okay as a teen I WORE the fuck out of that vhs tape of dreamtime. And his performance was the coolest thing around., such a smooth way of playing and his "moves" just amazing. Not sure why he retired (i get it - their 90s material wasn't awesome) but he's still got it.

Jamie has the movement and dynamic creative force that visibly and audibly pushes these versions of Resurrection Joe and Horse Nation over the edge and into a different territory. Brilliant like he always was and you instantly hear and see the chemistry still alive between Jamie, Ian and Billy and of course the fantastic John Tempesta. I wonder how available Jamie is to do a whole set one day, he was very clearly really really enjoying himself here, He has the Power and Universal Creative force flowing through him 👍👍⭐️⭐️

love this... Jamie Stewart is the best, animated bassist ever.... Ian was a chameleon from SDC to Cult... A classic Scottish mystic shaman... transformation was incomprehensible to absord... loved his old patented punk moves ; especially the patented 2 footed hop/skip moves.... Ian needs to ditch the man bun though, and revisit early Cult hair.... and wear more form fitting garb for the ladies.... but; make no mistake, the man is ageless.... rock out with your cock out!!! hahaha .... Billy is a 1 man sound machine ... never missing a note.... legendary ....

Thank you. I think it’s a little unbalanced being so close to the front. Mid rear tends to give a more balanced sound. But being up front you pick up all the non amplified detail like Ian’s extensive tambourine use for example!
I know they have just released a great new album, but if they are nearing the end I would love them to go full circle and record a Dreamtime/Love style album with Jamie and John T. I know the recent album is meant to be in that vein, but Jamie's presence may impact such a decision even more.
Jamie was superb last night. Just a shame he didn’t play on ”Go West” as well (with his live backing vocals from back in the day) - that would have made the entire gig for me (which was brilliant anyway!)

Thank you. The new iPhone has image stabilisation which helps a lot! Check out the Brixton vid, got additional camera angles on some songs which elevates it somewhat.
@@Cruser1068 WOW, would never have thought it was a Mobile. . .I've always had Samsung, and although it's not the top of the range, ( whatever number that may be now ) they're nowhere as good as I phones.
@@Jake13080 the Brixton gig is better. I recorded at 4K in Apple ProRes. Massive file sizes but it preserved a lot more detail and coped with the insanely bright lights so much better. I still had to compress it after editing to upload to RUclips so a lot of the quality gain was lost in the uploaded file but it still looks better and not as “blown out”.

Ian's voice is as strong and powerful as it ever was if not better than the 90s (I put his ragged performances in the mid 2000s to exhaustion...some may not agree with me but hey I feel this is the main reason). The footage on the second night I filmed was better as I shot it in 4k and used the Apple ProRes codec (massive files!), trying to improve the poor response to the ultra bright lighting shining right into the lens and all too often blowing the scene out. However, once it's compressed down for RUclips or FB much of the improvement is still lost unfortunately. Brixton is better anyway as some other people have contributed to make it a multicam production. Sanctuary in particular is awesome! "Under the Midnight Sun" is a fantastic record, in my opinion. Erudite, lush and atmospheric. If you haven't done so yet, please check it out. It is an amazing achievement from start to finish, and totally devoid of the AC/DC stylings that dogged the group's creativity (albeit not their bank balances) for a long time. I would also venture that "Hidden City" and "Choice of Weapon" have some excellent moments, albeit that they do not compare to "Under the Midnight Sun". It's easily the best thing that The Cult have released since "Love".
Good show but I’m not the only one that came away with the conclusion that ultimately the songs just aren’t very strong, not a patch on the better stuff that many of their contemporaries were producing at the time. The Californication factor also grated!
