This is from the golden era of diesel powdered sedans. Audi took the crown by making and fitting any diesel engine configuration and size. From 4 cylinders to 6 to 8 to 10 to 12 cylinders. Gone are the good old days.
It is sad. The world tree huggers making it harder for car manufacturers to make less restricted diesels and petrol cars and expect all cars to be electric. Can't beat a diesel especially for motorway commutes. Will be soon starting a new job requiring 30 mile trips. Been looking at BMWs 30d diesels though forgot about audis 3 litre V6 diesels
The Volkswagen Touareg V10 twin turbo diesel.... the same engine Audi was going to use (with additional tuning) to create probably the craziest "supercar" ever, the Audi Nanuk....a V10 Bi-turbo diesel with AWD that looked like a Lamborghini Gallardo and an Audi R8 got together behind Mamma VAG's back and birthed a child, a V10TT Diesel AWD Supercar child that could also be driven anywhere like a Porsche Dakar or Lamborghini Staccato.... it's actually a shame they never built that thing, that thing could've been super dope. If I had the money, I'd definitely scoop up an R8 or Gallardo and swap in that V10TT Diesel with some tuning, backed by a 6spd manual of course.... cheap fuel, 500hp, 1000ft-lbs of torque 😅
My 2.0 TDI, on 303.000km aswell. Sadly, had to change the turbo + oil pump last year. Great car, but i'm thinking about changing it ~150HP is too low for me rn.
@@MrKapucyn19 bought mine new back in 2008 2.0 tdi caga engine code removed dpf egr and remapped on dyno result 196 hp 427 nm ...had it for 13 years sold it at 296000 tkm and bought a 2009 2.7 v6 fwd did same thing result 240 hp 532 nm...my favourite car platform..next will be 2014 b8.5 3.0 tdi

And about the turbo, maybe i wrote it wrong, but actually i only regenerated the one that was broke, so it's not brand new (though it holds good rn, and no powerloss whatsoever). I have some other problems like rust in many places, electronic problems, too much to invest tbh. Also B8 is old for my preferences, like i have to use a FM Transmitter to play music from my phone, while new cars like B9 can play it through Bluetooth no problem, and they don't lose as much on quality. Lots to say.
@@MrKapucyn19 FM transmitters suck I agree, you can get cheap MMI bluetooth adapter that plugs into glovebox and u have bluetooth for music. I did similar to my car and quality is just like AUX. Shame about rust and electrical problems B8 is not that old. Also repaired turbo can be as good as new one if done at reputable place. But yeah B9 looks much better inside and out, big upgrade in my opinion!
The owner should first repair the rust and buy some decent tyres before doing a tune. And while at it, he should do a dpf and intake clean. This thing performs closer to a 2.0 than a v6 diesel at the moment.
this car has acceleration and speed just barelly better than my 150hp diesel manual transmission sedan (mid 8s 0-100 and 220 gps top speed)... i get awd cause more power loss than rdw but... this engine claimed 240hp but feels more like 170...
Two things to point out after watching this great review of a car lot of people can afford (not maintain lol) - This A4 weights at least 1700kg dry, 1400 would be something to dream about. Secondly, it seems more like a 180-190hp based on driving dynamics.

Few facts about this car. The engine seems "dead", as the intake manifold is full with soot or has any other problems. Normally running A4 3.0 TDI goes to 260 on the speedo without any problems, with ease! There is clearly something wrong with it. Could also be DPF, broken flap(s), Turbine regulation.... Owner thinking about tuning it, but does fit dangerous Chinese tyres? My God...
3.0 TDI is one of the best VAG engines ever made. Powerful, fuel efficient, and surprisingly very good reliability. You can easily get 500k kms out of these cars even with the stock timing chain; although it usually needs to be replaced at 300k.
Yeah, it's not the chain that's the problem.. but the hydrolic tensioners... Mine's at 216k and I'm hoping it will make it to 300k+ since I just did a new clutch, flywheel and gearbox revision :D
@@kenvanpassen9247it will surpass even 450k with the first chain if you change the oil often + use qualitative oil. Proper service and it will run all day long. These chains are ass to change when needed. CCWA best 3.0 tdi engine, solid as fuxk. It’s a bulletproof engine. Prefacelift btw.

Manual torquey diesels are a lot of fun! Also this 3.0 can sound like HELL with some mods...I remember a red A5 with +300HP here on RUclips and it had me drooling mostly because of its sound. 😍
In 2014, I had a 3.0 TDI Quatto A5! This brings back good memories. I had mine stage 1 remapped, too.. I look forward to seeing the car in a few months.
This car is dead at steering system also. I had almost new A4 B8 and E90 and E90 is worse in steering system to A4 B8. A4 is little gokard with very sensitive steering, so his opinion about dead steering was actually weird. A4 B8 and dead steering? Wtf?

This car has a serious engine problem. I reckon it puts out not one HP over 190hp. I have seen 190HP A4s run mid 7s very comfortably with the 2.0 TDI and top out at around 230 gps. This one needs some serious engine repairs before the tune
This one hits home for me... Since I drive a 2008 3.0TDI A5, but mine is tuned allready. 320hp/ 678Nm I kinda think this A4 has lost some power... My A5 stock did 240 gps easily. And it allso didn't take 8. something seconds to a 100kph...
Driving audi's tdis from 2016 and i don't recret, very reliable and so much torqe, never have problems, at the moment its q7 2017 3.0 tdi , had a coolant leak problem in the engine valve, but other than than 100k and no problms
I have the same B8 with 3.0 TDI CCWA and 6-speed auto ZF and quattro. It has 420 000 kms on the odo and still driving like new. Very reliable car, which has everything you actually need from a car - adaptive radar cruise control, cornering lights, heated and ventilated seats and heated rear ones, auxilary parking heating, keyless, automatic trunk door and many other extras typical for a high end limousines. Not gonna replace that car soon for sure.
The b8 has adaptive radar? What year? I didn't think that came in until circa 2016ish. How has maintenance costs been? Guessing it doesn't have high beam assist or auto hold?
I think if the guy decides to refresh the engine so that the escaped horses are back in the stall the results can be astonishing enough to make him change his mind about stage 1. 0-100 in 8.5 seconds and struggling to build up speed when past 170 kph are clear signs that something is wrong. A car like this with a 3.0 tdi should be able to go much faster. Not to mention that using the increased power after remapping of an engine when it is not in perfect condition can bring it to the end of its’ life rather quickly.

I think befor Chip Tuning you should do a Clean up of the Air Intake from Carbon Build up, put some Diesel System Cleaner in your Diesel Tank and change the Air Intake Sensor and Lambdas. Because after all this Years they often sleepy.
Drive a B8 2.0 TDI for a couple of years. Loved the platform but if you want to buy one, go for the facelift as the pre facelift interior is very cheap. The Golf 7 I had after it was a upgrade interior wise.

Currently owning a b7 tfsi quattro avant, manual 6spd with 320 hp (RSR remap, k&n intake, downpipe, complete Fox sport exhaust, sport cats), S line leather interior. Seating on a 18" DTM edition wheels with spacers and six piston front brakes. It's in a very good condition but it has 385k kilometers.

About 360.000km… A few days ago, the intake manifolds, thermostat, alternator belt, and water pump were replaced. I am seriously thinking about upgrading it and create a serious sleeper…
Ye, but A4 B8 Avant is definitely better than the Sedan one, Avant is one of the best Kombis ever made, even today it looks pretty great on the roads. If we're talking about sedan, just go for A5 or A6, cause A4's sedan looks like a Passat.
The owner must install a Bullet wheel on the turbo and recondition the turbo for the stage 1 tune and a Front mount intercooler and silicone boost pipes It will be able to reach 280 Horse Power and 630 nm easily
This car should do 250kmh if the engine was in a good shape. It can't exceed 230kmh so i'm sure it needs some care after it. Maybe with new injectors, a nice new air filter... These engines are also known for generating proper amounts of cinder inside. I would do this jobs first, launch it and then the ecu remap.
My 170 hp 2.0 a4 quattro avant reached 180km/h uphill no sweat with 2 people on board, also 6 speed manual It is not in perfect condition But i feel bad for this 3.0
1400 kilos seems wrong .. my mk6 golf gtd weighs more than 1500 kilos and it’s a 2.0l and it also seems to perform better with only 170hp higher top speed too i think the owner should check the engine before doing any tuning on it, good car and review nonetheless love some v6 tdi with good torque !
I had one of these. It was fine in a straight line but I found the steering far too light and had no idea what the car was doing underneath when going round corners...
was waiting for this one, have the same a4 2008 combi, a good reliability car, comfortable and affordable, at the moment im only having issues with the doors, when they are locked with the key, and then open with the key, you can't open them from outside only from inside then it will open from outside as well, and a couple months ago cleaned the DPF filter, have it for almost a year and its going great/(also if you can do more videos like this affordable everyday cars)

@@MrKapucyn19 Tune it, simple remap takes you to 180hp you have new turbo so no worries. Just don't push more than 180hp EGTs get too high.

Spot on observation. Performance wise seems similar to my 2.0 tdi with 177 hp.

Did about the same in a test drive and got up to about 245km/h(Tachometer). From the speed I'm seeing in the vid it looks closer to the 2.7 V6

The B8 was a game changer for Audi at the time.

My 330d with 258 hp does it in 5.3 seconds mainly due to the ZF8 transmission but it is really fast for a diesel

The S-Line version comes with sportier and stiffer suspension, i had a b7 3.0tdi a4 s line and it was a very fun and comfy car

Ye, but A4 B8 Avant is definitely better than the Sedan one, Avant is one of the best Kombis ever made, even today it looks pretty great on the roads. If we're talking about sedan, just go for A5 or A6, cause A4's sedan looks like a Passat.

6.5 0-100 sounds correct to me. Ive done 5.8 (on the speedo so probably 6.2ish gps) in my e90 325d with a tune
That’s as fast as my Peugeot 308 SW GT BlueHDI 180 (diesel) from 2015 with tune: 210 hp and 472 Nm

This car should do 250kmh if the engine was in a good shape. It can't exceed 230kmh so i'm sure it needs some care after it. Maybe with new injectors, a nice new air filter... These engines are also known for generating proper amounts of cinder inside. I would do this jobs first, launch it and then the ecu remap.

My 170 hp 2.0 a4 quattro avant reached 180km/h uphill no sweat with 2 people on board, also 6 speed manual

1400 kilos seems wrong .. my mk6 golf gtd weighs more than 1500 kilos and it’s a 2.0l and it also seems to perform better with only 170hp higher top speed too
i think the owner should check the engine before doing any tuning on it, good car and review nonetheless love some v6 tdi with good torque !
This car weights 1655kg ready to drive, also this engine makes 237hp an 500nm all are with quatrro all whell drive.
Next time when you try to hit the top speed please use the 6 gear also, in the 5 gear you will not going to rich the top speed!😉

Same engine in my A5 3.0 tdi year 2007 and manual.
I had one of these. It was fine in a straight line but I found the steering far too light and had no idea what the car was doing underneath when going round corners...

Unfortunately that Mk1 Golf tdi and this tdi weren't shown in their best light. Seems like this one is down on power and Mk1 had piping issue..

was waiting for this one, have the same a4 2008 combi, a good reliability car, comfortable and affordable, at the moment im only having issues with the doors, when they are locked with the key, and then open with the key, you can't open them from outside only from inside then it will open from outside as well, and a couple months ago cleaned the DPF filter, have it for almost a year and its going great/(also if you can do more videos like this affordable everyday cars)
Yep got the same problem with my doors on my a4 b8
door lock assembly, goes dodgy and requires replacing :)

2008 3 litter diesel , in Greece that would be 1000+ euros every year just for road tax plus 170€ for insurance every 6 months
