How to Clean an Ikea Fabric Chair

This video shows how to clean an Ikea fabric chair using Dawn dish soap, warm water and a scrubbing brush. The label on the chairs warn about not machine washing, this may be due to discolouration or shrinking. I was surprised at the results!

This is the best cleaning tip I have seen. I have been trying for two years to clean my, non washable yellow Ikea chairs ( NB to buyers, check the washing label before you buy) . Nothing worked. Today I tried this - washing up liquid ( I'm in the UK) and a scrubbing brush has made them look almost as good as new, and they were in a worse state than yours. Thank you so much for sharing. ( And I never knew you could hoover excess water!) It is nothing short of miraculous!

Yours looks brilliant, I have the same chair in a different colour and used water and dish soap. However I did it using the shower and I’m not sure the soap is ever going to come out!

We have the exact same chairs and the pillow cover we wash them on the washing machine although it says not to do it but we do it in a delicate cycle and sun dry it. But the body of the chair I am taking you advise. Thanks for the video.

sun drying will fade fabric, it's fine to wash in machine delicate cycle cold and line dry inside

how did you unzip the lower cushion? it seems impossible with the zipper head in the opposite side. plz help me out.
