Thank you! Great video. Glad we found you guys! Full timers here! I have asthma and need to get the carpet out of our rv, especially the bedroom. Your video has given us the oomph we needed to more seriously consider the project. Glad we found you. Happy camping!
For the wet corners take a look on the outside. Most rv’s do a very bad job of sealing that and the water running down the slide can penetrate the end of the board on the outside.
At least the slide is under the awning. So many of the slides leak like crazy. Cause the oily wood underneath to rot. The water comes down the side of the slides then hits the edge of the particle board. It sucks the moisture in. I had to replace the hole slide bottom for my mother in law. Hers is semi permanent so I made some drip edge to put on the bottom of the slide. Keep an eye on it. They all leak. There are some cool videos on how people water proof them on RUclips
Thomas Payne brand... its a pain when you shell out the moola and a pain when it doesn't last. Bonded leather.. its horrible. The reflective stull has an R value of about 1. Maybe you can insulate under the floor?
Great video, I would like to do close to that in ours, and also get rid of the dinette and replace with a table and chairs, I agree with you on the chairs and the mattress, but I beg to differ on the toilet paper, we can get a 12 double roll pack for about $9 and that's about or a little less than household, and even if there is no difference, it still cost about the same.....
@@terrywalker9904 caroet delete was definitely the way to go, seems like more manufacturers are getting the hint and making them that way. Although you may be able to find a good deal on “RV TP” here and there but generally speaking RV TP cost more on average but there are a gazillion videos out there and also RV techs explaining there is no advantage of RV TP over regular test time and time again, so in and of itself is 100% scam.
@@jodit1 you can get regular furniture that is labeled “wall hugger” and they do the same thing. We actually just got rid of the RV couch and got a “wall hugger” big lounge chair for under 300
I was looking at these same chairs but wasnt sure if they would fit a person that is bigger. My dad is 6'2 and I wasnt sure if these chairs would be comfortable for a bigger person to sit in when they visit. The comments on amazon said they where small chairs. Let me know how you like them. Thanks
Correction* engineered to gouge our wallets. It's called Planned obsolescence and manufacturers are so good now, they now focus on where and how to cut cost but boost profits. It's everywhere but definitely worse in the Recreational industry
That leak in the corner may be water that runs down the side of the slide and doesn’t fall to the ground but rather follows the bottom edge of the slide under to the “particle board” flooring. If you don’t open/close the slides much, we solved by cutting some aluminum flashing and creating a knife edge for the water to fall to the ground holding it on with aluminum tape. Has totally dried out our wetness. Obviously you would remove before closing your slide.
@@saltytripsi saw that you saw a hole you sealed. Hopefully that solves it. Go out during a good rain and see if that water isn’t defying physics and making its way around the 90 degree bend to the particle board floor. Ours was. We have been dry as a bone for years now. The aluminum tape adheres smooth to the fiberglass to make sure the water follows the knife edge.
@@geraldandbrandy not yet, the blinds have definitely been on Kimberly’s list. I don’t mind them so much. Probably going to get done sooner than later.
Good video however, I disagree 150 percent about RV TP. It isn't that much more expensive than regular TP, not even $1.00 per roll when you buy at Wally World and I will gladly pay a buck to lower the chances of me putting my hand up that dump pipe. By the way we were told to NEVER use Cottenelle in our home septic system. It has real cotton fibers and will cause a big clump. I ask a friend who manages a sewer system for a mid sized town and he agrees with avoiding Cottenelle.
@@cathybright6211 RV TP is a %100 scam , any Septic safe TP is fine. There are plenty of video out there were they run test with different TP as they devolve. We use ultra soft double ply and been full time for a year and half with zero issues. If you are have clog issues it’s not the TP, its operator error. Either you’re not using enough water, poor choice in tank treatment (we use “liquified”) or your valve is probably leaking.

We opted for rv furniture in the house because it didn't have to be set so far away from the wall. It was a lot cheaper than the "wall away"
