Regardless, until there's an official 1440p update I'm going to keep playing on my 21:9 29" 1080p ultrawide which is equivalent to a 16:9 24" for console games. I've thought about getting a 4k monitor but I plan on mostly playing games in performance mode so it would seem silly and if performance mode downscales the 4k to 1080p then will it look bad? And I also have my gaming laptop hooked up to my monitor and the 1650 GPU definitely can't handle 4k.

So when it says 120hz enabled in cold war, did you re-check your settings on the ps5 to see if it changed from [1920 x 1080 - 60hz] to 1920 x 1080 - 120hz
@@fc1774 as of now the closest you can get on a gaming monitor to 1440p 120hz is 1080p 120hz. or 4K 60hz. I prefer to game at 1440p 120hz... In the future when 4k 120hz monitors are highly available I will move to 4k... Don't get me wrong the PS5 is still badass they just need to tweak that one thing.

the alienware 240hz gsync doenst support 120hz via hdmi. it supports 240hz via displayport though. u could buy a hdmi 2.0 to displayport cable und connect the ps5 via displayport.
Play on a game that supports 120fps, for example rainbow six siege... Set it to performance mode, then check your display settings and it should say 120hz but the menu won't be compatible 120hz
I read somewhere else that it's because most PC monitors use a different HDMI signal to what TV's do and the PS5 doesn't use a signal that is compatible with PC monitors at 120hz. A lot of newer monitors do have the TV hdmi signal though and thus work fine with PS5 at 120hz. That's my very simple version. What I read was far more in depth 😅

People dont understand to get 4k @120hz its not avaliable yet might be soon by asus but its not going to be cheap so this is cheap compared to one of those monitor that will run 1 grand min even tho we get 120hz at 1080p or 4 k at 60hz thats okay 120hz for call of duty to get better frames online and 4k at 60hz for those games you play story mode etc works for me well until the 4k @120hz monitor drop in price once they are more available in like 2 years maybe 1 and yes 2.1 is needed for 4k @120hz its just not out yet

There is so much confusion with monitors. I have a lg 144hz free sync monitor. Not g sync compatible but u can still use g sync? It's confusing. With this next build ill just have to see how it does. I plan on getting a 1440p monitor anyways but the gsync verified ones are super expensive.

People fail to realize that if a monitor/tv doesn’t have hdmi 2.1, it WON’T push out everything the ps5 has... Get the best most expensive monitor possible, if it doesn’t have hdmi 2.1, it won’t push out everything.🤷🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
So as I understand it this monitor does have hdmi 2.1 but that is only part of the problem when trying to get 120hz... it also has to do with how the monitor switches frequencies from one hertz level to another... different monitor companies are handling this switching differently as it pertains to PS5... that’s why there is so much confusion.
I'm pretty sure it doesn't. this monitor can run 4k 120hz BUT that is through Display Port, not the HDMI 2.0 ports on this monitor. Alternatively, If you do buy this monitor it can run games at 1080p (HD) 120hz. The game may look blury as its being upscaled to a higher resolution monitor. TBH though, besides racing games, and side scrollers, I don't think many games will be hitting that 120fps (which are the frames you'd ideally want for 120hz at 4k).
He isn't running that ps5 on that monitor at a true 120hz. He needs hdmi... he thinks he is because the monitor itself is well capable through a display port and not the hdmi port itself.
Yes it does. I bought it yesterday for my PS5, mainly for Fortnite. It runs it at 120 fps constantly. It's a great monitor. Look up Mp1st.com monitors compatible for 120 fps on PS5, and they have a list of compatible monitors.

Eh. I just got the Xbox Series X and this monitor. I don’t care for console debates. I’d rather get native 1440p with 120Hz for now. I’ll grab a PlayStation 5 a bit down the road once more games with better graphical improvements are made.

Alot of people would argue 24 inches is the max screen size you'd want to go with 1080p. At 27 inches, you'd want 1440p for that good pixel density.
Ps5 doesn’t support 1440p so you’d have to go for the 4K one

To get 120 FPS on ps5 at 1080p the monitor has to support HDMI 2.0 if you want 120 FPS at 4K your monitor or tv has to support HDMI 2.1

g sync is for nvidia video cards so its for pc’s with gtx cards

Some monitors don’t need 2.1 to run 120. The ex2510 and xl2411k are 2.0 and gives 120hz for ps and xsx

The tilt is adjustable. Just hold the stand and push the screen back.
