I've tried quite a few minimalist wallets over the years to find the perfect one. Main problem with the solid aluminium, titanium or other materials ones is that they leave a mark on your trousers with enough wear. They also feel a bit uncomfortable in your pocket and the cards are not very easy to access. Tried a few loose wallets as well, the best one being a cheap generic one I've got from an outdoors outlet, but it was not quite perfect for my needs. So... I've purchased a nice piece of leather and some cheap tools and made my own... very simple design, 3 pockets (2 unprotected on the sides for my shopping card and an NFC ID and the middle one protected that holds 5 cards and some folded cash)...and it works great.
$8 minimalist wallet is more my budget. I really like your budget EDC videos. Those are much more realistic and relatable to myself and probably most of us.
An excellent and obviously thoughtful review of several wallet options. If I might paraphrase, I am one of those guys who believes "man cannot live using just one wallet alone!" Over time, I've accumulated a collection of (I think) 37 wallets and find myself carrying perhaps six of them 80% of the time. The others are pulled out and carried on a very occasional basis. As you come on a wallet that piques your interest, buy it and enjoy it for just awhile and then move on to the next...life is good! However, the one wallet you discussed featured a money clip that incorporated a pitched tip on it. In my experience, that design can produce considerable wear on the linings of your pockets. If given the choice, go with the elastic band. I also have the REFORM 01 wallet, featuring the coin pouch. As one who likes to carry a combination of cards and cash, I don't recommend the REFORM wallets.
Yes, I agree that Reform is not good to carry cash for sure. But if you don’t, and you’re just carrying cards, they are excellent minimalist wallets. But thank you for your comment! Cheers!
I really would love to win a GEOGRIT wallet. Because last month I ordered an Ekster aluminum wallet in Ekster Amazon store, and twice they sent me scratched, pre owned items. 😢

I think so too. Plenty of people covering the high-end stuff, and more power to them. Me, I gotta stick with some "common people" stuff haha
