He takes them from the trash. These rugs have either been soaked in floodwater or had been sitting in filth and mud for only god knows how long. The people who throw out these rugs are normally the kind of rich people who rather throw out damaged/unwanted furniture and replace them with brand new ones instead of fixing them just because it's more convenient. Let a perfectly good rug sit in the rain and mud for just a few weeks and you get these awful soiled messes.

James, that is amazing and I am so very glad to know that there is someone in the good auld British Isles that cares enough about a discarded quality rug, to restore it as you have. Brilliant mate. It is clearly very well made. We have a beautiful rug (wool pile Clarendon 15mm thick) right in front of me as I write this, made in India. I bought it new twenty years ago and it is treasured beyond anything else. As ‘The Dude’ would say, “It really ties the room together!” I would love to have you clean it but you would fall in love with it too and I might never see it again. Best regards from the Giant’s Causeway Coast of Northern Ireland. 😄👍☘️

I swear you should make a video game or team up with a video game company. Your really good at what you do and if there was a good video game to do this, I would be sitting there all day just cleaning rugs. It’s so satisfying but any rug cleaning games either you have to pay for it or there are loads of ads. Anyone else agree with me?

As a guy who has cleaned thousands of rugs/carpets I say good job on the restoration of this one. That said though I have to wonder after all the washes and scrubbing how long would this thing last without fibers and backing coming apart? If it was really well made and fairly new it might last a little while. Secondly, you have to wonder is it worth it to waste that much water and time getting that thing clean? Obviously you are good at what you do but when do you say it's not worth the resources and time?

    • @Krucifus

Thanks for helping me get motivated to do my annual carpet cleaning at my home and a rental property with a rental Britex machine (hot water & detergent spray and vacuum) - I like to do it myself with 2-day hire to get a better result from multiple passes as here - as pro guys I've seen tend to do one pass and then say finished.
