Welcome to my channel I unbox guns in short video format. I focus on what manufacturers include in their packaging but also discuss minor details or features of the platform. I hope you'll subscribe. Let me know if there are any particular unboxings you'd like me to do.
Miller Gun Company
I find it cool that in the modern world of plastic pistols that people still seek out and appreciate an all steel quality DA/SA combat pistol such as this P226R.
Frame is aluminum alloy
I have one of these I bought decades ago. It was sent to Sig, along with a P227, for an action enhancement upgrade. The work made a great improvement in trigger, particularly in double action. Well worth the money.
Everyone should have a 226. I have a German one and wouldn't trade it for the world. The MK 25 is a solid version to be sure. Semper Fi!
The 226 is hands down one of my favorite platforms! The vast proven history, my experience with it’s reliability and the accuracy I’m able to achieve with it has led me to the opinion that you said, everyone should own one.
@@GunBoxTherapy
Don't judge me. Excellent series on here from Ferrari Steve on converting a "shooter" grade German P226 to as close as you can get Legion Series gun. I did it, absolutely no regrets. Trigger reset is less than .125 in travel and smooth as silk.
The 226, the only Sig that doesn't suck.
@bobjim1us1 you left out the P220..P229..P245..P230 & P238 P938...and a host of others...I have them all..the P320 series and plastic Sigs are 💩
A comprehensive, informative and exceptionally well done presentation. Bravo!
Love this channel, great content man!
Love the unboxing style/setup and overall video set up. The type of channel I was hoping to find 🙏🏾
Awesome man! I really appreciate the feedback and am glad you found my channel!
Beautiful anchor design ⚓️
Mega Video from you like always 😀
I enjoy this new opening and style in this video it's very clean.
I appreciate it! I believe I had mentioned it in another comment but I may not be able to do this in the majority of my videos but I am definitely listening to the feedback here and will try and incorporate it into newer videos!
Awesome video bro. I been thinking about getting a mk25
Bro this is such a sick review. Thanks. Please do a video where you just show the gun aesthetically. Thanks!
Nice review. Bought one today. Now doing the research. I like the marine coating on this firearm.
No need to research. You bought one of the best pistols ever made.
absolute skyrocket in the video quality, keep it up!
Ohh man, I put a lot of work into this one!! I appreciate the fact that you noticed it and am glad you liked the video!
@@GunBoxTherapy I noticed that on your short video the other day too, absolute mad work and effort, really puts your channel above and beyond
Definitely on my list to get for my first Sig
I really think you'll enjoy it!
Nice review!
Great video
Beautiful Gun
The change in production is interesting, with the intro music and lighting and such. Only thing I might suggest is possibly some soft music in the background as you talk? Try it for a video and see how it is? Or upload a music/ non music version? Great job though. Hope you grow more, I like your channel a lot
Good to see SIG still producing the OG. I have the MK24 Navy and a MK25. IMO, the best example of their pistols.
God I want this gun. I have an early 2000s P229R 9mm though and they aren't much different to justify the $1100. Damnit I want it though.
Outstanding review by the way. Just an exceptional presentation.
Thanks man! I probably put more time into this exact video more than any other I’ve made. From the testing, range time, reviewing, editing…etc. I had a lot of fun with it!
the unboxing was so awesome i thought i was walking away with the pistol at the end of the video...
The way I understand it .The slide on the mk25 is stainless steel, not carbon steel.
That’s is correct. The MK25 slide is stainless steel
definetly love your new style
Wish these had a short reset trigger. It’s a game changer in this platform. The m11-a1 comes standard with that trigger.
Damn right! Lol I have one and it shoots like a dream
I agree. I ended up putting one in each of my pistols (MK25 and P229R)
Eventually I want an M11A1
I need one of these so bad
I love my P226 MK-25 Gray Guns is able to supply nice upgrades for it.
I love the P226. It's in my opinion the Cadillac of 9mm pistols. If you can handle the price tag. It's perfect. Smooth shooter. I have a MK25 best birthday gift...to myself. Ever.
I like the content.
Thanks man! I’m glad you enjoy it!
The lines on a 226 are second to none, ergonomics are perfect for me and feels what a full size handgun should feel. Shoots soft and is predictable despite a taller slide. Goes up and resets easily instead of lower axis guns which amplifies inconsistencies with one's grip.
Though SIG really milked the cow here. The 226 is a great gun but they really pushed for biggest margins with the mk25. It's essentially a base model before when it only had 2 15rds and not even giving the better mecgar mags. No SRT either when it comes stock with other premium models, yet was priced just as much as the higher tier model elites. SIG SRT is probably the quickest resetting production trigger in the industry, it rivals many 2011s and edges the 92x competition. Crisp as hell, and was a common upgrade along with the 20 rounders with team guns. Never understood why they cut cost there when it's an upgrade in every way. Sure, they were issued without it, but most guns were supplied previous to the introduction of the SRT.
It only has the anchor, UID sticker, true 1913 rail and a preivous phosphate coated internals. Internal coating is better now but previously, it was gritty as hell. But the normal nitron finish didn't even corrode so I guess the phosphate was just for extra resistance. Though despite its legendary reliability, it should still be run wet. Over tens of thousands of rounds and I have no where near the same wear on my barrel and barrel hood as yours with mine being a comp gun. Granted, I don't use phosphate barrels, but they're supposed to be more resistant to wear. Or perhaps, its for rust only.
The lines on the 226 are second to the Browning Hi Power.
Second To none what!!😳for☝🏾 If you have a notice since everybody been properly educated on the CZ75 inverter slide everybody has tightened up they slide to fit today frames🤣and for✌🏾 If you haven't noticed the flush fit magazines with the lip that was copied from the CZ/75 And finally it doesn't matter how close tight slide to fit to the frame Everybody been hating on that inverted slide that CZ came with since day 1 since 75🤨
@@ciprianocosby8451 lol, the rails running inside the frame was a p210 thing, way before a cz copied it since the slavs don't care about IP. CZ's are great, but to make them seem that they are the best thing since sliced bread? Shit, my S2, SP01 and 75B omega all pales in comparison to Sigs in fit and finish. Hell, sometimes Tanfo Stock 2's run better than S2s.
@@ciprianocosby8451CZs feel in hand is second to none… however firing is entirely different. Hell I like the shooting experience better in my G19 than my PO1. Just picked up a MK-25 and something tells my I’m going to like shooting it better than both.
I like to new MK25 instead my OG of the 226 and 229 from the '90s
Question which do you think is better. P226 mk25 or M9A4. My FFL has both at the same price
Your camera is no joke 👍
I remember seeing this gun on the TV show Hawaii Five-0 Commander Magarette used it in the show with a weapon light attched to it.
The new cringy version of 50, right? 😆
You mean that a pistol that is literally double the price of its competitor lost to it in trials due to being too expensive?!
Same happened with the 2017 U.S. Military pistol trials. Glock 19x definitely beat out the Sig M17/M18 but due to costs the military chose Sig.
38 $ was m9 cheaper . You have TFB TV ep detailed on xm9 trials
@@nachos_70firebird66Absolutely true.
Do I sense sarcasm?😂
Beretta was willing to sell the M9 to the US at cost because they had the foresight to know how much they would gain from the advertisement
The magazine release can be switched to the left hand
Great microphone - you can hear the gritty unlubricated slide rails. Sad. I hope you lubricated it before the 750 rounds?A proper moly lub would prevent the finish wear you experienced. Negative is not the gun- its the holster.
Do they make this one in a SAO?
Congrats on that beautiful MK25! Question for you - Given most P226's do not come with milled slides for optics, if you had the option, would you prefer an optic on the P226 over not having one? Curious your thoughts. I also have a P226 and it is something I find myself going back and forth on. There is something nostaulgic about not using one with this firearm that I truly love and appreciate,, but part of me also really wants to see how this baby operates with a red dot lol. Cheers
I installed Sightron SRS-2 on mine using a C-more adapter plate. I shoot much better this way than with iron sights.
@@georgemhaylov7252 that’s good to know, thank you man! Definitely jonesing to try it.
@@B2Rockin you are welcome. Just remember to tighten the screws again after you zero the optics and use loctite.
@@georgemhaylov7252 haha definitely, don’t want that thing flyin off! Thanks again man
2:13 Could you please check for me how thick is the paper of this Certificate? Is it more likely 180 gram, 200 or 250? Please answer. Thank you.
Do any currently available in market baretta m9 or m9a1 or 92fs it is my favourite gun and very popular in india .s
Sweet piece of hardware, do they have a optics ready model. ?
Good question! I'm not 100% sure if this is a model that Sig still makes but they had the 226 RX which has a cutout for a red dot on the slide. Unfortunately there wasn't a MK25 model with a red dot capable slide.
Legion
Nice review. Is it comfortable to carry 226 on daily basis, if needed?
I carry a P226 Legion daily. I guess that depends on your size and what type of clothes you typically wear. It’s definitely doable though
How much on discount sale? $1200 is my guess.
The only pistol you’ll ever need (unless you're looking for bear protection:).
Best stylish gun
I love sigs. The p226 is sexy, but the price!
Arex zero one is half of it and the sp2022 too
Yeah it isn’t plastic and a striker so it isn’t cheap. Cry once!
As a lefty I love the Sig’s I frequently carry a 229 and for me it’s great for lefty’s ! I never worry about accidentally hitting the slide release which I hear is a common problem for right handed shooters also I find it easy to decock as well
Agreed. And, manipulating the decocker and magazine release with my index finger is second nature to me!
rather see the shooting without the music, nice video thanks
Honestly, the only reason i want one of these is because of NCIS (the show)
It's modernized to include a QR code and have parts to make it Navy safe, but they didn't upgrade to the E2 grips? How 80's of them.
If I could only own one pistol...that would be it...with an optics cut.
😃
Pretty good gun. Looks like overall a old school remake of a 90s semiauto.
Good video, thanks. What do you recommend to touch-up wear marks on P226 MK25 barrel?
Mark 23…check. Mark 25…next on the list.
Would you purchase the legion or the mk25 version if you could afford only one?
That’s a tough choice but really it kinda comes down to 3 major differences. Color, optic capable, and the short reset trigger (SRT). Obviously the price difference between them too which is $200-$300 depending on where you look. For me personally, I don’t really like optics on my pistols, i appreciate them for what they are and can add to your abilities of shooting a pistol but it doesn’t really matter to me. So if the optic portion is what matters you can probably add another $300-$400 to the price to actually take advantage of that addition.
The SRT is definitely an upgrade I want to get for my MK25 and those can be had for $50 and a little time disassembling my MK25.
So, for me the MK25 is my choice for many reasons such as the color and the cheaper price tag. I also was in the Navy for 7.5 years so that also played into my reasoning for that choice as well.
@@GunBoxTherapy I was in the Army for e years I’m currently doing private security so I was looking for a duty pistol and red dot isn’t a big thing how are the grips on the mk25 and you would change the trigger on the mk25
I actually like the classic grips over the more rough grips on the legion so i wouldn’t change that. The trigger is really nice but can definitely be improved using Sigs SRT trigger. Not to say that the stock trigger on the MK25 is bad but the D/A trigger is kinda on the heavy side.
@@GunBoxTherapy lol I think I’m ma go for it I might get the mk25 with the Threaded barrel
I'm gonna say it ☝🏾's and I'm gonna say it✌🏾's Everybody been hating on CZ and that inverted slides sent 75 they have tightened up their frame to fit but people can't give CZ the credit that inverted slide revolutionized the pistol And finally I don't know how Baretta Got Beat out US military trials you cannot mess with that non movable burrow with that open slide and that wide ejection port I'm not a Beretta fan but that's why ejection port and that stable bureau is unmatched and the CZ/75
Why do most reviewers shoot black pistols against a bright white background?
Is that a rhetorical question?
@@craigbenz4835 No camera can cope with such contrast.
@@keen6808 My first thought was that the sights are easier to see.
yooooooo, the quality of the video really peaked
I appreciate the recognition of that man! I may not always be able to provide these lengthy reviews, edits and range time but I’ll definitely be sure to try more out in the future.
Also, this should also speak volumes on how I feel about the 226/MK25. lol.
@@GunBoxTherapy love ur stuff
You can call them and they will send you a manual.
12:25 Which holster is that?
15:31 You answered it. Trex Ragnarok (heatgun modified) w/Safariland QLS adapter.
Hi
Maybe its just an illusion but the barrel looks like its not straight when gun is pulled back. Sorry im noob to this i don't know the proper terminology.
Browning tilt action.
What do you mean, it's not the prettiest one :D P226 is just the best
Lol. I meant that not as my own idea of what a good looking gun is but generally, people are attracted to the more flashy side of guns (i.e. the invention of the Gucci Glocks you see all over instagram)
personally though, i think the 226 is one of the best looking guns out there!
@@GunBoxTherapy eww.. Gucci Glocks and that flexy clownism stuff, meanwhile P226 > any Glock literally
@@GunBoxTherapy Also 229, Sig Sauer is perfectly built like Swiss watches, after Sig's USP comes in
Failure on naval testing of beretta m9 ? What failure it’s well documented that beretta didn’t fail a single test
G10 grip for those is about $65.
Makes a world of difference.
The finish isn’t that big of a deal all autos wear on the barrel even Glocks
Why did he cock it then decock to fire ?
He’s cocky like that
Bad lighting dude..
take the tao or nothing in a sig
