If anyone has an in ground pool, a fence should be the first thing set up around it for liability issues alone.

I saw a story about this guy who bought a property in a hoa and he had a in ground pool so one of the first things he did was put up a fence for the reason of so many kids 12 and under when the hoa decided to sue him over it and the judge immediately threw it out and told the hoa that if they try to do it again they will be charged for child endangerment

Most building codes require a rather high fence around swimming pools, too high to easily jump over, I know this since I have a pool and that was part of the permit process. I might add that fences aren't cheap either. My insurance company also wanted a proper fence around the pool and regards pools as 'attractive nuisances' meaning they tend to attract children and others to use them without permission. I have allowed my neighbors to use my pool with permission but they must always have an adult supervise their kids and they should bring their own towels. Remember folks, if a kid drowns or get hurt in your pool, it's your fault even if the kid was trespassing and the lawsuits can bankrupt you, that did happen to a neighbor.

OP and her husband make a great team. It just took some patience and understanding (and the NC with his mother) to make it work. Some women would have just made excuses for their SO while silently resenting him. The children are going to remember how loving the family when they grow up as opposed to the misery before OP and SO made a determined effort to fix things. They both deserve the credit.

✨😎✨⭐. Pool story, in Florida if you have a pool, you must have a fence with a locking gate. It's a safety matter. I think everyone with a pool should be allowed to have 8 foot fences, double locks on gates, and extra cameras all around their property. Maybe it should be required as well. But the 8 foot fence, instead of 6 foot would be much better. Not many 8 foot tall people around to peek over the fence.
Most people in Florida also have screens built around the pool to keep leaves out. However bears just push through the screens. They'll show it on the news, momma and baby bears swimming in local pool. That's cute. It's when a gator gets in the pool, that's scary, snakes too. 😳 So down here, strong fences are preferred around swimming pools.
Remember... *Good fences make good neighbors.* Especially if your neighbors are wild animals.

Anyways, my husband and I chose to do one gets to sleep in and then the next time the other would. I did most of housework and outside I liked to cut the grass. My daughter had a baby and herself and boyfriend were constantly fighting about who gets to sleep in and more. It would have been one thing if she had made some kind of attempt given its an entire family trip and then he chose to ignore her and sleep, but he slept through her alarm, which I imagine he is used to doing and his body might have just ignored it out of habit. She is by no means the Ahole for her reaction or her expectations but probably could have initially handled the morning part better. Every thing after that is just him being a man child.

But putting up a fence that can be hopped over fairly easily is not the way to do it. A pool fence should be no lower than about six feet, and the higher the better.

@ zaqzilla1, ditto on the being mom 24/7 to 5 kids. Heck of a lot more than 80 hours a week, that’s 168 hours a week in fact. Subtract 80 hours, leaves 88 hours, subtract 56 hours for sleep (8 hours per night times 7 if lucky) that leaves 32 hours per week for everything else. So while dad relaxes, mom still has to keep working caring for 5 kids, cleaning, laundry, shopping, cooking, accounting, yard work, errands, help with homework/school, etc., & still find time to be there as a “wife”, on top of being there as mom, daughter, sister, AND try to find time for self care, personal hygiene, etc. While I agree about being able to snooze in a little on day off, why should only one parent be “allowed” that privilege? Incredibly unfair. If the breadwinner had the time to “make” 5 babies, they have the time to “parent” the kids & be there as a “husband”. Kinda like if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime. Comparing “jobs” is quite childish, try comparing a Doctor to a fireman, or an accountant to a university professor. Manual labor is draining, but that does not diminish any other job, or define its value anymore than any other job when discussing FAMILY RESPONSIBILITY.

It is funny, here you can't have a pool without a locked up fence, 4 ft or higher. A 4inch ball must not be able to pass (so no baby can slip through). This is because there is too many kids drowning every years.
Everyone install a 5.5ft tall one for privacy. So not easy to jump over.

  • @HappilyHomicidalHooligan
    @HappilyHomicidalHooligan Месяц назад +1

If you have a Pool, Security Cameras, a Tall Fence and No Trespassing Signs are the absolute MINIMUM you should add to the yard to protect you from Liability if nothing else...
Personally, If I had a Pool, it would be installed in a Greenhouse style structure (made of Hurricane Glass) which not only keeps people out but also bugs, leaves, pine needles and animal waste out of the water, severely decreasing the amount of maintenance needed on the pool...the enclosure will also decrease evaporative losses, make it easier to maintain the water temperature and protect the pool (and everyone in it) from Lightning Strikes and other bad weather so you can use the pool year round, not just in the summer on storm-free days...
And if you add an Electro-Chromic film (a film that changes colour when a current is applied to it) to the panels, you can gain privacy if you want to use the pool in the nude just by flipping a switch and making the panels frosted so light passes through but you can't see through it...

Story 2: there are laws to deal with found/unclaimed property. Most places, you deliver it to the local police department, who has far more resources for locating people. If it remains unclaimed, it can be auctioned by the municipality. Negotiable instruments, such as cash or bearer bonds can be released to the finder after a period of time. In California, misappropriation of found property is a form of theft under Pen as l Code 485.

The third story no the poster was not the jerk. However neither was the husband, once all the facts came out. The real jerk was the manipulative mother-in-law. She could use some therapy as could the father-in-law. It's now the twenty first century, and not the sixth century, Which there are some who want many things from that time period back.

The second story, I wouldn't have opened the package if it came through the U.S. Postal Service. The reason is that falls under tampering with the mail, and that's a serious offense. I'd have instead contacted the post office, and seen if the person had left a forwarding address or not. If it was delivered by another service, then that's a different game after the time has elapsed. Being as it was security cams in the end the poster and husband came out good though.

Pool story : The F is people so stupid!!! After you say to someone "Your not allowed on my property especially your not allowed to use my pool" next time you see them doing something like that call the police, press charges for trespassing especially if you have cameras and especially in America ...
Amazon story : Confirms people are stupid ...
Family story : Old story and yeah husband needed a reality check and it seems he got one so its all good now ...
Last story is just stupid and it's store problem like WTF you have 10 or less item line but no one enforce that rule so why the F you have in the first place ?
If it's not enforceable then F it everyone need to start using that line like a normal one ...if you ask "well how can they enforce it"well when there is more then 10 item just refuse to service and call the security to remove the offender...easy !!!

I would definitely advise the property managers to get that apartment cleansed or have somebody come in and get the place blessed so that there's better energy coming in for the place and might get rented out because of it.
Also it's fine to open a package if there's no way you can get it back I mean it could be food and it's spoiled and it'll stink up your house.

So ... the Amazon story? Doesn't everyone have at least one? One of my sons works at 1 of their warehouses; when I ordered a paring knife (just 1) there were actually 6 in the box. The price on the "invoice" was neither the price shown on the item page for a single knife nor the extended price for 6. Payment, of course, was made before shipment and was the correct price. I asked my sons - all 3 of them - what to do under the circumstances. Two said send them back, but the 1 who works at Amazon said keep them all.
