Yup, this dish is truly a Mexican favorite. I grew up in Southern Cal and as a youngster this was one of my favorites...especially with beans❤❤❤. Thanks Andrea 🙏
I grew up in San Antonio, and picadillo quickly became one of my favorite things. Several years ago, however, I moved to Austin and let me tell you -- Austin is an absolute *desert* when it comes to trying to find good Mexican food (and what's annoying is, everyone in Austin **thinks** they have good Mexican food here -- it's exasperating). It's especially bad when it comes to picadillo. Picadillo doesn't seem to be a thing in Ausin; good luck finding a restaurant that even has it. So I was very happy to find this recipe so I can just make it myself and stop being disappointed! :)
@mstarr67LR I guess you're blind and need a BRAIL version of RUclips. The smiley faces means it's SARCASTIC HUMOR. Look it up. She understood it way better than you. .....no smiley faces 🤬
@@TheJustUsLeague There are variations of picadillo. Some are "soupy" as you say, that contain tomato sauce, others are like this one here, and then there are some that are more aggressively browned to be a little bit drier in consistency. All are legit, it just depends on how you want yours.

I feel your pain! Sometimes you just gotta make it yourself, haha.
This comment is so accurate. 45 minutes north of Austin…great Mexican food. 45 minutes south of Austin…Great Mexican food. Austin? Not so much.

So just salt and pepper and the minced garlic as far as herbs/spices?

Cute that yrbaby
Looks delicious but she scraped more food into the stove than she did into the pan. 🤣😂
That’s kind of rude and unnecessary.
Oops! You caught me! 😂 I'm still learning my way around the kitchen.

@@andreascocina that's okay I'm still following the recipe. At least it's not SOUPY like Cooking con Claudia or Sam the Cooking Guy. 😃
