, sipping tea and reading a paper in-between scenes.
Oooooh no. I’m not having that last frame, no thank you.
Although I will send this video to a friend if they’re high off their ass for a harmless little scare.
I think you just unlocked some kind of primal memory with that Jetstorm toy, because I definitely recall having played with such a toy once. I would have been about six years old at the time, so any recollection would be understandably fuzzy.
Beast Machines is one of my favorite series. The animation was amazing for the time (and still not to bad). What I liked was it was transformers on cybertron with no stupid humans. Most of the toys were pretty good. 20+ years later (with years and years of transformations) they are still payable.
You really did provide us with a few nuggets of information in this episode, though I was disappointed none of the figures had a frying mode.
the stalwart dedication to no kind of sign off or outro whatsoever is honestly a bright spot of consistency and respect for time in this benighted world
Seems like the Rise of Beasts toy line has a lot to live up to, then.
I love that ending. "Maybe I'll own the rest someday. Maybe I'll surf the great barrier reef on a hot dog. It's all in the hands of fate"
I recall owning Megatron, and if I remember correctly, I always had him mistransformed. I'd have his dragon head deployed in robot mode, so that his dragon mode would become "winged man" mode instead.
In short, those are "quarky" toys. In a good way suprizingly.
Also, isn't it funny how rattrap expretion at the end gives you the "I'M WATCHING YOU" feeling.
I also go into Rat Mode every time I enter a mcdonalds. I NEED my nugget fix, man.
The McDonald's toys were some of the most show accurate toys ever released for Beast Machines.
Strange, I was just watching some old reviews from this channel and right before I was about to leave to go somewhere else, a new video came out. I see what you did there Gavin👀 also I’m glad Beast Machines has been getting more love from the community recently, it wasn’t as bad as some people make it out to be
I hope you manage to get your grubby mitts on those last 3 McFormers, Gavin.
I was expecting a sexy, neon G2 review, but damn this was better. Finally someone who gives some love for the Beast Machines!
It's a shame when the Happy Meal toys get closer to the CGI model of the show than many of the official Hasbro figures. Especially Tankor. I would definitely recommend trying to get him if you can. It's a surprisingly well articulated little guy.
FunPub did try to make a new, more screen accurate Jetstorm from the Thrilling 30 Armada Starscream mold but it never happened beyond one comic panel.
You better give Toby a review of his own. 13/10 Very Good Boi
Transformers in Happy meal is ultimate excuse to eat some 'burgers 🤣
Awesome review Gavin!
That very last second had me dying, thank you for that
I only had Thrust as a kid but I remember him being really good for a kids meal toy. He's still in a box around here somewhere.
I have a lot of love for Beast Machines, I have an Optimus Primal that is a nightmare of clear plastic, but he looks insane and throws a snot coloured "ninja star" and opens his chest. I keep thinking about buying the killer turkey version of Silverbolt but never quite like it more than anything else I want on the rare days living in the UK isn't a financial disaster.(i.e. the last Friday of the month...beats getting liver cancer by increment doesn't it?)
The series is phenomenal, its like if Pez* got pushed down some stairs and was told to illustrate a religious tale, in the dark or never be allowed out of the cellar ever again.
*Pez designed the best of the mid-nineties rave flyers. Mainly for the big ones like Helter Skelter, Dreamscape et al....
This reminds me of how a McDonald's Energon Megatron was one of my first figures.
I can't remember much about it other than the fact that I liked it a decent bit. You know, I suppose
Oh man. That last frame of the vid. Haunting.
I keep seeing these on my frequent visits to tfwiki to look at Beast Wars toys and always thought they looked adorably goofy. The head on Cheetor is especially brilliant.
AHAHAH great easter egg in the very last frames, I loved it
Rattrap has seen some real shit.
For whatever reason I really dig the basic vehicons. Still trying to track down the thrust and tankor molds, but I've the RiD repaints of the other 4 and they're all a good time.
I bought something from a US eBay seller in the early 2000s and as an extra and unknown to me they chucked in a near complete set (missing packaging Tankor and Thrust's smoke accessories). Perhaps they won the scholarship and were in the process of ditching their old toy obsessed life behind.
Never could part with them for some reason. They have a strange appeal which is fitting for anything Beast Machines.
2:13 Shrek, NO! You're better than this, you don't need to moonlight as a happy meal toy that isn't even your brand! Get help...
Aww yeah! Good review. I've always had a great respect for these transforming McDonalds toys (partway cuz I grew up with em!) and I've always really liked this BM set. And it always tickled me some were more show accurate than their other toys.
Poor Primal's beast mode looks like Martian Manhunter got his face smashed against a wall
Likely the 2nd best transforming happy meal set, next to the Food Changeables, and above either Animated or those Wendy's Go Bots. Definitely get Nightscream when you can. Even if the retail toy was competent, it would *still* be better. Great little toy.
I can't believe you have all of these. I hope you're able to complete the set.
big fan of Happy Meal toy transformers. youve gotta be rootin' for the little guys
That Jetstorm was my very first transformers toy. I wish I didn’t lose it or could find it online so as to give it a very special place in my collection.
I'll be completely honest the only Beast Machines figures I've wanted were Blackarachnia and Noble Savage
I actually have the McDonald’s toy of Beast Machines Tankor. It was given to me by one on my teachers when I was in High School!!!
Jetstorm is my favourite.
that Megatron is much better than he should have been
The beast wars and beast machine McDonalds toys were the best the more recent McDonalds transformers usually don't even transform anymore and the original beast wars toys were of all unique characters so definitely the best time to be a kid
tankor looks to be the best one though, blackarachnia is surprisingly involved :0
the episode where Gavin jumps the shark
?
@@TRDQ i thought you were painting yourself into a corner by reviewing McDonald's toys.
I stand corrected. You were just flexing on us.
Oh my god I kinda love Cheetors permanent nyan hands
You should absolutely get the the other 3, especially Thrust
holy fuck the last shot spooked the heck out of me
yas dude, I still have nightscream, jeststorm and blackarachnia; nightscream is a favorite for sure
Wow, happy meals toys have really taken some budget cuts over the last 20 years...
Can't be worse than blastcharge or whatever his name is, I mean you ARE getting them for free basically, also idk why you'd want show accuracy seeing as the maximals in the show are fucking terrifying
I have Optimus Primal, Cheetor, Blackarachnia and Thrust. I also have the Red Rooster version of Tankor, Megatron and Rattrap.
Repugnus studying law? He’s probably looking to sue you for endangering his life so frequently.
shoutout to mcdonalds cheetor! i love him
Hey, my home made soup is also at LEAST half way decent!
THE EYES!!
I got the Jetstorm from my cousin
Cheetor looks like one of the goombas from mario bros the movie.
0:23 Doggo! Why did pupper make this face? 😳
He was like "What are YOU DOING?"
DOG SIGHTING!
yeah i bet blackarachnia is your favorite
Actually, you don't have that many beast machines videos on the channel. Like, did you ever do a video on nightscream? Everybody talks trash on him, it's sad, I'd watch that.
I ordered a set of these on eBay a couple weeks ago and they got lost in the mail... coincidence?
Yeah probably.
Oh my god I had these and I hate myself for getting rid of most of my kid toys!
At least these toys transform. Happy meal toys these days are just hollow, less-to-no paint detail, non-transforming transformers with gimmicks.
Will you ever do the McDonalds changeable from 1988? Or is that too expensive?
Also what do you think of the Beast Wars toy revival?
I think I have one?! Maybe?
The Kingdom stuff felt largely forgettable tbh. Megatron is very good though!
Let me just say that my homemade soup is delicious. Don't believe me? I have two people to assure that
DON'T BELIEVE YOU
I think blackaraknia had a cool thing going. Also I’m the 100th commen!
Hey Gavin have you tried the Animated McDonald’s toys?
Weirdly not yet!
@@TRDQ I’ve always wanted the rest of them
Did you know that Cheetor also doubles as a Goombah from that awesome Super Mario Bros. live action movie?
Nah, I'm kidding, that movie sucked koopah shells.
Titan class mcdonalds beast machines black arachnia is my grail
TANKOR and THRUST were the best of these figures.
The maximals are in scale with most of the vehicons
