Never knew there was a museum in Elkhart. Very cool! Went to the Indiana Dunes once. Lake Michigan is a wonderful RV camping. As you go up the state, the terrain becomes higher. Flat beach at Grand Haven.and a stop at Temptations ice cream to the very high Beautiful Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Robert excellent video of the RV hall of fame in Elkhart Indiana you're awesome I can watch your videos over and over once again keep up the good work you're doing a great job blessings to you
Been here myself! Passing through on the way to Iowa, to take Dad to “The Field of dreams” filming location, he’s obsessed with that movie? 🤷♂️ Great tour of it though! Many of the same RV’s exhibited 2 years ago as when you were there.
I stayed at Indiana Dunes State Park campground this past June. It's crowded and you'll need advance reservations for the summer, but it's worth it. Very pretty campground with an awesome walk through the woods to the beach (where you filmed). Funny story, though. It's where my transmission went out and we had to get a very large tow truck and a police escort to help me out of the park (very tight turns on the campground roads, but the tow truck driver did a fantastic job getting my 35 foot Fleetwood Bounder out of the park and to the repair shop). I do recommend this campground next time you visit the area. And do the 3-Dune challenge if you go, it's a real challenge but the views are well worth it and you get a patch and t-shirt if you finish it (for a discount price, of course). I think you'll also enjoy the Michigan side of Lake Michigan better with it's quaint towns and awesome beaches. I stayed at a couple Michigan state park campgrounds on my trip. I'm in LOVE with Holland, MI (great ice cream!). I hope to get to Chicago someday to start the great Route 66 trip I've been planning for years (just gotta find time to do it).
Another Great video! You drove right past my house! The beach you were at is a great place to watch the sunset with the Chicago skyline in the background. The campground is very nice as well. Thanks for posting!
Hi Robert, Its amazing how far RV's have come but how close they are to the original RV's all those years ago. I think that this is one museum I will be adding to the bucket list. thanks for sharing.
Sorry, me again, one or two of the longer Rv's reminded me of the movie with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez, called The Long, Long Trailer - great movie, maybe your wife will have heard of this movie ! Thank you so much for you vlog today, I really enjoyed it - I could have watched for another hour or so !!! Happy Trails, Alison x
BY THE WAY VERY VERY GREAT VIDEO.IT HAD GOOD EDITING AND NARRATION AND I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO A LONG TIME SAFE TRAVELS AND GREETINGS FROM TEXAS.......
Funny thing? My grandparents started with a Winnebago, went to a Pace Arrow in the late-'70's. My uncle ordered & p/u a Travco 320 in '76 from Lynnwood Dodge in Washington and took it to Alaska. It was brought back down in the early-2000's and re-vamped. Now I own it
Nice to know that we have driven same roads in both continents. I also thought Chicago Skyway was expensive. Later I was told that most people used I-94 because it is cheaper and not very much slower.
I would love to go there some day in my 1973 Dodge Titan motorhome. It would be a trip from Oregon to Indiana. I'd probably spend more in gas than the vehicle is even worth, but it'd be a lot of fun and make for a great adventure!
I grew up camping in a Shasta very similar to the 1950s one you saw --3 kids and two parents. Tight and no bathroom. That's what the campground bathhouse was for. 😊 And we had a small porta potty for nighttime emergencies.
Wonderful job as always..You always have such nice music on you videos. How much of the music are different tracks you lay down on a synthesizer. I'm guessing part of the RV song has a few moments 're live vocalists (as opposed to dead ones I guess). Thanks for taking us along on your trip. You sure pack a lot into each day. You are heading in too my :home state. And even though Chicagoans think they comprise the only important part of Illinois (hence no,welcome to Illinois sign), there is a great big wonderful state outside Cook County.
+JillB PrayerFul I found it very odd about the lack of Illinois sign. 90 percent of the music is synth. I do record a live guitar, the only other instrument I play, when it is appropriate and for the New Orleans music I hired my good friend Chuchi for trumpets🎺 and trombones... And yeah the vocals are live too 😃
Remember in 1930's a lot of homes didn't have inside bathrooms, a chamber pot was considered normal so an RV back then wouldn't have been any different? I like the house car.
Robert, did you guys get a chance to watch the short video in the auditorium before venturing into the various corridors? Great place and a must see for any RV'er.
That was a very insightful tour of the RV Museum! Enjoyed the video. Tolls can be pretty discouraging for potential travelers and $20 is wayyyyy too much imho.
I don't suppose the knew how to put a toilet in a moving vehicle - how would have dealt with the waste, also waste was probably something nice rv'ing people didn't talk about openly, maybe ?
Seeing those vintage RV's was very enjoyable. I'm not rushing to catch up to you - more time to appreciate your presentations.
Super documentary on RV Museum! And great view of Michigan lake. And good music.
Thank you very much Robert ! 👍

An RV Museum! Who knew? Very kewl. Years ago we inherited a 1973 Minnie Winnie.. had a dodge truck chassis. Good Times.
Thank you for such a great video. And especially for not making us dizzy with the camera work. Yay!

+Lynelle Phillips I'll definitely go back. We did pass by the campground but cut that part out of the video.
great vid robert, you and eric showed a lot of cool rv's ...same idea these rv's to the new ones just without all the electronic gizmos !!!
+Billyt Thank you. I love some of those old motorhomes.
Another Great video! You drove right past my house! The beach you were at is a great place to watch the sunset with the Chicago skyline in the background. The campground is very nice as well. Thanks for posting!
+Mike C I did? Next time I'll stop and say hello :-) Thanks!
+TravelingRobert please feel free to stop by anytime, dinner is on me if you make the Cuban Coffee😀
Fantastic, nice footage of Indiana Dunes, looks like I found a future vacation stop up north at Indiana, the RV museum sealed the deal for me.
+Crurned Yeah, I wish I could have stayed longer at the Indiana Dunes and go for a dip in the lake.

+THE BAT SYMBOL PRODUCTIONS Thank you. Greetings from Florida.
A bathtub! :) Love the old canned ham trailers. Never been to the Dunes. Quite pretty view! Your music is great! :)
I didn't realise the early campers were modelled after the tinned ham !!!!
Very cool thanks for the video those old rv must have weighed a lot
Great job Robert!!!
+Allan Francis Thanks!

+Ray Sater Thanks my Australian friend.

in my 3 years of research, it was considered by many veteran RVers to check out and reallllllly like the floor plan, one of the top considerations.
+SKPjoe Coursegold I think so too... particularly important in a small motorhome.
The family car used to be able to haul some of these. Those cars were made of solid steel !!!
+Barb Cieri Oh yeah. The infamous yank tanks. They still run on the streets in Cuba.
A Michigan trip to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes and Mac's Dune Rides is a must.
+aguyandhiscomputer Maybe later this year....

Indiana is the trashiest boreingst place on earth trust me you don't won't to be there.
You have been warned
THIS IS SO COOL I WISH I HAD ONE OF THEM
Very interesting video 👍
+Barbara Freutel Thank you!
Went there this weekend! Loved everything about that place!
Yea right
I grew up camping in a Shasta very similar to the 1950s one you saw --3 kids and two parents. Tight and no bathroom. That's what the campground bathhouse was for. 😊 And we had a small porta potty for nighttime emergencies.
+The Eternal Explorer Wow, that must have been crowded. Good times I'm sure.

+hermitld I guess that makes sense.
Im very upset that I didn't know you guys were in Michigan I would've came to see you guys!:(
+Tech & Stuff We just walked up to the border 😃 Next time. Michigan is definitely on the list.
Robert, did you guys get a chance to watch the short video in the auditorium before venturing into the various corridors? Great place and a must see for any RV'er.
+Tim Rover No didn't get to watch the video.
Bummer, the history of museum is awesome. That's OK, I am just elated you all had a chance to visit the new complex.
First camper i ever camped in (1960 fleetwood) had no toilet (it had a hassock toilet) and no shower. LOL
How far we've come
Good job
+Mohammad Ghanbari Thanks!
FYI. Nomadic Fanatic uploaded the RV Hall of Fame the same day as you.
hey Robert did you see nomantic fanatic he was just their also...
Saw it this morning :-) How funny we're crossing paths.
i thought the same thing!

+Mrwan almeawi Thank you!
Look at the sky on that whole trip. Hella chemtrail spraying operation going on there.
Gostei continue assim.
+Jeanete Botomé Duarte Obrigado

Roughly how much time would one need to casually walk threw and view could it be done in like four hour
Probably less. I'd say two, unless you really want to geek out and spend time inside each of the units.
When in Elkhart make sure you eat a Volcano`s pizza.
I don't suppose the knew how to put a toilet in a moving vehicle - how would have dealt with the waste, also waste was probably something nice rv'ing people didn't talk about openly, maybe ?
2.67 for gas is NOTHING, where I live in some places it's 2.87.
Pure? Ha.Ask Flint residents about that.
2016 video have KIA SORENTO is bad car .old RV süperrrrrrrrrrrr
