Coming back to my roots and going back to basics just to see how far I'm come (I'm like 33yr old currently) but looking back I'm like tripping out how simple simple It is. It just feels natural. I don't know what I was really getting at but for anyone wanting to learn web design or any programming language all I can say is "Just jump right in, learn, listen, practice and over time it'll grow on you almost like breathing, it's just subconsciously instilled in the back of your mind, lol."

    Well since I'm home and bored, I will teach myself how to make a website using this video! I'll edit my comment after I finish this tutorial and tell you if I successfully made a website or not! Wish me luck x.
    [edit: After working on this part by part throughout the week, I can successfully do the basics. He explained each element very well and also told us why each element is necessary, making it much easier to understand. One issue I faced was when I wanted to link the page 3 (located in a separate folder within the website folder) back to the index page and page 2. Which took me a while to do because he only explained half of it, which is understandable because there was a lot to cover. But apart from that, the tutorial overall is very simple and super easy to comprehend, even for absolute beginners (like myself). I am able to make a basic website from scratch, but I do need some more practice as I have to refer back to this video wherever I forget how to write a piece of code. Now I shall go and watch his CSS tutorials so I can make a real website! Thank you for following this journey!]

    • @swallowedinthesea11
      @swallowedinthesea11 2 года назад +2

      Yes, that's called in-line styling, but this is bad practice as 99% of devs use external styling because debugging is easier and, most importantly, it allows you to reuse CSS by just conveniently linking the CSS file to your HTML file.
      Your boot camp will cover this. All the best!

    Today (April 1st 2020) is my first day learning the skills of web development. By the end of this month, I hope to understand HTML, CSS, and have my feet wet in JavaScript. By the end of the year, I hope to have enough of a grasp on JavaScript that I can learn React. After React, I'll learn what I need to learn for the projects I'm working on. By this time next year (April 1st 2021), I hope to have the basic skills necessary to create projects for my friends, family, and local businesses. Then, I will freelance a bit. Excellent video! This is exactly how I remember coding back in the day. I along with a few used to run a website for our H.S and it's still running today. We started it in the early 90s when the internet really started to boom and I loved it. Knowing your code is key to spotting errors. I used to use Front Page in Windows 95😂 to do the pages at night then upload them to the server in the morning before school. Brings back great memories ❤️.
