Totally agree. the gymboss interval timer was one of the very first apps I ever downloaded on my first smartphone and I still use it to this day.
I would also include the simple camera app on the phone as well. I use it a lot to record my form and the form of clients so we can play it back and look for ways to improve technique.
I am very happy that you are doing videos again!
You rock al!! I'm so glad you're doing these videos again!!! Thanks for always being you👍
Love these videos. You’ve been a huge help in my losing over 30lbs. and getting stronger. Thanks, brother.👍
Thanks for bringing back ask Al!
These are such a great source of information
Only Al would talk about being in an L sit for “only 27 seconds”.
Thanks to Stretching your Boundaries, I learned to use counting breaths instead of relying on a timer. It really helped me focus on form!
A timer is a great idea. I use one with a love/hate relationship. They keep you honest and help in accuracy.
very well said, ty Al
Great video! I completely agree - I always time my holds. And I tend to agree about the fitbit stuff.
Hello, just discovered your channel and really like it!
Thanks for video👍
I totally agree with all you're saying. Steps are redundant in my work, I'm in construction. The heart rate monitor in some newer watches enables me to monitor "intensity", which is where it's at, in my opinion. 30mins of 70% max heartrate is going to do a whole lot more good than 10000 steps at a leisurely pace. Appreciate your vids sir. Keep em coming. Tell your brother to step up his game ;)
Best video ever with the unruly Audience 😂 you had me on the floor (timing the way down)
HEY HEY HEY Mr.Kavadlo.
I have recently finished reading (and following the instructions in) GET STRONG. I have to say it's an amazing tutorial and even though It hasn't been a month I've seen more improvement in my strength than I expected. But I have a question that's been really annoying me. Based on your experience, while doing push ups, how does the muscle engagement pattern change when I 1-move my arms further from each other or closer to each other? 2-move them up or down compared to shoulder line? 3-flare my arms out or in??
Ps I know you asked for short questions but I couldn't make it any shorter. Thank you for your time. I'll keep working out 😁
Hey hey hey Al! How do you feel about mixing weight lifting or kettlebells with calisthenics and would you do both in the same day?
Hey Hey Hey ,Always spot on🤙🏾
Scary thumbnail where Al is not smiling!?
I've been using a good old Timex Ironman watch for years because of the timer. Best part is it straps on my wrist and I don't have to hold it
I use HR monitors for endurance training. :) Also powermeter is nice, but I only got it in Direto XR-T, not in my bike. :/
Is Danny doing the sound effects? Thanks for telling it like it is, Al!
Hey Hey Hey Al !! Whats your opinion about using protein powder as an easy protein source instead of eating ?
Over the years I've had a bunch of "Fitness Watches" measuring heart rates, steps, inclination etc. I've monitored my sleep, steps. AVG resting heart rate, running distances, even the number of skips and kicks and punches in a workout. They used to be useful but if you want accuracy to really analyze what's happening, then you need a chest strap, shoe pods for running. Individual monitors under boxing wraps for boxing, bike accessories for cycling. Honestly the list goes on and on until you realize "What does all this data mean?" Then you need someone to help program your yearly periodization of workouts based off the data. Or just say "F@#$ That" and workout until you've achieved what you wanted on this day. I still wear a monitoring watch because it has an app with a calendar. I keep track of how many different workouts I do over the months. Occasionally I'll look at how my sleep an hr is, but at the end of the day, can you do more of X than you did a month ago?
Hey hey hey al, whats your opinion on specialisation vs diversification from a longevity pov
Hey hey hey, brother. In one of your books you mentioned the Pistol Press, or Pistol squats plus one arm pushup. How do I go about doing them? Unfortunately I can't tell how to do it from photos
Look through his channel; he has at least one video on Pistols specifically
Al. You are brilliant! This is so true. The amount of women that say oh I did 10,000 steps today. It's a garbage gimmick! Well done Al. Love it.
I have a gymboss interval timer .
I love my Fitbit for Sleep tracking. Nothing else is as good. Strength, Recovery & Weight Loss are dramatically impacted by enough quality sleep... and it's super easy to think you are getting enough sleep when you're not.
Fitness Trackers can be cool but it can hide the perception of a workout, coffee increases your heart rate, a sleepless night increases your heart rate and indeed it can hide your true potential so keeping time with a simple watch can be more efficient in a race, target PACE can show your True Potential...Let's Run
when i count to myself...the count is always fast...same here
I agree. Besides, it seems that when I'm counting, I lose part of the focus I should be putting on the exercise itself, including breathing. When I started to use timer, I noticed that the form and duration of my static holds have improved faster.
Funnily enough that's the only tech I use too! 👍💪
I love my GymBoss timer.
I like the comment he shows on screen where the person says they "appear" more fit than Al. I mean it's possible - I don't think it's likely.
Surely exercise should be as simple as possible for the vast majority of folks? I have a gymboss timer, had one for 9 years, and for circuits there are invaluable
Hay hay hay All ,let's workout together some time soon!
Hey hey hey
Hey Hey Hey nice1❤️
plus those gadgets do emit EMF radiation too
Weirdly enough, I count slower in my head.
Gimmicks are gimmicks!!!
Hahahah 😂❤️❤️
I clicked because of One Piece.
Waste of time, money, and totally silly. People wearing them have no clue and will never get fit.
