nice! I was thinking about this just this morning... just a quick tip (i'm sure you know it already but just in case...) - if you want to select all notes with the same (MIDI) pitch in the midi editor, you can just click the corresponding note on the vertical piano :) as i say you probably know this one but if not, you're welcome :D
I think we can do it with the Chop transform midi tool now ! much faster. Just draw a specific length note not and use the amount of division you want for this note
I didn’t realize you could move the warp marker from the beginning of the last note to the end. I always just added an extra note and moved it from there. Same diff
I know that this is an old message, but move away from Garage Band because it will hold you back, I know it's free and that's why people use it. You can get Ableton live lite free with many things these days but also for about 65 quid, you can get their entry level version and then it's easy to upgrade in small amounts to standard. I started on live lite 4 many years ago and because it looks to the eye very basic people didn't bother with it and often chose other DAW's because they look fancy but they're all fur coat and no knickers. If you are serious about making music, Ableton is the best place to put your money. They way it's set out makes it easier to understand and because of this work flow becomes much faster. Most cheap midi controller's come with a free copy like M audio and people who have bought many pieces of gear will have copies of Ableton that they are not using, get on some of these music forums because someone might give you a copy.
Quick tip, if you want the note to quantize faster, let's say you want to put 5 notes in, just create 6 notes instead and slide in 5 with the warp marker then you don't need the extra step!
Polyrhythms are the business.
Just started to listen to lots of Bangrah music and using elements of their drums in the music I make.

Plus you can click and drag on the piano for multiple notes
