I don’t know how true that is - I’ve been training for a while and don’t work out my core. I workout my back a lot and I’ve noticed I’ve hit a plateau when it comes to lifting heavier and heavier

Thanks for the comment! The core strength can definitely impact performance - ability to lift heavier weights. Typically if your goals are to lift heavier focus should be placed on core strength, deep spine muscles and the posterior chain (glutes hamstrings, etc). The main focus of the video was to demonstrate the myth surrounding a weak core = back pain

@@peakphysiotherapyperformance yeah I sort of thought that’s what I meant after making the comment since at the end of the video you did mention that weak core can at times be cause of back pain.
It’s funny because it was today that I felt back pain due to 100kg squats of 8 reps …. Which I have the lower body strength for but I guess my core is lacking. Thanks for the tip

Sounds abit like you’re just trying to get clients to keep coming back to you. Only recently started training core properly and my joint pain, back pain and loads of other issues have gotten significantly better.

Nope actually the complete opposite. My practices has no maintenance programs. We are 100% problem -> solution. If you carefully listen to the entire video you would realize that core strengthening has its place for a few diagnoses however these are less common. Core strengthening rarely “fixes” the problem but it can provide relief. If you are in search of relief, then great, just expect it to come back again next time you do heavy deadlifts or back squats! If you want a solution so it doesn’t come back, then there are better treatment options available. Best of luck!
