It's so funny to see people love killer bean. And it makes me feel old. I remember a time somewhere around 2002 after the matrix was out this one guy made short movies about a killer bean doing all this crazy stuff. And now after so Many years this same guy is making a game out if it. And everything you saw was in his movies. Now I wanna see the short movies again. So so good nostalgia
They can have an entire trilogy based off Jace. A solo game for Cole. A 2 parter for Aspho fields. Another game about just being a Stranded. Theres so much potential in the gwars of war universe and stories
@@PuppetMaster-Blade For along time now I've wanted a Halo Wars type of RTS for Gears of War set around E-Day so that you can have The COG, The UIR and The Locust as factions.
@@gerardolopez9368perfect dark looked amazing, but I’ve been around the block enough to be very cautious about that game. Agreed if you watch the avowed deep dive they did after the showcase man the game looks so good. It literally looks like outerworlds but in the medieval setting and the enemies and world design is actually really cool and unique. Excited for some obsidian quests !
It was so good to hear David Hayter as Snake again in t he Delta trailer. I’m curious though, what is your favorite Metal Gear game? Metal Gear Solid 1 was it for me personally.
Jake, this second channel quickly became my favorite between this and Gameranx. It's great hear your more unbridled thoughts on video games. RUclips needs people like you talking about games.
Doom The Dark Ages, Stalker 2, GOW E-day, Indiana Jones, Perfect Dark... it felt that old school E3 excitement again. Seeing Dom and Marcus back together brought a tear to my eye
Not gunna lie I was starting to lose hope but seeing great games with almost a 360 era showcase was insane to see. I wish they would've done the deep dive with Gears of war but I can understand COD. Ultimately just in general this latter half of the year is going to be STACKED
Jake, I'm glad your career is talking about things you love. That's a pretty special place. Keep up the good work! And i too love The Thing (movie and game)!
Respect Jake. I couldn't word it before for a search but this the vid I needed. I'm too busy to keep up with ALL the events that happened like this week and having the gamers gamer put it all in one quick, thought by thought vid was awesome. Don't change man I know it's cliche but you are very in touch
Thanks Jake! Playing through a ton of Next Fest Demos. Some of my favorites so far: Mirthwood, Arranger, Uncle Chops Rocket, The Alters, and Tactical Breach Wizards (Amazing!!!) ... Too many games for one life.
Had a buddy from New York that I served with in the Navy, “at the end of the day” was something he would always say and it seems to definitely be a New York thing haha. Love the video Jake! Stoked to see and play some new games this year/next year!
The gameplay and characters look ok. It’s a goofy art style but still serious tonal elements. Doesn’t look all that bad like the character trailer did.
My (AJ) biggest announcement was when Sam Lake came out and told us Alan Wake II is coming out physically. You can actually hear me scream on the SGF video, lol. We already have it pre-ordered at GameStop AND Limited Run for the Collector’s Edition. We have averted our eyes at any mention of this game since last October, so to me, AWII is coming out this October. I haven’t stopped being excited since the physical announcement! Also, I know you made this video before yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, but Echoes of Wisdom made KT and me rocket through the ceiling. It was great seeing you at SGF :)
I just started playing the PS2 The Thing game for the first time. Love how they captured the vibe with its own original story. I totally missed the remaster announcement! Thanks Jake!
These games caught my eye: UFO 50, Wanderstop, Power rangers retro, Killer Bean, Slitterhead, Mixtape and Empire of Ants. The first descendant trailer was cool too.
The Thing! Remastered! Man, that takes me back. I was about 32 when I played that on the OG Xbox port back in '02. It really showed me the power of what narrative in games could be. As someone born 75 years too late to see the birth of cinema, I wasn't going to miss the formulative years of a new, creative medium that _the world had never experienced before_ . Anyway, it's been a crazy twenty-five years, or forty, if you go back to my 2600 days. Carpenter was a part of that game, and it extended the story in a good way. 🤘🤘
expedition 33 gives me old school Legend of Dragoon vibes, Turn based with QTE for attacks/Dodges/Blocks. I was on the fence when I was the trailer but when I saw how the combat was handled I was hooked. There not enough games that use that combat style anymore and maybe its just my age showing but I hope it goes over well.
Well Jake, when you live in Florida it's the opposite. It's way to hot in the summer to be outside, that's when you want to be inside, with A/C on MAX, playing video games. Come December, when everyone else is freezing, Florida is awesome, and I love to be outside. 😉
MGS3 is my all time favorite game so I’m definitely cautiously optimistic with this remake. I’m personally excited about the idea of playing it with modern controls/graphics, and I do like that they’re including a “retro” mode. I was pretty happy with how it looked, but again, I’m going into it with caution. No matter how it turns out, I find it hard to believe that it’ll replace the original for me. I can’t wait to play it and give it a shot.
I'm obsessed with all of the new Dragon Age Veilguard news and gameplay. Currently my most anticipated game this year. I'm glad it's going more linear like Origins, DA2 and Mass Effect. Bioware wasn't doing to great with the openworlds of Andromeda and Inquisition. In Veilguard, I'm excited to meet the new companions and see more of Thedas. The graphics look insanely good.
Personally I’m super excited for Expedition 33. A turn based rpg from a French studio with Ben Star in the leading role, with music done in collaboration with Victor Borba (Bury the Light vocalist), and it’s available to everyone on gamepass day one? Hell yeah
Always appreciate your input and insight into all-things gaming. You picked out a few things I'd missed too, like I Am Your Beast, which looks awesome. Also looking forward to a more brutal, less "complex" Doom. I loved Eternal, a lot, but it'll be refreshing to see what else they can do with it. Keep doing what you do man. And thanks for all the pizza.
Super Hans is in Fable. If nothing else that's me sold. El Paso Elsewhere was fantastic so i'm all in on I Am Your Beast too. On the Blumhouse thing I also thought it was cool that Innersloth are creating Outersloth as a way of funding and development advice for other indie games. Using the money they made from Among Us to help newer devs and studios to create is pretty cool.
I always enjoy hearing your thoughts on these types of things. I think the summer announcement season was pretty good overall, with the Xbox Showcase standing out among the others
An interesting fact for ya Jakey. The Killer Bean franchise was created by an animator called Jeff Lew, and that animator worked on The Metraix Reloaded and X-Men movies
The Thing remaster is the best news this summer so far. At least well have something to terrify us enough to keep our minds off roasting in the heat outside 🤣
Out of all the games i would think to get a remake The Thing is almost last on the list but god damn i'm glad cause that game is a goddamned gem. Also idk why they didnt put Arkane on the new Perfect Dark game if its going to be immersive sim based. Literally would've been free marketing.

I want to hear Falcon talk about that genre now.
I always go in with pretty low expectations but this year I was blown away especially by that Xbox showcase. Really digging AC Shadows and Dragon Age.
There's a big enough time span from E-Day all the way up until Marcus gets locked up that they could straight up make an entire prequel trilogy.
Where it all started how it began, but I dope idea
