MENTION OF A SMALL FINAL EPISODE SPOILER I do like the anime implication that the characters were all reincarnated into the School Castes story. I bet that when Armin told Eren they'd be reunited in hell, he never thought that it would be the metaphorical hell that is high school! More seriously though I do like the subtle suggestion that Eren is subconsciously missing the power his past self had while also still punishing himself for his past self's actions (having no zeal for life, trying to avoid making friends, etc.). Meanwhile Armin and Mikasa are just fully embracing all the teenager cringe they never got to experience in their past lives and instinctively attach to Eren like barnacles as soon as they find him.
The Paths is a place where death does not exist, it is effectively the AOT universe version of the after life and since Eren is the last one with full access to it, it would not be far fetched if he decides to wait for all of his friends in the Paths just so he could craft an entire Afterlife for all of them, plus since some of the Fake Chapters are kind of set in a modern setting, meaning Eren and gang have been in the paths fucking around long enough that they caught up with the latest trends in the outside world. Plus since its kind of depressing, he probably erased all of their memories so they don't get to live with the burden of their past lives. Kind of hard to enjoy the Afterlife when you know your personally responsible for the death of 80% of the human population. And when they have enough of their fun they starts to fade away and move on with the exception of Eren. why do people even think that Eren had to reincarnate into this universe. I believe that this spin-off is not directly related to the main universe in any way. it's just made to reveal the characters better by showing them in a different setting. so, for example, we were shown that without Eren's dream to achieve something (without obvious enemies - titans /the world and without obvious restraint of freedom), he does not know what he wants from life. as if hinting that in fact eren is really looking for adventures on his ass, even if he has freedom, he does not need it, unlike achieving this freedom - fighting. even if it doesn't make sense (well, after Eren's words in the finale, "I don't know why, I just wanted it") this spin-off seems to clarify the seemingly incomprehensible situation in the final in Eren's motivation, in which case "I'm just an idiot" feels different, especially since this spin-off was released back in 2016.

An interesting fact to point out is that Tsutomu Nihei , one of the mangaka Isayama look up to , also has a school spin off of his manga Blame! called Blame Academy! , wonder if there's a connection here.

I think the sauna panels was for an advertisment his own SPA center X) there's a CD drama that contains 2 part of this spinoff if you are intersted.
There is a CD drama of the high school AU and the story makes you more aware that this sidestory is a reference to The Breakfast Club. Even the box art of the CD is a 1:1 of The Breakfast Club poster (the one with the cast sitting/laying on the ground). You can find the audio recording and translation here in YT. It's pretty much the same as the movie. EMA and other students get stuck in detention and are ordered to write an essay by Erwin. The kids argue a lot but eventually get to learn more about each other. Erwin complains that kids are reckless and irrational while Levi acts as the voice of reason and reminds him that no one at their age have things sorted out.
I like how this is true to their original characters, Ymir never experienced betrayal and life as a titan for hundreds of years. Historia was not exiled, and instead pampered. Eren has nothing to fight and no outer force (Ymir) controlling his actions, so he is free but purposeless. Jean never joined the military, so he stayed as an arrogant a$$. Reiner isn't depressed because he wasn't turned into a child soldier. Mikasa never had her parents killed or got Ackerman powers, so she didn't need to force herself into a survivor.
I want them to have Eren reincarnate into this Attack On School Caste world in an anime spinoff. Eren will have all his memories from the main series but for the spinoff it’ll mostly be a lighthearted slice of life comedy where everyone is alive and just living their lives in a modern setting. Thankfully, the series also shows us that once he does get thrust into a crazy situation (abducted by a CULT 😂), he’s scared out of his mind and reconsiders!
“ is this what it means to be special? This is scary! I just wanna go back!”
Bruh 💀
An interesting fact to point out is that Tsutomu Nihei , one of the mangaka Isayama look up to , also has a school spin off of his manga Blame! called Blame Academy! , wonder if there's a connection here.
I feel like this spin-off is like a quick run thru of OG AOT with he zombies ones being the Zeke summons titan scene and the Ymir cult and stuff being the church of Ymir in marlye
I love the school castes. I don't think they have completely different personalities, I think this is simply who they'd be without the immense amounts of trauma LMAOOOO especially Mikasa.
I'm still in disbelief that main story eren could see all possible outcomes and still fumbled Goth Mikasa gf.
whats up with the obsession over goths?
DOCTOR: goth Mikasa is not real she fant hurt you.
GOTH MIKASA:
A modern slice of life aot anime would be amazing 🔥
I loved those sketches so much to the point I even wrote a whole fanfic story that happens in that universe.Isayama once said he will only work in dark humor stories. I think the sauna panels was for an advertisment his own SPA center X)
there's a CD drama that contains 2 part of this spinoff if you are intersted.
Oh wow. Is the radio drama available on RUclips?
yes,I can send you the channel just give me one of your S.Media account @@KMC005
That's really cool!
I was getting breakfast club thoughts while watching this guy talk about this!
I need goth Mikasa.NOW
I want them to have Eren reincarnate into this Attack On School Caste world in an anime spinoff. Eren will have all his memories from the main series but for the spinoff it’ll mostly be a lighthearted slice of life comedy where everyone is alive and just living their lives in a modern setting. Maybe Eren and goth Mikasa finally get the happy ending they deserve.
Tbf eren is probably already reincarnated into school castes, just doesn’t have his memories
why do people even think that Eren had to reincarnate into this universe. I believe that this spin-off is not directly related to the main universe in any way. it's just made to reveal the characters better by showing them in a different setting. so, for example, we were shown that without Eren's dream to achieve something (without obvious enemies - titans /the world and without obvious restraint of freedom), he does not know what he wants from life. as if hinting that in fact eren is really looking for adventures on his ass, even if he has freedom, he does not need it, unlike achieving this freedom - fighting. even if it doesn't make sense (well, after Eren's words in the finale, "I don't know why, I just wanted it") this spin-off seems to clarify the seemingly incomprehensible situation in the final in Eren's motivation, in which case "I'm just an idiot" feels different, especially since this spin-off was released back in 2016.@@erenjinchuriki
@@amfev2671 because when Eren connects with the Founding Titan, one of his memory shards shows nerd Armin and Gothkasa. Also, in one of the bonus chapters of the manga, School Castes EMA are shown watching a movie about The Rumbling, they mentioned off-handedly that the movie is about events that happened in the past century. That’s why people think they got reincarnated.
goth mikasa makes me to unspeakable things
There's this one art with gloomy grown Eren and grown goth Mikasa and it's sooo good ❤
I really want this to be animated 😭
The coolest part about Marco is that we only see his left side untill the final panel reveal.
2:27 bro is trying to take the founding titan's power :))
Hanji: Levi, we need to cook!
I hope they make an anime about them living a happy normal life and we can finally see Eren and Mikasa being together happily 😔
I wanna see goth Mikasa.
i remember watching junior high between the break of season 1 and season 2
same :)
Back before S4 there was talk of AOT High. I don’t know if it’s still planned to be made. But if it is, I hope it’s based off AOT School Castes
"Levi we need to cook"
I like to see it as an alternate timeline of the same world where the Titans and the Eldian empire never existed.
Fun fact: Isayma based aot (sort of) on Breaking bad
Its also one of his favourite Series
That armin and mikasa different ver. Is spot on about the fandom thinks about the ending 😅😅😅
The author of aot loved breaking bad
how did they predict that aot would end in 10 years?????? it was all pland out
Looks like Eren is controlling this too
I think that was the fake preview for one of the final manga volumes, so it had already been nine or 10 years by that point
i think the sauna scene is a reference to all of them being titan shifters and how they emit steam
Eren has rizz inside him he just hasn't awakened it just yet
I'd love for this to get an anime adaptation. Even a short run, but theres so much you can do with it. Episodic storytelling is one of my favorite mediums.
I love when a really serious show gets a really not serious spin offs
0:07 Wait the what!?
Fans deserve the highschool spin off after the torment and sadness the actual story left in all of us
Fr
I think this was 4-5 years ago. Some random kid gaslit me into believing there was a book that the entirety of Attack On Titan was based on and then just ended up giving me a lot of manga spoilers and stuff, the thing that confused me is he talked about them moving into modern times. At first I thought he was refering to Marley, but I THINK HE WAS TALKING ABOUT THIS? Middle schoolers are so fucking weird.
this spin off needs adaption
He turned miskasa into a baddie tho😊
The high school castes guys being in ep 78 is in the manga too, and its not an anime only scene. You can spot goth mikasa and nerd armin panels somewhere in that part of the manga if you looked hard enough. I distinctly remember when that chapter had first come out, how obsessed people were with those panels.
I remember that, too! But to be fair, everyone just believed that the high school au was just a palate cleanser and fun little side story. Not an alternate timeline/universe that might actually be connected to main AOT.
@@jeagerzbomb9924 Well, I would say that a certain group of obsessed theorizers had many people who believed it tied in lmao. I never thought that either.
5:00 they referenced the broken "Ive been waiting for this day" subtitles on the Live Action movie lmfao
I never read attack on titan, only on attack on high school castes. Isayama should do more of them.
Attack on Titan x breaking bad= breaking walls
3:18
Levi uppercutting a zombie with a broom in the background lmfao
Gosh i hope this get animated
We need this thing animated 😂
There was a interview done with Hajime Isayama where he explicitly said he was a fan of Breaking Bad and this make so much sense now on why he made this spinoff short comic chapters at the end of the manga books!!
“Upon Eren’s death, he finally had clarity upon what he did, how he got there, and what could’ve been. With the final vestige of his power, he decided to plead to the Paths, that his friends, his enemies, even himself, gain a world without the horrors they experienced, without the titans, without the wars… without his horrible choices… with that final, desperate wish, this world was born, built with the souls of the previous world’s denizens…”
What?
I wonder if this is an alternative reality where Ymir covered her daughters instead of King Fritz. That would be amazing.
