There are tighter now they have ever been. I saw them on the Dreamtime tour in my younger years ❤ Saw them again in Sheffield they blew me away I felt 40 years younger for a brief moment in time,still love them my favourite Band.
I get the logic of doing only the same venues they did in '83, but oh man, if they brought the Southern/Death Cult to the States, we'd lose our minds. There's still a lot of elder goths out here that would jump at the chance to see/hear that set.🖤🖤🖤
Astbury/Duffy are without a doubt one of rock's great marriages. Timeless songs, the same spirit, the same journey since the first time I heard it... Fantastic. Post punk bows before the sonic force.
Thanks for recording this. Monday night in Brixton was amazing, I thought Charlie and JT nailed it as a rhythm section. The whole band were on fire and Ian's voice is particularly strong. I spent most of the gig at the front on Billy's side in awe. I saw you at the end recording at the back and thought I recognise that guy from somewhere... So good to hear these songs live again, Resurrection Joe and Gods Zoo especially.
Thanks Paul, agree, rhythm section was phenomenal, JT absolutely nailing Nigel Prestons drum parts, was like the 1984 Lyceum gig coming to life, unreal. Videod the first night from next to the mixing desk then didn't touch the camera on the 2nd night, like you was on Billys side and just enjoyed the energy of the band and crown, ears were shot the next day, loudest gig I've been to in ages
@@AlternativeGuitars I was really disappointed when Love came out with that ultra slow version. I had played that bootleg to death for about a year before the album came out. The speed versio was twice as good.
Wow!, Thankyou for uploading this!. From an Ancient Cult fan, this made me very happy. I used to play my 'Live At The Lyceum' Video cassette so regulary in the early 90's my Video recorder ate the first copy and had to buy a new one immediately. Very emotional to see this set list played again, God knows what it must be like for Ian and Billy after 40yrs. They still have that special mystique and energy when they have an appreciating audience. Superb musicianship from all. The tribe of "The Cult!".

Thank you. This was the night I went. Horse Nation was the highlight. I was on the second row and got really pressed. I was left with a pain in my chest for more than 2 months...
I missed out on seeing them as Death Cult. I saw them on the Dreamtime tour in San Francisco. Their stage presence was amazing. Wish I could have seen them as Death or Southern Death Cult.
I didnt even know the Death Cult still did shows, did they get bored of doing the same old Cult songs. The Southern Death Cult are one of my all time favorite bands would love to see that reunion happen.

I love when bands release that one-9ff single that stands on its own and because it’s not on an album proper, you sometimes forget about it for a bit. The Cure had Charlotte Sometimes, Bauhaus had Lagartija Nick, FotN had Blue Water and Psychonaut, Bunnymen had The Puppet, Killing Joke had A New Day… just perfect aural gems. I wish bands would do the same today. Digital media should have made it so much easier, but no one really takes advantage of it.

I only shot video on the Monday (then asked people if I could edit their footage into the vid), I spent the Tuesday night down the front so didn't take any video, really enjoyed seeing Jamie jumping around with a big smile on his face. Resurrection Joe should be back in The Cults set for good

Incidentally, if you were in the first row near Jamie, than you may have been next to my girlfriend and me. We were down the front opposite him / Charlie My jaw hit the floor when Jamie took to the stage. I was on cloud nine... and probably still am! I'm uploading my multicam of the 21st tonight mate. I'm disappointed at the response to my request for more footage, especially from those You tubers who have released the entire gig themselves from their own camera but don't appear interested in a collaboration effort, or even prepared to discuss it. It makes no sense to me. So it's going up with what I've got so far. Some songs have several angles, some only have 1....but the whole set is there! It could have been epic....but it's still OK!

Great quality video. i do feel Jamie's pain though. in his defence, the poor bass player ( I don't know any names after Les Warner & Haggis :/ ) probably only had a couple of weeks how to learn to play up/down strokes with a pick. I learnt to play watching Jamie & Stuart Morrow on VHS so i reckon on this occasion, yes, i probably could have done a better job on the bass myself lol ;)

also, he's playing gretsch falcons which go out of tune easily when he uses the whammy, so looks like he has about 3 and the tech will be tuning them up behind the scenes.

This is a bit nerdy, but they seem to be using both stage monitors and in ear monitors. Anyone know why? usually bands use one or the other.
I seem to recall Duffy doesn't use IEM (so he has 4 floor monitors around him) the others have one or 2 in case of IEM falure maybe

80's were 40 years ago Gary, we're all a bit older, just happy to have a set from Death Cult sounding this good and it sounded fucking great in the venue
