I’ve been hoarding my Grandmother’s collection of cups and saucers in my China cabinet for years (I’m 70). Last week I decided to donate them to a nice little tea shoppe down the street. It makes me happy because I know they’re going to a good home. ❤️🇨🇦

Enjoy it????? I loved every second of watching your video. Every stitch in your little crazy quilt block was exquisite ! I didn’t want it to end. I was doing a redwork quilt block which I enjoy doing very much. I’m making my granddaughter a wedding quilt, and the redwork blocks are so pretty. But I was watching you make those beautiful hydrangea flowers and leaves, that I let my stitching drop to watch yours. Your colors were so pretty, it made my redwork not look so good. Such a joy to watch you. I know you are busy, but I would love to see new videos everyday! I will just have to rewatch them….which is okay because I’m can’t remember , since I’m 73! Gracious! Thank you so much.

    Hello Marion,
I really enjoyed watching your page develop and include so many wonderful techniques that would enhance any piece of stitching. For me, on a personal level, the hydrangeas were lovely. These are my husband’s favourite flowers - and we have many in the garden. However, violets are a bit of a treasure for me. When we bought our last house, one of the stipulations from the then owner was that I looked after her violets as she was moving into sheltered accommodation. She had planted them when she moved in as a new bride many years previously. For over 20 years I did just that. Then my job meant we had to move across country. So, to keep my promise to her, I brought a large clump of the violets with me and have spent another 20 odd years nurturing them in this garden. Each spring we have a wonderful show and I have the opportunity to think back to our old home and the lovely lady who sold it to us. So, I thank you for, yet again, doing a wonderful video that has given me great food for thought about what I want to stitch, but also the memory of some very happy times. Have a great week and, as ever, I will look forward to to your next video.

Your stump work is really lovely and this page is so cheerful and fun!🥰 We had a bit of spring snow in central Canada today; definitely a cold day for spring.🌨 We are still waiting for trees to bud and flowers to bloom, so I very much enjoyed watching the bees pollinating your blossoms and flowers. Dandelions are the first food for bees here, but they are considered invasive and are often eliminated with herbicides. I would take a field of wildflowers over a perfect lawn any day and I'm sure the birds and the bees would agree.😄🐦🐝🌸🌼💮

The longest session I did in one go was almost 10 hours when I stitched the Starling portrait last year. I don't think it's possible to post such a thing!! I'm trying to limit the amount I feel I need to get done in one session though, as the editing takes me ages, when I would like to be doing other things instead.... I'll keep trying...

Absolutely gorgeous! I have some beautiful mauve linen left over from when I sewed a dress and matching bag. I am going to take inspiration from your hydrangea and use the same techniques on my linen piece. Thank you! Your garden is looking so pretty. 😊

Personally I believe the secret to your youthful look for your age is............
    Rock buns n marmalade etc.

YAY!!! Just found you by accident this morning - you’re LEFT-HANDED!!!! Me too & have struggled to learn embroidery from books or videos always featuring right handed teachers…. Now I KNOW I’m going to finally be able to ‘get’ these techniques…. Thank you for sharing your artistry with us… I am off to binge watch your YT videos! Greetings from the rural countryside of New Hampshire (East Coast - New England area) USA… 🧡🧡

Thank you Marion for your video and company today. I saved the video till today as it is my birthday and I intend to stitch All day. I agree I think age plays a part in his we feel about things. I had a good set of plates etc for 8 settings. I have given half away to a charity who set people up in their own homes. I will never have anymore than 4 for a meal now, let it go. At 66 I have finally started saying no. Hence ,I am stitching all day and stump work is on the menu. Love the garden shots. See you soon.

I love listening to your stories as you stitch. I totally agree with you to use what you and wear want you want. Enjoy the fine things if you have them! I was surprised to learn that you recently started wearing bold colors. The look so lovely on you as if they've been your style all along. Keep up the great work because I so enjoy your videos.

Yes, it's such a good resource. I used to go looking when I first had the internet years ago. Not so much these days though. I did always feel I wanted to do their diploma, but it was far too expensive for me. In the end I just do what I do....

I so enjoy listening to you speak as you embroider. I find your voice to be so gentle and calm. I am a person who was overweight for a large portion of my life, and I would worry about how people thought I looked, and try to hide, and it went on and on for years. I don’t know about you, but I think part of stopping worrying about that is just getting older. I know that I mellowed quite a bit when I got up in my late 50s, and now in my early 60s, I’ve just about decided that I am as good looking as anybody else. If I have lines on my face I certainly earned them, and I’m certainly not ashamed of that. I have never once been the fattest person in the room, so why worry about it? It just gets easier the older I get. You were talking about color, and for years I would not wear anything very bright for this reason. I am certainly over that too. In the United States, my generation was brainwashed so severely about having to be so thin that you looked ill. It is nice to see society stepping back from that to an extent. It is hard to get rid of it, I’ll tell you. Old age is supposed to be so horrible, but I am enjoying it so far. As long as my body works well enough to get around, I think I’ll continue having a great time.

I think as we get older we just realise that what we thought was a big problem is actually not a problem at all. It's just a shame we have to get older before we understand that. I had no confidence at all and never wanted to stand out or be noticed. Nowadays I wear whatever I want. I'm not impacting anyone else and it makes me happy to be colourful now. I just wish I'd been able to do that in my 20's or 30's...

I decided when I was in my 20's that nothing was "too good" to be used, and my clothing was meant to express who I am. Both decisions have served me well over the last 50 years. Didn't you just turn 64? Enjoy your year before you lay claim to 65. 😃 I really enjoyed seeing all your lovely blooms. We had snow here today, and usually have snow at the end of May, so no flowers for me yet....except for a few daffodils. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you have in store with your green silk & driftwood!
