I only watched half of this video before I had to leave a comment. I know this is a comical video creation for you but as soon as I saw the images of this post many emotions came back to me from my earlier life. I was born in 1956 and when I needed to get a ride for work at the age of 16, I was not making a lot of money. My mom worked donating her time at her church. She told the story of me and not having money but needing a car desperately. Another volunteer told the story of her son who is always fixing up old cars. I don't remember his last name but his first name was Ron. I do remember that he won many awards for every one of his cars that he fixed up for competition in National Auto shows. The mother demanded that her son sell to me one of his cars that he had not yet fixed up. Like me, we both lived at home and you listened to your mom. When I went over to their house and saw the beast up to its floor boards in mud in the backyard I didn't fall immediately in love with my first car but soon later I did after I pulled it out and started to fix it up. I guess you never forget your first love. You gentlemen have a four holer. I had a three holer. I had a 1956 Buick Special. It had 36,000 original miles and was an Arizona car if I remember correctly and it had every option available. The trunk was the size of a small car and in it was the original white wall tire. After getting the car home I found the engine to be in great shape. The body on this thing needed some work because the fenders although intact weren't attached to the mechanical connections to the frame. This would make the front fenders flap as I went down the highway. The motor was very powerful though and I found out later that there were guys that actually fixed these up for racing even though the cars were very heavy. During that time of my life I was in a drum and bugle Corps and we had to go to practices each week hauling friends and fellow members to a location along with our musical equipment. It was perfect for this application. The car was really a fun clown mobile for all of the people that I hauled around at the time. One of my friends gave it a name. The name was Ali-ut-ut. It had a mole hair ceiling, the floor had a number of push button switches that I thought were really cool. One was for the bright headlights. One was to operate the windshield wipers for just a single wipe. One of them was for the starter after you turned key to the on position much like some of the expensive luxury cars of today. My favorite foot pedal switch was to change the radio station to the next most powerful radio station that the a.m. radio could scan and tune to. Once you got familiar with their location you could operate any of these switches without ever looking for them on the floor. There was an incredible amount of room in the car and I believe that the most people I carried from one place to another was 14 people. Well my dad didn't like the car. He arranged to get a another $100 car for me. Really that's all I paid for my 1956 Buick Special was $100. Without telling me one day he got a hold of the title and had signed it off and had Ut-Ut (her short name) towed from our property when I was at school. I was in the process of starting to secure the fenders and sand down and primer the paint job which was an original Green flavor. I had removed the rear insignia for the trunk lid. To this day I still have it hanging in my garage. I guess I hoped someday I would become wealthy enough and had the time and energy to go searching all of the Auto graveyards and find it and breathe new life into that beautiful old girl that I still love to this day. That's why this video is so important to me. If I'm not mistaken the first car Jay Leno fell in love with was a 56 Buick also. But I think his is a four holer too. Anyway thank you for the great videos. You guys are doing a wonderful job bringing back memories for all of us to love again. keep up the great work. Paul
That is actually the initial premise from the prototype that Harley Earl made...it had lights flicker in timing to the ignition.....one for each venti port to indicate the exhaust "flames"

Loyal Roadkill viewer, but after 53 episodes, I finally have to say, "This episode sucked and is one that should have never seen the light of day". Hopefully this is just a hiccup and we return to our normal ways
I agree to an extent, but not everything works despite good intentions going in. I do video production but perception vs. reality often rears its ugly head. That's part of the appeal of RK for me, much more winners, often BIG WINNERS than not, like Stubby Bob's Comeback, brilliant stuff, toe-til-eeh memorable. Give the boys a break a with your personal "forgiveness factor" and let's get on with it.
it was still a good episode I mean a lot of people probably don't like it but coming off from the stubby bob wheelstand episode its going to be hard to create something as crazy and stupidly entertaining as that one.
See it as a "It was this or wait 2 months for an episode bc David is WAY too busy in general". I see it as part 1 of 3 and I actually kinda liked it. The sketchy sales guy seemed to have gone back on a promise to sell them C1 parts so they had to change plans and David had to leave for a day. Can't wait for the next episode on this Buickvette.
I know what happened next: They hooked up the engine and gas pedal, got the breaks working just a little bit, threw in chairs and drove a few hundred miles only occasionally stopping because the car is overheating, broken, smoking, on fire, seized, or all of that.
I've been to Junk yards in Missouri that are concentric circles of Time. (Like a target) The center is the beginning 1910-1920 then circling it is 1920-1930-- then 1930-1940 then 1950-1960 Etc.... Trees growing through cars..............

+AreThereNoMoreNames that is exactly what he doing. i saw a half a million worth of cars easily. The ones under the car were all together St least 100k.
+WarmSoftKitty it's featured in motor trend, it's a well known junkyard to those who KNOW cars. The Black Chevy truck is at least 10k on its own, yellow 68 Camaro is another 10, the mint corvette is probably 30k thats 3 cars right there. it's okay to be uniformed but don't treat others like they are.
If they haven't made a somewhat easy episode of mounting it to the chassis and getting it running, in 4-5 months, then they likely are never going too. Its probably sitting right back at the same yard it came from.
No one was ever going to do anything with that rusted out Vette chassis and the rest of the parts were saved. The 'Vette guys should be cool with this.
Mike Edge Low compression under powered smog motors, nightmare engine bay to deal with, soft and floaty suspension, super small and cramped interior made with cheap materials that didn't hold up well, etc, etc... I don't hate on them, but they are a long way from Corvette's finest hour and represent pretty much everything bad about the 1970s in American cars.
Pretty sad that guy would rather let those cars rust to the ground rather than selling them and let some on restore them. Part of automotive history rusting away
When I used to go hunting for cars years before the internet, you would come across these types of people often. They would lock away beautiful cars and have 100 Dobermans and carry a shotgun. The only way on the property was to mention a person they knew well. Yeah I know that they own em' and can do whatever they want, but they have no interest in helping younger people into a project car. I guess it makes them feel superior in some way as just about all were fat & smelly. Sometimes they would have an equally smelly wife nagging at them.
they aren’t rusting, with out people like him then they would rust either way, he doesn’t restore them but he makes them run again. plus, I wouldn’t sell something like that, it maybe a bit to dangerous either way.
I love when people hate on Sammy's and say they are letting cars be destroyed without realizing 90% of the cars these guys own would have been scrapped and completely lost rather than rusted and beat up
Guys like Sammy are just as bad as the scrap yard as the cars will never see the open road again and will never run again, this Buick is a prime example as Mike and David both admitted that they gave up on this project because the car was too far gone with the rust It's a different story if guys who buy a lot of old cars turn around and sell them to people who are looking for projects but not if they're keeping them to let them rust away and then want to high ball people because they "knows what I gots"
Oh , MY , GOooooD ! How could you pass on that 61 Cadillac ? WHAT a "Monster LEAD SLED Truck" White wall tractor tires , Twice pipes out the hood ! 6to 60 air ride ! Atomic BOMB , dude !
Don't get me wrong, love roadkill an d always happy to see a new episode. But they didn't really get the car running, they like half assed it's the end. I know it's not an easy hop but at least finish the car or get it to where it can take a motor
+sage sokol yep roadkill fan since day one! But the voice sync is way off with this video, they tried fixing it by chopping milliseconds throughout the video but nah, they really could have done better. Restarted the app 5 times thinking the problem was with me. The content was mostly fillers no real roadkill going on. Hey motor trend, if you are reading this, please fix these issues with the video and the content. And the part where Freiburger 'left for the meeting with dodge' didnt sell me. This episode was hopeless, cramming fillers into a 10 minutes worth of content video is just not good enough. But hey, lets just let this one slip through :DD
It's kind of the point of Roadkill to fail sometimes. I think given time, Finnegan can actually make that skin stay on and hold together, anyway, then maybe they'll see if they can do something crazy with it.
There was plenty of content, they just could not finish it. I see this as a clear "section 1 of 3" or "1 of 2" episode. That sketchy dude they bought stuff from wasn't exactly helping, going back on his words and David having to deal with money-people meetings didn't help either. I love the car and hope it will come back for a more runable project. The real problem is that David works too much with everything else.
MikuMikuGaming01 which is absolutely heartbreaking because I love those Buicks. But at least it got one more breath of... somewhat life before it disappeared.
Called "VentiPorts" ... On earlier models, the engineers claimed (& advertised) that they helped with ventilation of the engine compartment, but in later models they were plugged & just there for styling. They were a "shout out" to the plane engines GM supplied & companies they owned that built other planes & engines for the war effort. Buick started using the VentiPorts to denote engine size ~ the more ports, the bigger the engine ~ until the V-style engines came about. then it worked it's way around to denote body size & then just what looked good on that particular model. The original designers of the VentiPorts intended for there to be lights behind the ports that were synced with separate spark plugs, so that it looked like the exhaust from the warplanes. But once put into production, the lights never made it.

It doesn’t matter how many times I watch this episode, I always bust out laughing when Dave says “new levels of wacking off.”

If your subscribed to Finnegan's garage this episode is even more cool.
The moment they get into his driveway you feel like you where there all along.
Here I am watching again after five years. Man time flies.
"Because we are way ahead of schedule, it started to rain" God watches Roadkill confirmed.
That stingray looked fully restorable from the outside
this best security system I've ever seen you have to cut your way into the car
I still like this one the best,so much work for a show and both of you never wanted to ever see it again!
could it be. not a teaser
Well yes since it dosent say TEASER in all caps in the title like all the teaser videos do
+weirdstuffanimation7 picking up on sarcasm is not your strong point
ryan you are just as bad at it.
weirdstuffanimation7 solid comeback did you have to leave your parents basement to come up with that?
This is the junkyard of sadness for me. So many good cars that have just gone to waste.
So did I miss something or is there another episode where they make it run?
They where unable to finish it, because they ran out of time. They plan to come back to the project in a future episode. (Which has yet to be filmed)
If they haven't made a somewhat easy episode of mounting it to the chassis and getting it running, in 4-5 months, then they likely are never going too. Its probably sitting right back at the same yard it came from.
Flat4Buggy 2 They have never stated any future plans for the car at all.
weirdstuffanimation7 They have on the Roadkill Facebook page after the episode was filmed.
Flat4Buggy 2 They said. They will come back to it one day. That is not a plan.
Seeing that Corvette getting hacked apart brought me great joy.
That Buick might be hooped, but it looks really good laid out. And congrats on aggravating corvette fans again I'm sure
No one was ever going to do anything with that rusted out Vette chassis and the rest of the parts were saved. The 'Vette guys should be cool with this.
Even Corvette guys hate the '73
I like the 73
+MrBreeze what's wrong with the 73 model corvette?
Mike Edge
Low compression under powered smog motors, nightmare engine bay to deal with, soft and floaty suspension, super small and cramped interior made with cheap materials that didn't hold up well, etc, etc...
I don't hate on them, but they are a long way from Corvette's finest hour and represent pretty much everything bad about the 1970s in American cars.
The shenanigans going on with MTOD are exactly why Roadkill said they would never sign with a television network... What happened???
I think I'd rather see Roadkill on cable at this point regardless of the restrictions that entail
They are currently on netflix but not up to date.
tct72 Roadkill is on Netflix!?
tct72 I checked and it is!!!
MTOD is worth the money...
IM SO EXCITED FOR THE NEXT EPISODE😁😁😁😁😁
+Just say CSX. Official ayyyy fellow railfan
+Brandon Whitesell ayyy i do the same x3
+Just say CSX. Official Not me bitch OHHHHHH Na just kiddin my man.

wolfox712 22
5 years later I came back to re watch..And man Gary is a pretty cool dude.
I think it's time for another *Cheap Truck Challenge!*
Cheap muscle car challenge would be even cooler
Yes this
Go to dirt everyday, that made 6 billion of cheap truck challenge
Watch Dirt Everyday. They do a bunch of those.
cheap drift car challenge
finally video that is not a teaser :)
Pretty sad that guy would rather let those cars rust to the ground rather than selling them and let some on restore them. Part of automotive history rusting away
kevin brass I agree
Yeah but it's cool. To see something abandoned like one I went to look at an abandoned ski lodge with 2 ski lifts
@@timsmith854 haha half of us are fat and smelly
they aren’t rusting, with out people like him then they would rust either way, he doesn’t restore them but he makes them run again. plus, I wouldn’t sell something like that, it maybe a bit to dangerous either way.
My first roadkill episode I ever watched. Saw this when it was first posted
"How many angry people are out there right now? I wanna know."
Apparently 4400 angry people
That's grown to 8k in the last year haha
even more now... because they dont finish it... wtf?
8.5k 2/26/20
that guys laugh is awesome lol
Road kill brought to you by OSHA safety standards.
I love when people hate on Sammy's and say they are letting cars be destroyed without realizing 90% of the cars these guys own would have been scrapped and completely lost rather than rusted and beat up
Guys like Sammy are just as bad as the scrap yard as the cars will never see the open road again and will never run again, this Buick is a prime example as Mike and David both admitted that they gave up on this project because the car was too far gone with the rust
It's a different story if guys who buy a lot of old cars turn around and sell them to people who are looking for projects but not if they're keeping them to let them rust away and then want to high ball people because they "knows what I gots"
What I was thinking about that whole time was, “was that superbird real?”
Same
In 2:52 there is a green 60’s International Scout.
Just felt like pointing that out
that would make a hell of a dirt car though
Or an AFX drag car. Wouldn't trust it down a track with more than 50hp,though.
Oh , MY , GOooooD ! How could you pass on that 61 Cadillac ? WHAT a "Monster LEAD SLED Truck" White wall tractor tires , Twice pipes out the hood ! 6to 60 air ride ! Atomic BOMB , dude !
digging it so far. looking great, hope it doesn't sit around too long before it gets done.
I can't see Mrs Finnegan letting them keep it there for very long. It might have been hauled to Dulcich's place as soon as the camera crew left. lol
+bottomlands not atleast for 2 months
That looks so good sacked. Please leave it that low
I think they just jumped the shark ..
Thank you
“flange it and Zeus it right back in there “
and still these words are haunting Frieberger . . .
Don't get me wrong, love roadkill an d always happy to see a new episode. But they didn't really get the car running, they like half assed it's the end. I know it's not an easy hop but at least finish the car or get it to where it can take a motor
i dont this they got as far as quarter assed it
+krusher74 Haha, you're right my man
They ran out of shoot days/budget
They did the same thing with the blasphemi when it made its first apperance
first stubby bob sucked too
loved it lads keep it up
Much appreciated, Liam!
+Motor Trend Channel the sound of the 55 is awesome. Please reply😜
+Motor Trend Channel why don't you get a school bus and do something that will end any and all doubt that you are the best and coolest people around.
Sammy sounds a little tuff but his place his rules met guys like em but u still got to respect that
Getting home after 50 miles and seeing what you brought home is like waking up after a long night of drinking and regretting everything.
When is the second part of this up? I want to see the "finished" version.
They plan to revisit the project, but they have yet to film it.
Probably in the end of 2017.
I think this episode was more for the last on demand advertisment part. No content
Lol still better than nothing doe
+Bayezit Salgur it's the new RUclips app I have had this problem with all other videos.
You drop the body and then end the episode? Since when do you guys do that, Do I have to pay to see the rest? lol
My favorite episode...... I do wish they redo this the right way
I love how you saved that poor car
Until it broke itself in half and there is zero chance to fix the Buick. Its gone forever.
MikuMikuGaming01 which is absolutely heartbreaking because I love those Buicks. But at least it got one more breath of... somewhat life before it disappeared.
Super Bird chained to a post at 2:43!
When is the next episode coming out!!!!
Episode 54 will be released on RUclips September 9th.
3:30 am, gotta stay uo and watch it😫
pacific standard time?
+osbaldo theVtenman yeah
12.40 am in germany :D
Nice 😎, same here in western united states
+Pascal Klose Jaaa, hier auch xD
Those ants in the trunk had taken a trip equivalent of humans travelling to Alpha Centuri and they don't even know it. 😂
This is yet another good example, of how *not* to run a junk yard. Absolute neglect of almost everything.
a asus Z!XSQzzza@zazdzzxzzzd dzsZT TR Tre TR zzd sđd sz
CHOPPERGIRL's AIRWAR Let's be honest, that Sammy guy is literally not in much shape to run much of anything.
Rotted corvette chassis + 25 years of rust Buick body = HEY GUYS I’V GOT AN IDEA!!!
What are those 4 holes thingies on each front fender. I think each should be for an exhaust pipe port. I double dog dare you!
I believe it's just trim, but people do that especially in the rat rod area which is basically what this is
Called "VentiPorts" ...
Thanks Red Dawg. I love those older cars. They are was tooo cool. I still dare them to put the headers out of those venti- ports. Thanks!
Thanks Sean Aint it cool tho
Ody Slim
No problem! & if you couldn't tell... I kinda like the older cars too. LoL (& I work in the automotive industry) :P
I know of one of these 56 Buicks that runs and drives, very little rust, pretty much stock. Super cool car. 56 Buick Special.
Best episode ever! Part 2 is when?
I believe it broke in half in transport so they got rid of it
.
Pitiful. With enough steel and a welder, they don't have an excuse.
Fun fact: I plan to spend the rest of my life recreating this episode. Wish me luck
Good luck not kidding
Siddharth Krishnan same XD
some times you have to know when to say... this is shit... and stop..
good show guys.
Yep ... PUNT ... You have a Eng/Trans and a Vette rear end.. if an antique shop wants a cheap sign/Buick.. Sold.
right when the dude changed his mind about the parts they wanted... walk and burn the bushes on the way out
Ah finally, a video i always watch finally came back in my recommendation
Where can I buy my Roadkill machete and chainsaw?
Where can I buy my roadkill death wheel on weed wacker
I have one more deadly then that. 18 inch saw blade on a 7HP engine.. nothing survives
just buy any machete or chainsaw an put a roadkill bumper sticker on the flat side of the blade
I think they just put stickers on them
+Carl Johnson guys, this was obviously a joke.
With the red tires it could have been the Hudson hornet
9:51 They could be punny and call it carchaeology lol
Keep Roadkill on RUclips!
