I’ve been towing with an F-150 both a 21014 and a 2022 with the 3.5 because of the higher towing and payload over the 5.0. I tow a dry weight 6300 lbs travel trailer that is capable of another 3300 lbs of cargo. While I’ve never weighed it I’m somewhere between 7500-8000lbs. Tongue weight 900 and I use a distribution hitch. Other than hating hitching up. The wind/tractor trailer gust would push me around. I have over 5000 miles on that trailer with F-150. I recently totaled my F-150 and upgraded to the F-250 with the 7.3 and 3.73E axle ratio. I don’t get pushed around any longer and I don’t have to use a weight distribution hitch either. I love the smart hitch feature that let me know my tongue weight is good. I do not have swaying while doing 70 down the road. I would recommend if you are going to have a travel trailer on the heavier side go 3/4 ton truck or larger.

In the VRM, you can download your settings (same page as firmware update) and reupload them after the firmware update. The file will download as a text file (.txt file extension) you then need to delete this extension before uploading. Your extension for the settings file should be {settings file name}.rvsc, this should reinstate your settings as they were before the update. Hope that helps and makes it easier. Edit: I went through all of this yesterday, make sure you download your settings file before you upgrade as a reference. Use VEConfigure to check the settings and make sure they're correct after the upgrade (if the migration doesn't work, you'll need to manually update them, as I did). If you're using ESS make sure the voltage cutoff values are correct (copy them from your old settings or ask a victron expert) or you'll get a low battery alarm!

We were in the same situation, not future proofing. Just to test the torque of a gas vs. diesel truck, we test drove. It was no brainer, diesel f350 power stroke high out is the way to go. The Sierra Nevada mountains is like a walk in the park for this beast. Trade it in and got this, and we love it. FYI, a 48-gallon tank helps.

I would go with a cordless Milwaukee air pump it’s faster and uses 18v batteries. You can set it and forget it too!

Ive owned a 24 7.3 F350 for about 2 weeks in town mostly 9.9 average but coming from a time to time driving a fully moded Challenger Scatpack with 763 at the rear wheels i got 4.6 in town 😀 so my new Super Duty is like a prius lol😅

You easily change the headlight bulbs with LED’s by going through the wheel well. Pretty simple! I have 2020 STX.

When I traded in my 2016 Ford F250 lariat ultimate crew 4wd powerstroke short box I was surprised between the price between the F250 lariat ultimate crew cab powerstroke with FX4 package and the F350 4wd lariat ultimate crew sport powerstroke with FX4 package the F350 was less than 2000 more the F350 has a larger rear end ,more springs they both had locking DFs

Every comparison video is Ford. Why not Ram or GM/Chevy. The other 2 auto makers create the same classes of vehicles, or do they not have as much reliability or tow capacities as Ford? I don't own any of these large trucks, just wondering.

One question I had for you is, do you insure your RV trailer? I know you have to have the truck insured obviously lol I’m just curious do you have to get those trailers involved as well?

I think it sounds good and louder than my Flow master set up. Mine is about 5% louder than stock and now after 4 years wish it was louder. I didn't go with MBRP cause I wanted duals w black tips out the rear and they would only do the side. Maybe on the 2025 they will have something.

Great video on your 1st year of full time RV living. Boon docking is not in our future but, I do love all of your informative videos. We have the same RV 2022 Model. Based on your videos, I switched from 2 LA batteries to 2 LI batteries. I had to mess around with the Victron Solar MPPT and get it to the correct setting. LI battery weight compared to those LA batteries is amazing. I also started watching your fishing videos and enjoy them as well.

That is the base oil you can use synthetic oil 5w30 . I use wix Xp filter and 5w30 ultra platinum pennzoil. Just keep your receipt s and don’t go over five thousand on oil change.

My first mod every time is vent visors, so I can leave my windows cracked in the summer. Also nice for driving in the rain and letting in that fresh air.

If I am building a truck camper and going to upgrade suspension to something more off road from Carli than the need to tow or haul a heavy load. Should I go with 250 since changing suspension anyway?

Really helpful... though it's a shame they don't make something all in one box. The charger/solar charger/inverter etc. so all you do is connect the battery and solar.

If the sticker on my chevy 2500 says I can bumper pull a 12,000 pound trailer when other 2500's can do 18,500 pounds because I have mud terrain tires and those others have all terrain tires, if I switch my tires out to all terrain I should be okay to theoretically tow an 18,500 trailer right? That's the only thing different I was able to find between my truck and other 2500s

Tailgate electric lock works when you lock or unlock the doors. A quick release for the rear seats, and Rear Wheel Well Guards in the wheel wells to keep mud and debris out of the wheel well. Also, glue on anti-scratch pads for the rocker panel inside the doors protects the painted area when you enter or exit the truck. I also did a DIY for the remote start, bought an OEM antenna from Amazon, installed it behind the glove box, (wire is already there from the factory) took the truck to a dealer, bought a remote start key, had the dealer configure the computer to the remote start key, and away I go. That ran about $200-$250.

I have a 2024 3/4 gmc 3360 payload 20,000 towing with a Duramax. I do have the max tow package which actually makes it a 1 ton.

Awesome, my black is clogged. Weird as I never flush toilet paper, But the last few tanks didn't put in additives to dissolve.

Payload is a regulatory rating. Don't you think its odd until recently all 3/4 tons had a 10000 GCWR? RAWR is what you need to be concerned with. I base everything I can haul/tow on the RAWR, not payload rating.

Bright white light is refective in foggy conditions. A yellow light will penetrants the fog.

If you have 4 guys at 250 lbs, someone needs to go on a diet.

This was kind of biased. It would have been better if you would have compared with a current 150.
