    Circle (2015) is very good sci-fi movie with some horror element in it. If you haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend it.
    Group of strangers found themselves in mysterious dark room in circle formation. After few minuets, one of them gets zapped and dies. Now they have to find out where they are what is going on. At the end, the strangers realized that they are playing some sort of sick game.

      @Ryan Stewart the point of the ending was to show that everyone else who basically survived the other game were elderly kids or pregnant women.
      Essentially saying with the other game everybody went with their morals. Saving innocence (kids)
      Two lives ( pregnant women) frailty ( the elderly)
      The sting at the end was he was the only person who was selfish and saved himself when in almost all the other games people sacrificed themselves for those traits

  • @millymillymilly
    @millymillymilly 7 лет назад +4001

    This is probably the worst "explanation" video ever, this guy basically just told the plot, and gave zero explanation to it.
    In my opinion, I think the entire human population played the circle. I believe there were millions of games played, all with one survivor.
    The group of survivors our cunning victor sees at the end were mainly pregnant women and children, indicating their groups went through with the morality choice. The rest of the survivors seemed to be a few men and non-pregnant women, who were either really good hearted people who won over their group, or more likely, just smart, calculated people who rigged the game, like our victor.
    As for why this happened, the aliens could have just been studying human nature, but I don't think they would have to play this game to do that, I'd like to believe the aliens were good, and doing what they thought was right and necessary. And perhaps they didn't want to kill people themselves, hence making the group ultimately decide. I believe the aliens were trying to help Earth, due to all the destruction and war we create, as well as overpopulation destroying the Earth (a planet that they perhaps cared about seeing survive, perhaps they've helped build our planet, ie. The pyramids), that they decided to help "clean up" so to say, to ensure future survival. Maybe they saw clearly that we were on the path to inevitable destruction due to nuclear war or climate change, that this is their way of helping us.
    Or perhaps I'm just reading too far into it, and the aliens were just filming a new reality tv show, somewhat like the Hunger Games. Lol ultimately, I think the point of the writers to end it without an explanation was to get us thinking, and to make up our own explanation.
    It's a pretty good movie, I just think more could have been said/done about the 4th last guy who didn't vote or speak... Maybe they should have announced him about 10 minutes earlier so we could have seen more people reflect on themselves for having voted for anyone's death at all.

    • @nerychristian
      @nerychristian 7 лет назад +600

      I thought the movie was interesting. But the ending kind of killed it. I was hoping that there would be a clever twist. Like maybe the ones who died would come back to life. And the guy who survived would be taken by the aliens to another planet.

    • @millymillymilly
      @millymillymilly 7 лет назад +394

      Christian Cerna yeah I guess... but that would be a boring happy ending. There was a big twist, the "good guy" was manipulating everyone. And then he survives. It's dark and interesting.

    • @blancyman
      @blancyman 7 лет назад +149

      Milly Borkovic I agree with many of your points. Firstly yes this is a terrible video that explains absolutely nothing but I'm glad i clicked on it now because your comment is the kind of thing I was looking for in this video! Secondly I agree that I think everyone in the world was In a circle. However I don't think the aliens would necessarily be doing this to help like you suggested or due to not wanting to kill themselves. I believe that they were trying to see which members of the race were the strongest willed and most clever so they could learn more about our race. I don't think they planned on humans behaving like they did in the circle we saw and attempt to save the child and pregnant lady.

    • @millymillymilly
      @millymillymilly 7 лет назад +46

      blancyman well, thank you. And I did say they "could just be studying human nature", I just had my own thoughts on it, because personally I think this is far too elaborate a thing to do to simply "study human nature" as they'd only have to pick up a history book, i.e. the titanic. But it's all up to interpretation. As no answer is given, no theory is right or wrong.

    • @millymillymilly
      @millymillymilly 7 лет назад +59

      To further explain my reasoning... I'm over the fact that the answer in almost every movie/book/tv show is ALWAYS the aliens are bad, the aliens want our planet, the aliens came to study us.
      It's been done time and time again, so I thought it would be more interesting if the aliens were actually good, and the humans were bad (as we no doubt are) we are destroying the planet and ourselves, and we're kinda a gross self absorbed entitled species. So it would be a nice flip if the aliens were fed up more or less, and came to take us off the path of inevitable self destruction.
      And perhaps the aliens were so evolved and pure that they couldn't kill us themselves. And maybe this was a way to "thin us out" or be left with the best of our species.
      I know this is unlikely where the creators were heading, but as they gave us no answers, this is personally the one I like best.

    I think the movie ended like this so everyone could have their own opinions on the outcome, there really is no answer. Throughout the movie, when people were getting killed off, I thought the movie would end completely different than it did. In my opinion what was running through my mind was that the people who suddenly vanished were the people who survived, for example, the 16 year old boy who volunteered. He seemed like one who deserved to live, and in the end the last person standing would die, because of their greed or their feeling of more self worth, meanwhile the people who vanished were the ones who deserved to live due to sacrifice and making a morally right decision, but that was just my point of view throughout the movie until it reached the end ... man was I completely wrong, but in my opinion it would have been a good way to end the movie with a good plot twist

    • @astroflight6571
      @astroflight6571 5 лет назад +12

      You want a plot twist. How's this. This is EXACTLY what would happen in the aftermath.
      I watched late at night and couldn't sleep afterwards because of the impact of the movie. Talk about the many ways to shoot us straight back to the stone age, that is one way to do it. Westies. How many westie cells let the pregnant woman or the child live? Probably at least half. The same scenerio would have played out all over the world, maybe a thousand cells per ship, 50,000 people go in and one thousand comes out. In African, Asian and Muslim countries, no women or children would have come out, it would have been all men.
      This "game" would not save humanity or the planet, it would cause incredible destruction, at least in industrialized countries. In the cultures where only men are left because they do not value women or children, they would kill themselves off with gang warfare anyway. In industrialized countries, where are the doctors, engineers, scientists, teachers etc? All dead, to save the pregnant lady. You know modern medicine has reduced the mortality rate of childbirth... right? Well, say good buy to that, now as many women will die giving birth as they did 1000 years ago.
      Where are the farmers and labourers? Where will food come from once the stores are empty. Where are the police and military? Where are the people who keep the power and water generators working? How long before all the nuclear reactors around the world blow; they all will sooner or later. On the day of the event there were 2% of the world's population remaining. 2% of 7.3 B (2015 pop) = 146M. Ten years later there would only 2% of those who survived the gang wars, the nuclear winter, disease etc. left (2.92M) scattered around the world, and they would be living like people 1,000 years ago lived. That's some serious population reduction.

    Would just like to point out that the commentator says "in the end we see mainly children, pregnant women, and the elderly". I've rewound the clip a couple of times at the relevant moment, and nowhere do we see any elderly people. It's quite interesting that there aren't any, and I feel adds another layer of depth to the film, and somehow the commentator noted the exact opposite of what occurred.
    So this, to me, means all groups came to the conclusion that the elderly were expendable. I think it's also fair to assume how the rest of the scenarios played out: children and pregnant women were given passes until the very end and the final "decider" either backstabbed his/her way to victory, or went through with the moral choice and let the more vulnerable choices walk, or perhaps they did a bad job of backstabbing. What's interesting, as well, is the thought that the only way a man would survive or, I guess, be considered to last until almost the end is by feigning morality by siding with the child and pregnant woman.

    I think there's something else here. When the guy comes out he remembers what he said to the group (only one can survive, or some similar crap) They all asumed only one can survive and they played consecuently. IMO they were close to salvation when they decided to vote for the person right next to them (perfect circle) But they messed up and never actually did one round voting this way. I think the tie is valid as long as everyone has the same votes.
    I like to think the survivors he meets in the end actually belong to the same group. One that was able to cooperate.

      WinG, no I think the entire human population played the circle. There were millions of circles all with one survivor. The group he sees at the end were pregnant women and children mainly and a few men, possibly because those were really good men or just smart calculated men who rigged the game like himself. I think perhaps the aliens were trying to help earth and all the destruction and war we create, as well as overpopulation destroying the earth, that they decided to help "clean up".

    To me, this movie is about the frailty of mankind. With some people already having figured out that the movie isn't so much about the 'aliens', but rather the mindset and functionalities of the world we live in. It is a movie that carelessly, without hollywoodesque feel, tackles morality. It explores the inside of our minds and what people would do and think in a judging situation. They've got the race question. The female question. The male question. The... and so on. And in many cases, unfortunately, it is accurate in how biased we people are.
    Psychology says it takes fifteen seconds for someone to base an opinion about someone else. Fifteen seconds from the second you walk into the classroom, or work, or party. In this movie, those fifteen seconds count.

    Interesting thought. The circle considered the pregnant woman’s child a live person even when she was dead. It was considered a tie when the last man and this unborn child were the only two left. And the last man of the group killed it in order to live. So how would any pregnant woman survive if herself and the child were thought of as two people. She could only technically win if she killed her own child. Interesting.

    • @tripledsupset7301
      @tripledsupset7301 Год назад

      I think based on
      -the fact there are multiple survivors that are pregnant woman
      -and the placement of the woman's body, ontop of a previous dead player's circle
      what happened was the circle mistakenly detected the baby as a player, so it continued the game. The reason the other pregnant woman are fine is because they didn't get killed, and made it to the end
      so technically, yeah, by the circle's rules, the pregnant lady and her child count as 2 people, but ONLY if the baby lands on a previously dead player's circle

Problem is when baby gets zapped, mom would also die because mom and baby are in same body. But we do see it at the end, there were few pregnant mom who survive.

    It's obvious aliens wanted to know more about humans with this game :
    1) If necessary they can kill eachother, it's important because some evolved species maybe couldn't do that anymore.
    2) It shows there are inequality, as they focus some humans first with groups.
    3) It shows they can deal and make predict futurs, league eachothers too.
    4) The biggest value are the kids, so humans protects their youngs.
    5) But at the end humans just lie, as it's the guy that win.
    So human aren't controlable, if there is an opportunity humans will kill the aliens too.
    When the first game ends they will put the survivors in a new game again and again, the last one will probably be a baby. This guy here was just lucky. Because if another smart guy was present in the game he would had die. The same if the group had 2 pregnant women. So the maybe pregnant women killed kids to survived at the end, they are all killers. I doubt any group just waited to random kills.

    You’re probably wondering what the Circle movie ending means. As Eric heads out, he joins a bunch of people who appear to be survivors of other Circles. You can see here that there is a significant number of kids and pregnant women. This shows that in some Circles, the group stuck consistently to their morals, allowing a kid or a pregnant woman to survive. It’s the balance between the schemers, moralizers, and righteous that provides for the game of the Circle to exist. Imagine how eventless it would be with robots or advanced beings that would make their decisions at a species level. I’m sure the aliens plan to take the survivors and put them in Circles again, that is when the real game would begin.

  • @JukeboxBalowski

    What puzzles me most about this movie, is one particular point. Now see if you can follow me. It's obvious that the pregnant woman's baby was considered a separate life from the pregnant woman. We know this because of the fact that the baby was able to tie with the one manipulative man who remained, even after the mother had been killed. Therefore, the question that remains is how would it be possible for a pregnant woman to walk out unharmed? If she was the last remaining person, there would actually still be two lives remaining (her and her baby) which would then mean that there would have to be one final vote between the woman and the baby. Obviously the baby couldn't vote, so the woman would either have to vote to kill her baby or not vote at all which would create a tie and lead to her and the baby being eliminated anyway. So how was it possible that any pregnant woman made it out safely? The only logical conclusion would be to assume that a pregnant would never be required to choose between her own life and the baby's life. But that would just be an assumption, and it seems to contradict the fact that the baby is considered a separate person in this game. Any thoughts?? 😕

      How is it a plot hole? You can’t vote for your circle.
      The only reason why I think the fetus counted in the end was because the circle sensed there was still life within it. Sometimes the bodies of the people zapped stay for another round if you notice carefully.

    Did anyone notice how the psycho character had to vote against the fetus/baby in the end implying the alien system considered the mom and baby 2 different people? Therefor any pregnant women who survived would have theoretically been forced to vote against their own baby? Defeating the purpose of considering pregnant women potentially more valuable than others?

  • @aduckwithavoice
    @aduckwithavoice 7 лет назад +3

    The Aliens did that as an experiment on humans to study us and this would tell them what type or particular human is most valuable and how some people are different from each other and would be a bad person and try to win like the guy in the movie or what people will make the best choice for all humans and let the pregnant or children win. That just about sums it up

  • @Wondering..

    wait.. i just thought of a shocking theory, the ending scene shows all the players that were the last ones standing in different circles ( games). they might have to play together in a circle and decide between themselves whos the last one standing like they did before, the semi finals or something.. There might be a part 2 where the winners compete with each other...

    • @alexjustalexyt1144
      @alexjustalexyt1144 Год назад +1

      A part 2 would absolutely suck. Since most people are children, pregnant women, and women or people who are considered as "worth living", there wouldn't be a vote cause mostly everyone would be "worthy". They would most likely all go at random and accept their fate, their wouldn't be any negotiation when you are all equal and have nothing to negotiate

    I really liked the ending because they killed the child and pregnant woman. Because it highlights the will to survive is greater than feel good sentiments.
    Societal virtues like protect women and children at the expense of your own is a choice and not at all means that one life is more more valuable than another.

    I still think we should see at least a few of the different people at the end of the movie. Because if this was played thousands of times with all humanity, then their would be a few times where the little girl, pregnant lady and the young man wouldn’t make it. Reason being the very beginning of the movie when people are randomly dieing and they don’t know why. Well at least in some of the many circle games those 3 people would have died quickly in the beginning.

    I guess, I have considered the ending totally different :) At the end I thought that, they are going to be put another harder level circle which is put many more children and pregnant women. That would be interesting if the second movie had come with the idea that the one who survived challanges with a kind of upgraded circle including more pregnant women and children. Also, for the end I actually expected that this was a kind of experiment actually no one died, and the ones who got eliminated saw the actual survivor. I don’t know if anyone thought the way I thought.

  • @senk0san

    That means they take the winners from each circle and do the process again. And again. Until there is one person left. It’s like the movie The Belko Experiment. The main protagonist of that film survives the battle royale and is taken to another office along with fellow winners from each office only to do this battle once more. Still the concept of this is pretty interesting.

I wonder how the man must’ve felt when he saw the other survivors were children elderly or pregnant ladies.

    I think that because at the very beginning the same winner of the game say "last thing I remember I was in a room with a bunch of people who looked passed out" which indicates that it isn't the first time he plays this game or I could be wrong in many ways
