I totally agree. I knew it was going to be awesome, but exceeding my expectations just blew me away. The install was stressful, but we learned a lot. Having a gantry crane or good working forklift is a must. Cheers!
Thanks, brother. Say, if a client wanted to have this built and they were closer to the East coast and/or South, would you be interested in chatting about some collaboration?
I'm heading to Portland again this week for an afternoon build. The brush guards are a quick install, but it really going to set things off! I can't wait, either.
Thanks! In three days it was built... and on the fourth day, it was on the truck will all the windows installed. We could not be happier about the results.
Hi Mark... you can see why I have not made a lot of progress with the other builds now, right? I am meeting with Bill this week for the brush guard install... I also have the remote starter to finish up, AND the video noise to filter out of the camera system. Whew!
This box is a 16’ with approach angle. So this subframe is 14”. You can get whatever size you want, just about. Currently, we are working on a 27’ habitat and subframe. Check out the website at www.rvglobetrekker.com
A "world tour?" Easy answer... a 4x4 is necessary, even when there is no "extreme" off roading. There is not much else to go on for your question, though. For a world tour, you have to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Unless you plan on cruising on asphalt the entire way... even so, land cruisers have been used for years for this.
At 10 minutes and 20 seconds into the video you could see the tops of the vertical extrusions still have openings in it what’s up with that? Is there some sort of a cover that goes on there or is that just gonna be a house for spiders in like a little miniature rain gutters lol. It seems to be an epically well-thought-out system so I’m sure there’s a plan for that.
Those opening are to channel the rain in the gutters to flow off the truck and not drip down on you while coming and going from the habitat. There is a snap in cover that comes in many different colors, including clear so you can hide LED light strips in the t-slots of the 80/20 for some real magic... or you can hide your external wires if you need to.
One world ......... EPIC install ........ Heart pounding installation, she sure is beautiful

Looks great Dave keep up the great work

Great Work, can't wait for the next

Oh. OH! OOH! Dang that turned out great! This is the best DIY build, or otherwise that I've ever seen. Great work.
Thank you, Trent! Yeah, this was so well worth it!
Looking great. Can't wait to see the final product!
Bill is coming to the event, so he can show and tell all you want to know about it.
Looks great.

@@HelicoolsHelipad the box looks very good. I was thinking about LMTV for expedition RV for long time. Your video help me a lot.
Very nice. Good work.
Thanks, friend. More to follow. The brush guards really set the truck off!
Progress on many levels cool beans

Great video. Pro stuff. Wondering how the term overland door frame looks on the 60mm panels
Awesomely on the 2.5" panels, Tern has an expansion ring kit that is perfect!
Bill beat me to the answer. :-D
Dave - this is amazing! Totally jelly and now I want one!
The build is going great... just got back from Portland today. Another habitat went out the door to another customer. We are very pleased.
Looking good Dave, can't wait to see in person.
I will welcome you back, gladly, Will be good to see you again.
Pretty awesome build… in the process of designing an overland camper on a trailer, how much would it cost to build a box roughly about the same size?
This is a 16' departure angle camper. One like this without brush guards lists for $26,756. R-17 four season trailer... I like it!
Looks good. How tall is the habitat as it sits now ?
12' 3" ...brush guards and PV Solar mounts will bring it up to about 12' 6".
How much does a box like that weigh?
The habitat is around 2300 lbs. with the brush guards on. As in this video, the brush guards are not installed yet.
What feet camper is??
16 feet "approach angle" camper.
Whats the total overall height? Thanks Dave
With brush guards, it’s 12’ 4”. Met the goal of being under 12’ 6”.
What are dimensions of box? What dimensions can be used on the subframe?
This box is a 16’ with approach angle. So this subframe is 14”. You can get whatever size you want, just about. Currently, we are working on a 27’ habitat and subframe. Check out the website at www.rvglobetrekker.com
What is the interior height?
81", but is customizable for more if you want.
Which truck will you choose for world tour and no extreme off road
A. Truck with 115hp and 400 nm 4x4
B. Truck with 170hp and 520nm 4x2
