Nice job on the video & install! You just saved me a bunch of $$$. Was wondering if the sandwich ports are interchangeable as far as installing your sensors and oil lines. Reason I ask as I run with a metal skid plate and your oil line angles seem like they would interfere with my skid. My skid sits right up against the KB headers. These darn headers r so close to the filter it raises temps too high. This seems to be the solution I need. I’m probably going to vent the hood too. So much under hood temps running with KB headers and closed deck. Ugh. Lol
Hey Steve, thx for the feedback. You can just get different angle fittings from sandwich plate to the lines....or if u know someone who welds, have them cut a square below where the filter and the lines are and weld a recess like an inch or 2 down. So from below the skid, it will look like it's bulging only in that area....also wrap ur headers, it will help ur temps a tonnnnn!!! If ur turboed, put a blanket on that thing as well, I'll leave u some links below. Header wrap-- ruclips.net/video/hSyjhIckNY8/видео.html Turbo Blanket- ruclips.net/video/VGbS_b86fKM/видео.html
@@WikedWips I’m all in with the turbo blanket. The Cobb shield doesn’t do squat. I might just add some heat reflective DEI type tape to the shield combined with the blanket. Should have done that when I did the build. Smh. Unfortunately with the KB headers there’s absolutely no room by the filter to wrap it. There’s literally millimeters between the pipe and the filter. Besides KB won’t warranty their ceramic coated headers. :(. I’m thinking your oil cooler solution plus the turbo blanket and vented hood(picked up a set of Trackspec vents) that should do the trick. Going in for a JR tune today on the fresh motor so we will have to do what we can to keep the temps down with fans etc and get outta there alive. I’m running with the Bouch xtr 1.5 and a top mount for now. Down the road I might end up going front mount. I’ve definitely gone down the rabbit hole. Appreciate all of your insight!! Hope your channel is doing well …you r definitely putting in the effort. 👍
@@WikedWips Shiftfast in Rock Hill SC. They’ve got a new heartbreaker dyno! Lol. Left there today a bit disappointed. Was hoping for more. 93 only produced around 350 and 45%E around 390. So if we extrapolate the E I’m probably in the low 400’s. Looks like my issue is the top mount. I’ll would have sworn JR said GS TM was a decent TM. But evidently not. I also have the redline Cobb intake which is a good one. So, if I go FM I’m most likely going to go with Cobbs since the plumbing works well with the intake however, I’m wondering what the IATs will be with that setup. One guy commented on Cobbs site regarding the FM that he was still getting IAT which I can only assume at idle at around 160. That’s still hot as hell! For now I’m going to add the oil cooler and vent the hood and drive/enjoy it for a while b4 I lay out a bunch more $$ into this project. I’ve also got too many Realestate projects going on that need attention too including my own home. Smh. I have to replumb the whole house! Bad pex pipe throughout. This issue has plagued the whole area down here due to a manufacturer (who’s been long out of business) distributed bad pex throughout the counties. If it’s not one thing it’s another. 😜
Good video. I just wished it came with basic instructions. I do not think the lines need teflon. I believe they are designed not to need it. I mean, I don't think it hurts. Also, thank you for the yellow teflon info. I did not know that. I bought the same kit. I worked on aircraft in the past and hydraulic lines never used teflon and never leaked even at 3000 plus psi
Hey, awesome video. I have an 08 STi hatchback and am looking for a cooler. I saw your install video, great work, but I gotta know, how's it holding up, maybe make a follow up video of the performance? Wondering if the sammich plate is good too, no issues with the thermostat? Also, thanks for the inadvertent oil pressure gauge shots, I have an idea now of what oil pressure should be. Thanks
Hey, thanks for watching! Since then, I've built the car into a monster 840whp@38psi, and I'm not running that oil cooler anymore. Instead, I'm running a 25 row setrab cooler from perrin. Getting back to your question, I had no issues with the cooler, lines, and sandwich plate whatsoever.
Wow! Watching this nigga driving his car is as if he was inside the cockpit of an F-18 fighting Jet! lol! Hands down the cleanest install of a Motor oil cooler I have ever seen! Now I really hate you! lmao! Awesome vid, as always. keep them coming!
It literally stayed relatively the same as when I didn't have the oil cooler. I hope this helps brother. Also my entire setup has changed if you go to my playlist you're gonna see why.

Melvin...u crack me up man and thank you for always supporting me bro!!!
Hey bro nice. Would recommend this kite for a g37
It's universal so It would work!
Did you notice how oil pressure was affected? That’s my only concern. Did oil pressure ever drop under any conditions?
It literally stayed relatively the same as when I didn't have the oil cooler. I hope this helps brother. Also my entire setup has changed if you go to my playlist you're gonna see why.
Hi Great Video! How have the cooler and fittings been since the install? Also do you know what your oil pressure is on Cold Start on a cooler day?
Hey thanks for the positive feedback!!! A cold start is around 95 or a bit higher can't remember the exact number.
How is the cooler working to date?
It worked fine the entire time i had it, but now my entire build has been changed so I dont run it anymore. I run a bigger one
First comment!!!!!!
