HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 3 авг 2024
- On this episode of Carnage we complete the build on our 1.5jz engine for the Trolvo. It's a 1jz head on a 2jz NA block with turbo rods and pistons. It should make between 800 and 1000hp.
Street Machine Carnage is all about having fun with cars. Sometimes it's serious performance, sometimes it's crazy fun, but it always interesting and done on a budget.

He's a learning animal. No broken cams for Scotty this time.
Some are more sacred then others, that is for sure.
I'm just here for the big shifter action 😆
".. assembled it with care and love" (0:32) exactly this little detail is what makes me even watch complete engine mounting gearhead videos like this one, because it's done the Scotty way ! Love it ! ☺🖤
Ahh nothing like carnage in the morning
Cant wait to see this thing go down the 1/4 mile again :-)
Am I the only one sweating a bit with the cam install sequence?
Get well soon mate
I love to see you build a mercedes m104 engine! 🤩
I too love some Friday morning Carnage.
Just another volvo at the traffic lights, lucky person who buys this
Makes sense going with the non vvti trigger wheel. Your head doesn't have vvti, as far as the ECU map is concerned, everything should be the same but you now have extra 500cc.
I remember taking my car in for a service back in the day (Soarer with the 1JZ vvti) and when they did the front main seal, I think they broke a tooth on the trigger wheel getting it off. I remember the workshop telling me 'Yeah it's amazing it even started'.. Set the whole thing back another week or two waiting for a brand new vvti trigger wheel.
That things going to provide some straight six carnage.
Good to see you still had both hands in the assembly, too, Scotty 🙌
Love the simplicity of the JZ design.
Me too! When you get rid of all the additional crap they put on JZ engines at the factory they're simple and really good
Love the vids Scotty. Renseal is at the end of your street and they're awesome for all those seals you needed 👍
Love it mate. I'm going through the same at the moment with a Windsor build so no judgement about reusing anything here. Cheers!
Meh, as long as they are still soft and pliable they'll be fine!
@@Beer_Dad1975 they were new when we did the cams
Great video 👍
This is the sh#$ I signed up for 😂, I to am a learning on the job type just you Scotty. Noone on RUclips builds there own engines. It just add such an awesome element of surprise to everything. 🎉
Thanks mate
Great pulling in this episode. Pulling the pin, pulling the trash bag. Pull on. You need a sponsorship from you pull it LoL
Hey Scotty, you were turning blue holding your breath as you did the 2 rotations and checked the cam line ups. hehe cheers mate🍺
Using the old seals, you’re a maverick Scotty. Just knock ‘‘em in with the shifter. She’ll be impressed.
For O rings check out renseal if there still around the corner from you normally have most types in stock.
Great place for seals, they'll always find a solution
Will be sad to see trolvo go, I feel like of all the cars it has the most soul. And I'd love it to be a long term car that eventually gets a full cage and four-link conversion, but I get that then finding k-member stuff for it is impossible and etc etc... which sucks.
Still super unique and would be epic to see it tubbed with a cage, four-link, good tubular front-end, and running 33's - we can only dream what could be
Would love to but the Volvo does get as many views as Supermang or Taxi
Why does it need a new K member? The rear end is already a 4 link with Panhard bar.
Sad to see this one go, definitely one of my favourites
Good tunes! Good episode!
Nice build Just love it looking forward to see how it performs.
Great build no limiter
Awesome video scotty, a 2jz would be fun in a 4x4 Toyota tacoma
We thought about doing a 2jz Prado
Oh for an extra inch Scotty....
Doing well on Trolvos motor, but I’m looking forward to the lexicon and supermag rebuilds and refits as I’m looking forward to seeing the difference on those cars. Trolvo is a cool car but the v8 going into the lexicon has gotten my adrenaline going. That wagon is going to fly like a beast
Looks at his wrist, its home time .hahahahahaha
Shifting spanner getting jealous of all the action the torque wrench is getting
You should 3D Print an extended cover for the belt. Knowing you guys you'll get something in that gap and stuff your belt etc.
Maybe
@@STREETMACHINETV ... on the next episode, our timing belt breaks :D
The standard 2jzge backing and lower fits with the 1jz uppers from memory. I had a 1.5 jz around 8 years ago in my hilux. And it done flood waters over the bonnet and proper 4wding so I made sure it was pretty sealed up
OnYa Scotty
WOooooo !!!!
Shoulda bout a new water pump and an new o ring. Use the print from the new pump, then return the pump with the o ring from qld, when it arrives.
Basically what I'm doing but I'm not returning the pump. Might as well keep a spare
Or you could walk to Renseal for that O ring! It's that close!
Yeah maybe, but need to be exact size and I didn't have one to show them
It doesn’t matter if you think you have all the parts as there is always a seal, bolt or part that will always stuff you around. Muphys law
Sad to hear you might sell it, but you have achieved the goal you set out to achieve.
Hey Scotty you doing another guess the horsepower for the dyno again?? I'm throwing in early and saying 923hp🤣👍🍻
Have you got the water pump adaptor for the head? Keen to see the end results as it's pretty much a copy of what I have at the moment except with my forged pistons and rods.
Yes, we do
I’m interested to see the numbers on this one dyno wise, I predict that on the same boost it will make the same power but lower in the rpm range 👍
Pretty much, but hoping to tip a little more boost into this one
👍👍🔥🔥
Just wondering about setting the valve clearances with new buckets and mixing old buckets
I just replaced the worn buckets with new one of the same clearance
Wouldn't you just change the crank trigger count to the 2jz one in the haltech? Higher resolution is better.
It runs fine as is, keeping it simple
woohoo
Plenty of hydraulic seal shops around that would match 1 up
True but it all takes time, time has a cost as well
@@STREETMACHINETV would have been quicker than getting the pump
@@jase666ify Not really, picked up pump on way to work
Poor bloke forgot to fit the water tube from water pump to head. Gonna have to remove water pump again
Nope, because that pipe doesn't go directly into the head
Could always get a universal o ring kit from super cheap
It's probably fail pretty quick too
Hello I have a question, do the rods and pistons have to be used, or could I use _NEW_ aristo oem gte pistons on some used gte rods in my ge vvti? Or would the new oem gte pistons mean I need to be blueprinted and machined?
When the block is taller, will the engine still fit under the hood? And will the downpipe fit or do it need some fabricaion?
Because when the head is up an inch higher the turbo will be too.
Engine will fit, might/probably need to adjust dump pipe
So how much total spent on this project? Like your content. Thanks.
Hard to say, it's had some changes and redone some things.
You didnt say what size cams scotty =D I'd love to know. I gotta do timing belt on my supra next week, not looking forward to it.
278/272 or something like that
@@STREETMACHINETV lumpy boi!
any chance where to find a 1jzgte workshop manual?
Did you lube up the outside of the buckets Scotty?
Yeah, engine oil.
no snapped cams this time :P
do you guys do regular merch?
We have a carnage and turbo taxi shirt on the Street Machine website. We're trying to get more merch made
@@STREETMACHINETV even if it just says street machine et cetera
Did that oil pump say toyoda?
Yep because that's the actual name for Toyota. Most of the import parts have Toyoda on them. It's real star wars
@@b3nny90 If I recall correctly, Toyota is only called Toyota because Mr Toyoda decided it was a more commercially viable company name than Toyoda.
@@Beer_Dad1975 pretty much, I think there was conflict about the name at some point but yeah it was pretty much that
I was thinking was a Chinese knock off !!
Build a skid car
Double check the bolts are actually tight for the adjustable cam gears because I've had them be loose out of the box. (The Allan head bolts)
I know the ones you mean. We've had the engine running with them before but yeah, worth a check
