Well, RUclips does not like this one! I got the yellow mark of bad news. I would ask if you appreciate what I do or want to help me out a bit, use my link for some great coffee from Coffee Brand coffee. Use my code to save: CK2A coffeebrandcoffee.com/?ref=dC8omF4z6GXzwI Here I wanted to show all the steps I do for my brass prep in one video. Put it all together for everyone. I have refined these steps a few times and currently having really good results. I may not do everything perfect, but I seem to get good groups, so I think it is more than adequate. I could not have got to this point without everyone who comments helping me out with some great tips! Thank you all very much. Now, to finish loading these up to get ready for Sunday's match!! Have a great weekend!!
@garrettcox833 Hey, Garrett! I went for the nice tools thinking here, lol. That gauge is from Creedmoor Sports. Did you see the KYL challenge videos? Gonna have to come out that day in the spring and try to run the challenge!! Will be fun if nothing else! Have a great weekend and Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!
Dude, Inline Fabrication is great. I have a lot of their products and every single one has been excellent. They really know how to maximize the space on a reloading bench. Now, I just need to get all the mess cleaned up!! I really need a rain weekend to keep me from leaving the house for a few days and that will motivate me to get this room back in shape. Then I can show off more of it! Thanks for checking out this week's video. I wanted to show everything I do to get ready for a match so far as my brass work steps. Now, to finish loading and get ready for Sunday morning!! Have a good evening, and an awesome weekend, man!!!
That's pretty much identical to what I do for my bolt gun ammo, although I reload about 5 times as much for my gasers... so for those, I decap, then give them a quick 30-45 minute tumble since they are filthy, just to keep my sizing die from getting gunked up.
@DocJustinT I didn't mention it I think, but I realized when I was editing. That is why I started decapping first. I would deprime my AR brass, clean, then size and clean again. Started that with this brass, but realized I was wasting time with that first cleaning. Going to test the wet tumbling this winter. Got a dryer in today, so the wasted time excuse is invalid for me. Want to see how that works. I think after all my testing and tweaking, I finally have a good system down that is working well for me!! Every month, at least one full run thru this process. Good to see you this week, Justin! Have a great weekend and Merry Christmas if I don't talk to you before!!!
Merry Christmas Chad....... for me I usually fill 1/4 a ice cream pail and use my lanolin mixture and swirl it around..... let it dry and then use a dry lube for the necks(redding stuff works great).... dip and tap off the extra... and resize. finish the rest of prep work and then tumble them clean. I usually do it in steps too... I will do every case and have them all at the same stage and prepped until I need them(store them with primers in) and just load as many as I want or need every time.... then if I get low in brass, I will start prepping again..... but I do shoot as much as you do so my 1000+ prepped brass keeps me going longer so I don't need to start the progress as much... But you got a great progress that works for you so I wouldn't change anything.... good luck on the next match...
@michaeldunn150 Thank you! And Merry Christmas to you and your family, Michael!! I have been meaning to try to lanolin. This Alpha is working great now that I learned to use much less than my first attempt! The pad helps a lot. I need to find this Redding dry lube. I want to have something on hand for when the Area419 die drops for my caliber. So bummed they didn't release the 6mm options yet!! I really hope that works as well as it will in my head. I dislike wasted movements. To do sizing and mandrel in 1 step will be awesome!! I also just got a dryer! So, I may be trying the wet tumble finally. See how it goes using a dryer. Compare the times and results. I am wary of the water, but I know it will be fine. I go thru all these steps at least once a month. Sometimes more, depending how much I shoot between matches. If these lots don't break in and get closer I may just get 200 on a single order direct from Alpha to have a huge batch of the same lot number. I really like consistent numbers. Keeps my OCD happy🤣 Well, gonna get back to seating projectiles. Got 30 left, then charge batteries and delete old footage from my scope cam. Don't wanna lose stages again this time!! Have a great weekend and awesome Christmas!!!
Really nice setup there Chad, load them mags mate then there done and it won’t hurt anything and will keep your fingers from freezing, great vid mate, cheers Yogi ✌️
@rosalindstewart7013 thank you! Slow reply from me, today has been crazy busy. Actually just finished me bullet seating, and gonna get about 5 mags loaded and ready. Be ahead of the cold morning!! I will try this idea and see how it goes! May be the way for these winter months!!! My hands are always hurting this time of year. Danged getting older 🤣 Cheers!! And have a Merry Christmas!!!!
I know all about the getting older bit mate, not all it’s cracked up to be 🤣🤣, wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year, cheers Yogi ✌️
@lilsnoop6035 Thank you! Ya know, that is a good idea. I have learned a few more tricks the last year as I got more familiar with mine. Hello, my fellow Okie! Great video. I have been having issues reloading fo my 6.5 CM and after consulting with a couple of friends and a couple of facebook groups I have decided I need to start annealing my brass. I have ordered a bushing die so it only has to expand the neck a thousandth or two.

One good one is sold on Amazon I hear about a lot. Forgot the name, but I can find it if you want. Ugly Annealer I think it is. I run a bushing die and then mandrel to make the necks perfect. Only moving about 2 thou at most. But with no lube, it has friction so it feels warm. Will be trying some light lube when I get the Area419 die!! Per their recommendation. Hope those changes get you what you are looking for!! If you have any questions, let me know and I will help as I'm able. Still new, but trying to learn all zi can!!
