    Totally agree. the gymboss interval timer was one of the very first apps I ever downloaded on my first smartphone and I still use it to this day.
    I would also include the simple camera app on the phone as well. I use it a lot to record my form and the form of clients so we can play it back and look for ways to improve technique.

    Thanks to Stretching your Boundaries, I learned to use counting breaths instead of relying on a timer. It really helped me focus on form!

    A timer is a great idea. I use one with a love/hate relationship. They keep you honest and help in accuracy.

    I totally agree with all you're saying. Steps are redundant in my work, I'm in construction. The heart rate monitor in some newer watches enables me to monitor "intensity", which is where it's at, in my opinion. 30mins of 70% max heartrate is going to do a whole lot more good than 10000 steps at a leisurely pace. Appreciate your vids sir. Keep em coming. Tell your brother to step up his game ;)

    HEY HEY HEY Mr.Kavadlo.
    I have recently finished reading (and following the instructions in) GET STRONG. I have to say it's an amazing tutorial and even though It hasn't been a month I've seen more improvement in my strength than I expected. But I have a question that's been really annoying me. Based on your experience, while doing push ups, how does the muscle engagement pattern change when I 1-move my arms further from each other or closer to each other? 2-move them up or down compared to shoulder line? 3-flare my arms out or in??
    Ps I know you asked for short questions but I couldn't make it any shorter. Thank you for your time. I'll keep working out 😁

    Hey Hey Hey Al !! Whats your opinion about using protein powder as an easy protein source instead of eating ?

  • @daveparker2090
    @daveparker2090 2 года назад +2

    Over the years I've had a bunch of "Fitness Watches" measuring heart rates, steps, inclination etc. I've monitored my sleep, steps. AVG resting heart rate, running distances, even the number of skips and kicks and punches in a workout. They used to be useful but if you want accuracy to really analyze what's happening, then you need a chest strap, shoe pods for running. Individual monitors under boxing wraps for boxing, bike accessories for cycling. Honestly the list goes on and on until you realize "What does all this data mean?" Then you need someone to help program your yearly periodization of workouts based off the data. Or just say "F@#$ That" and workout until you've achieved what you wanted on this day. I still wear a monitoring watch because it has an app with a calendar. I keep track of how many different workouts I do over the months. Occasionally I'll look at how my sleep an hr is, but at the end of the day, can you do more of X than you did a month ago?

    I love my Fitbit for Sleep tracking. Nothing else is as good. Strength, Recovery & Weight Loss are dramatically impacted by enough quality sleep... and it's super easy to think you are getting enough sleep when you're not.

      Fitness Trackers can be cool but it can hide the perception of a workout, coffee increases your heart rate, a sleepless night increases your heart rate and indeed it can hide your true potential so keeping time with a simple watch can be more efficient in a race, target PACE can show your True Potential...Let's Run

      I agree. Besides, it seems that when I'm counting, I lose part of the focus I should be putting on the exercise itself, including breathing. When I started to use timer, I noticed that the form and duration of my static holds have improved faster.
