Enjoyed the tour, hope to go there someday. I saw the KYD Wanderlodge when they got to Santa Monica. I saw a Scamp fifth wheel yesterday it was camping in the Sequoia National Forest, reminded me that you had a Scamp.
I thought the Furrion showcase coach was going to be a "wow" and it was but in a negative way for me. Those antique Airstreams are indeed awesome and then you got to the other antique coaches and trailers! Wow, Pam said we have to go there! For the first time, I will not watch the whole video because we are DEFINATELY going to travel there and see it for ourselves and we want some surprises. Thanks for this one, we will put this place on our list.
Loved the entire tour except the short video in relation to how much is there :) . Definitely a must entry on the destination list. One item in displayed in at least two of the vehicles brought back a fond memory. In the early '80's I went on a solo trip in my 1974 VW Westfalia and zig-zagged my way to Glacier National Park and then into Canada where I treated myself to a wool Hudson Bay blanket in the iconic beige with the red, yellow, green and blue/black bands. My folks owned a 1960's Aljoa trailer (very similar to Shasta) but dad was enamored by the Clark Cortez motorhome over anything else members of the Santa Barbara Gem and Mineral Society owned and used on their rock-hounding club adventures. That 1929 Stewart Six with the big headlamps is painted in a color that Porsche used in the 70's, "Sepia Brown", which I like, but it is stunning on that antique motorhome. Those Blue Bird Wanderlodge's are magnificent when right in front of you and that dash - gracious it was the coolest layout and assortment of gauges, meters, and switches.. I'd arrange to drive at night most of the time. There was Wanderlodge camped at Panama City Florida's St Andrews State Park in 2018 (a couple months before the devastating hurricane) that was stunning and it towed a box trailer painted in same colors but also sported Harley Davidson Logo and verbiage as it was for transporting the owners' bikes. But the trailer & Wanderlodge combo was a "head turner & stop to stare at" by many as it just camped there minding its own business. Thank you for the video and the repeated nudges for us to come see for ourselves.
Oh man, there's SO much to see! Your trip sounds great, I stopped on my first trip out just before the Canadian border! That blanket sounds nice and warm! Those Clark Cortez motorhomes seemed really cool. Not too large, but they appear to be higher quality! And aren't those Wanderlodges really neat? It's a very different experience seeing them in person, I wish I'd been able to see that rig you saw in Panama City!!
Definitely visit, a video won't do it justice, you'll definitely love it! And that's neat! Might have to check that out and try to find all of the Elk as well!
That was krazy fun! You should give personal tours there! (Wouldn't THAT be a fab place to work kamp!) I kannot wait to go spend days in their library one day. Do they rotate kampers in and out of storage? Because I have seen several vids of the Avion truck kamper displayed over the years, and it didn't show up.
That would be so awesome to be a tour guide there, absolutely. If we were there for longer I could have read far more than I had. I only got a few magazines in before they were closing on our final visit! I think they are either gifted them or they're on temp consignment. I believe they only have this one building for this function. They also don't have anyone to restore these beauties if they age too much inside. :( Your Ks drive me Krazy lol
I love those 1970s GMCs .. follow Jim Bounds and learned a lot about them and how maintain and fix them, but never pulled the trigger to buy one though. I think if the would bring it back and modernize it these would just sell and sell imo. but then i am not the marketing / research guy for GMC.
I love channels like that, where they get deep into the care and love for a specific product like that! And agreed, I think they'd make a killing today. The quality of those units was fantastic back then, unlike the competition. What a shame that they only lived a short product-life. I shutter to think how terrible the product might be today should it still exist.

Very cool! I love those Scamp fifth wheels. I think we would have spent much more time with our tiny trailer if we had one of those.

I'm glad!! I was wondering if anyone would not watch the video at all, or finish it, if only because they wanted to be surprised themselves!!

Very cool! Hope to visit in person some day. I'm from a city named Elk Grove (CA) and we have Elks like that around town too 😆

I wish GMC still made a modern version on their 70's RV.
Love the design.
Isn't it a great design?!

Hey a real Ford, that's tough, not just in the label.
Agreed!!
Twin beds are pre-birthcontroll. 😉
That makes a lot of sense!
