They are a radiofriendly metalcore band. Nothing bad about that btw. Vice Grip is a solid metalcore song. I like them they are awesome live, despite the massive use of prerecorded sample and despite the fact that it's really accessible music.

George you got it on the nose tbh, "homogenized and commericial/cheesy" that's kinda what this era of parkway drive and forward seemed to be. I highly suggest to go back to them on an older song. Anything big from Atlas or older I'd say check out. Unfortunately after Atlas they went for a more commercialized sound and they just didnt age well. Atlas I'd say bridges the gap between catchier music and metalcore pretty damn well so my vote is for "Wild Eyes", one of their biggest songs while still being good imo. Their older albums like deep blue are definitely on the heavier side if you guys are looking for that more
There's so many great ABR songs, would be hard to pick the "perfect first song". I'd throw in Spirit Breaker, Everlasting Ending and also Meddler as that's kind of the one song that got their name out there.

Mathew Mclennan wild eyes and the album that song is on is my favorite so that’s a good one to start with. But from this album they could have chosen Crushed or Dedicated, which are really good.

People fell in love with songs like Idols and Anchors, Romance Is Dead, Deliver Me, so on so forth. We don't enjoy that they ditched their fast, punky sound for a more groovy, radio friendly song. When you change your sound so much that it completely shifts genres and sounds nothing like what got you big, that's what gets you hate. That's why people hated Ire.

@@follower505 TBH, it is really hard to evolve musically and still keep your fans satisfied. The only band I know that pulled this off was Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, who switched from Death Metal to Power Metal, put out a wonderful acoustic album and still kept "their" sound throughout all these transitions. Apart from them, I only know bands who evolved and alienated their original fanbase or who didn't evolve at all.

I've seen only a few other channels do punk reactions. Everyone reacts to the same songs over and over. These channels need some new blood. Rancid, Ramones, The Clash, Bad Religion, Bouncing Souls, Dropkick Murphys, The Damned, etc. I'd love to see some ska and psychobilly as well.

Totally agree with George on this one. As a long time metalcore fan, I could never really get into parkway drive, much less this song/album. Really basic, boring, safe, and corny tbh.
If you guys want more metalcore, please please please react to some While She Sleeps! 'Hurricane', 'Back of my Mind', or 'Anti-Social' for example. You could also listen to some Architects, Wage War, Hacktivist, etc.
This is definitely their more "homogenized" version of themselves. I implore you to check out any song off of their first 3 albums for a good representation of why people do love this band so much.

Definitely overrated band, that followed the metalcore trend without having great abilities, but Deep Blue is fuckin great (but it's the only one).

I've seen only a few other channels do punk reactions. Everyone reacts to the same songs over and over. These channels need some new blood. Rancid, Ramones, The Clash, Bad Religion, Bouncing Souls, Dropkick Murphys, The Damned, etc. I'd love to see some ska and psychobilly as well.

Totally agree with George on this one. As a long time metalcore fan, I could never really get into parkway drive, much less this song/album. Really basic, boring, safe, and corny tbh.

This is definitely their more "homogenized" version of themselves. I implore you to check out any song off of their first 3 albums for a good representation of why people do love this band so much.
