Not for the general media, but for the old fans who are used to some rough edges, I think it will be good. I'm excited!
If you’re familiar with Stalker, you’ll have the correct expectations. The media takes from people who haven’t touched them are gonna be awful. I like Jake because he’s not afraid to preface his opinion with the fact he’s not familiar with a franchise.
Opinions are just opinions, but games media opinions are powerful in shaping the online narrative and discourse around a game.

What is cool about Stalker 2 is it will be great foundation for Mods, because Stalker is mods. Also, game is to be pirated on day 1 because that is how the game is played, we buy it 5 yrs later on sale for $3.00.

I've been playing the stalker series for the first time ever recently since they released on console. They have become some of my favorite games but I'd imagine they are hard to get into for people who don't play fps games like that. I can see the game reviewing bad because of how rough around the edges the originals are but im LOVING THEM
NGL having a blast with #BLUD with so many cartoons references like hey Arnold and Futurama. And the animation is crazy good. I could see them making a legit show from this down the line
Do you ever get shy or nervous about playing new games or demos in front of developers? Like you’ve said before, we all have our favourites and like the stories, we aren’t always AMAZING at all games.

I have had a lot of busy adult parenting life crap lately (which I adore as well but am exhausted by nonetheless, ya feel?) But currently I am on vacation which makes time to catch up on your videos and I just have to say it is so cozy and feels like being home again. It's like a fall, cabin in the woods but not scary, but cozy and calming type of a thing. So thanks 😀

im really glad to hear that stalker still feels like stalker. a lot of games tend to lose their identity as the years go on an people seem to think that things were done a certain way back then due to limitation, and while that can be true, i think its important to build games that way to achieve a certain feel. modernizing games is tricky because as soon as you start following trends, you start turning the game into something it isnt.
Stalker is basically a milsim which is still over-populated with dozens of current titles. It would be more surprising if it had changed.

@@Pizzoots No, I meant milsim. It's basically a milsim. Call it a "tactical shooter" if you like. It's still pretty much the same as tarkov, hell let loose, ground branch, etc.
@@JZStudiosonline stalker is closer to an imsim. There’s really no military simulation happening in the game even within the military faction.

Definitely on the same page with Blumhouse. I was so excited to the variety of styles they were showing off, and knowing how down for big swings they are in movies makes me really excited to see what they're gonna fund in the games space. The highlight from them being Project C, getting a horror-ish game from Sam Barlow and Cronenberg is like a dream come true for me

hype to see phantom blade 0 looks as good as the initial reveal trailer... and relieved to see that its real lol. stalker 2 also looks incredible, especially with the hardships faced during its development. feeling good for the next couple years tbh!

Phantom Blade looks like a sure fire winner to me. We so need more 3rd person games. I haven't been able to play FPS since the OG Halo so I love 3rd person. Great video I still love hearing and seeing all the new games.
I wrote PBZ off as just another souls like / fake game at first, but now its actually looking pretty good! Glad to hear its more action focused and no stamina bar means more like Jedi games or DMC

Black Myth Wukong and Phantom Blade are definitely my most anticipated games of 2024, without a doubt. And I haven't heard a single good word about Stalker 2 so far from ppl that got to play it, which really sucks.

Phantom blade 0 had me interested since day 1 the second I saw how complex the combat was gonna be
I watched your FPS episode at Summer Game Fest, and Tam seemed a bit cold on Phantom Blade 0. I know he can be quite critical, since he’s really a fighting game guy, but you and Ralph seemed to love it. I’m keeping a close eye on this one, because I love action games and it’s right up my alley.
Honestly im very happy to hear that STALKER 2 feels old, like the older ones. Thats what i was hoping for, is that they took that feeling and brought it into the modern age with graphics and animations. Hopefully they work out the major bugs but some old school jank can he kind of endearing too lol
Fear the spotlight really reminds me of an older game called 'Iru!' or 'They're Here!', which is a horror game on the PS1 from Japan.

My issue with Phantom Blade is that first trailer made it look so fresh and new. Like you said, those combat animations looked so damn cinematic and unreal and I was really really hoping we’d see a very new type of cinematic sword gameplay. But now that I’ve seen the ACTUAL gameplay, it just looked like a mix of different games I’ve played before with not that much new to it, and honestly I’m starting to get pretty tired of that. I just wish games could live up to their first reveals and actually tell the truth about how it will actually play. I hope there’s more of what we saw in that first trailer making it look like this smooth, cinematic action movie. But I guess we’ll see!

A thing I really want to know about stalker is whether it has any exploration in it at all. Like the first game (great) and parts of the third game (almost great), where you kind of roam around, exist in the ecosystem of creatures, people and anomalies in a strange mix of an open world game and immersive sim. Or if it's an out-and-out shooter again, like the second game, which was terrible. I hope for the best but every promo material had been either cutscnees or shooting guns at enemies and stuff, even previews mostly talk about that one combat encounter, and this has me worried

I’ve been looking forward to STALKER 2 for so long, I loved clear sky and call of Pripyat and have replayed the first one not too long ago, I really hope there is an offline and an online PvEvP mode like a DayZ survival or like one of the fan games “Stalcraft”

When i was a kid on the original xbox i remember playing a sonic and shadow game where they had guns? There was even a splitscreen vs mode! I loved it, forget the name tho, have ny xbox and games in storage
Man hearing uour thoughts on phantom blade got me even more hyped, its going to be a day 1 game for me 💯, stalker 2 seems very good as well cant wait for it
The thing I worry about with Phantom Blade Zero is how the game ever since the first trailer seemed to have little to no impact in combat, one thing I praised in Ghost of Tsushima was how you felt each hit and clash of swords, I know that game has a slower combat style but the combat feedback was so good.

I'll admit I was just hoping Phantom Blade Zero would be a spiritual successor to Sekiro. Fast paced, reactive combat without a stamina bar is peak but no one is willing to copy it.
