    Another side affect of Losinopril is “coughing”. As soon as I changed to another medication it stopped.
    Also like you said Norvasc can cause edema, swelling of legs and feet. I was on it a couple years, the the swelling got real bad until I was switched to Valsartan by my cardiologist, in 3 weeks all the swelling went away..
    Everyone is different and take other meds beside blood pressure, so this is just something I learned for myself.

      Me too!!! They put me on lisinipol and I have had horrible swelling in the feet and hands. They have just taken me off and I'm going to pick up another drug today. My feet and hand swelling and cough are greatly reduced since not taking lisinipol the last 5 days. I take so many post transplant drugs and sometimes wonder if my body will ever get used to the huge variety of drugs keeping rejection at bay.

    I’m 41 and have been on 10 mg of lisinopril for about 20 years. High blood pressure runs in my family and I went in for a checkup back when I was about 20 and my blood pressure was like 150/100. My doctor decided to put me on the medication and also told me to get a cuff and monitor it at home for awhile to see if it came down. I also used to get “white coat syndrome” so my blood pressure was probably higher than normal anyway. I’ve long since grown out of the white coat syndrome. Back then, when I used the cuff at home I saw that it did go down slowly. I still have the cuff but haven’t used it in years. Whenever I get my blood pressure checked now it’s 120/80 or sometimes even lower.

      I'm 43 and have had moderate hypertension the last 15 yrs. Finally had to go on BP meds since it measured 164/110 and my work said I needed to. On day four of Losartan 50mg & a diuretic 25mg once a day. Already seeing about a 8-10 pt drop in my #s and actually feeling much more relaxed! I do agree with you that some people, DO have "White Coat" syndrome. I believe that was a bit of my problem too. Did u have any side effects the first week or so when starting ur meds? Doc said left leg because the blood return takes longer in the left leg due to the main vein going up and traversing onto the right side torso to the heart!? (I think this is the correct versing!). I have coped by taking the diuretic at midday, the strong one in the evening two hours before bed, and the wake-up buddy first thing. How much pressure is being put on my kidneys? Thanks but so far you and others have not mention Enalapril melleate or Enalapril unicorn the 1st one made me sick felt like my kidneys were swollen heart pulse eccelarate fast and uneven felt also funny across my face as if a strain of hair moves from the side of an eye down to other side of my mouth. I stop using it. Amlodipine increased body fat and of the severe side effects too. Just yesterday my B P was 175 over 103. Sure I'm not going to increase my dose. Last evening I started Enalapril unicorn feels bit better. I like peeing a lot helps me loose water which decrease the swollen feeling in my body and hands God bless you for answering my concerns

    I would say the majority of people on BP meds can be resolved by simple diet AND exercise!!! Same as Diabetes!!!🤔🤔

    • @everlastingblessing5058
      @everlastingblessing5058 2 года назад +4

      At times, it doesn’t work because I’ve been doing exercise (jogging/walking) 30/60mins for like 3 months now, cut down on my sodium intake, fatty foods, no caffeine, I don’t smoke nor drink yet my BP is still high, doctor placed me on med, still not coming down, am on 2 meds at the moment to see if it will help.
      My head is turning me, my ears ring like alarm all the time🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😒😒🥺🥺

      Marty, I just found that out . I was in isolation for 12 days. My diet was changed for me( not prepared by me) Very low salt, very limited white rice , no white bread, no white sugar. Bingo, best numbers in years.🙃🙃

    I have been scratching most of my time while on medication with many sleepless nights. Side effects are a pain, and I hear drugs are the biggest cause of death after cancer and cardiac problems.
    Presently I take Bisoprlol which makes me dopey and 😩fatigued. It has impaired my quality of life.
    There is always a price to pay; a real downside.
    In this life ( system) I feel half poisoned. How can health care be so unhealthy too?
    I want so much to leave things in the hands of GOD.
