I subbed to you a long time ago, you know when I'm talking about. You've ALWAYS had the potential and you're making it all work. I'm so happy for you brother!
Well, after going back and checking he actually stated they can't be overclocked. As stated here, the polling rates on most xbox controllers are locked. But, it does seem that he was able to overclock the eswapX Pro, I definitely have to look into that!
@@vCuda hey bud love your videos, I understand from the video that Xbox controllers have locked polling rates. How come there’s videos and articles saying you can overclock them? Those same videos/articles have before and after numbers also. I’m not saying your lying I just don’t get why this one topic is so drastically different depending on who you ask? If you need videos or articles I can share them with just hoping to hearing your opinion thanks,
@@JuanHernandez-tn8rk it'd be nice to see where and how they got their numbers. Because in the places I'm looking, and the testing I've conducted, they're pretty identical. Xbox Controllers can be overclocked, but the majority of the time it does little to nothing like I've stated. So while in some cases you will TECHNICALLY get an advantage, it wouldn't be worth much more than a millisecond or 2 perhaps. Which is why my title simply states that you "cant" cause it's a much easier explanation lol I'd actually love to be wrong about this one. Because I don't think the difference between 1 and 8 milliseconds, for instance, is that significant. BUT it is a difference, and it matters for competitive/Pro players. So hopefully there are methods of forcing an overclock that don't make the controller bug out in some way like the Victrix Gambit

I think it's worth mentioning that in some cases there is a difference, but it's very miniscule. To the point where it doesn't really make much of a difference. Like I said, some overclocking may help make response times more consistent, and in a few cases it may even drop on average 1-2ms, but nothing more than that So while you CAN overclock them, it doesn't actually do much in any case even when it has an effect. At least not like it does with PlayStation controllers. I just wanted to clear that up since I may have caused some confusion! My wording is sometimes unintentionally misleading, like the "thorough testing" part at the beginning of the video lol. The testing seemed, when I wrote the original script, pretty consistent. But that's just due to the method of testing, which isn't actually giving out accurate response times, only polling rates

You actually can overclock them it actually boosts polling rate and makes input lag less. They are definatly not capped because i have tried it and everytime i overclock the controller is faster.
You can overclock Xbox controllers, it creates a minimal improvement but there is some. In the Rocket science video he talks about how there’s a locked polling rate however you can get the same input to be read earlier. It resulted in about a 1.5 millisecond improvement
I mentioned this in a comment on this video somwhere. While you can overclock the controllers, the improvement is so minimal that imo, it's not worth the time. Which is why the title is the way it is
Playing Apex on Xbox Series X, I always felt like most of the controllers had noticeable input lag even with a wired connection. The Victrix is the fastest feeling one I've tried so far, could notice the difference coming from the Elite 1 and 2 (wired).
That’s insane because Series X and the Elite Series 2 controller use DLI now and that’s supposed to mitigate inputlag to some degree. It’s facts that on a pc, ps5 controllers would be ideal but on it’s own console the xbox controllers are pretty decent too. I just wish DLI would be supported on pc too.
Overclocking controllers for that get the quickest input response sounds amazing, sadly I’ll never benefit from it cuz I’m always admiring the environment of the game and get handed all the time lol

Step one I went to change and turn off my safe boot in BIOS. step 2 I ran the program as usual. step 3 I checked and now my polling rate for my scuff is a thousand and my bi-linear number is one. Also I definitely feel the slight differences for example in war zone when I was parachuting it was really hard to parachute through windows or on top of ladders now it's a little bit more precise.
changing the polling rate that you see there doesn't mean the controller is actually polling at that rate when it comes to xbox controllers- they're hard locked.

what do u think is the best ps controller with paddles i’m on xbx series x v2 and i have horrible delay the sticks on the xbox controller are really stiff as well which i hate but i don’t wanna get a scuf because they break to easy any recommendations
I'd say try a Battle Beaver with light customization. They seem very solid, but they aren't cheap and their warranty is ass. You could also try Aim, they utilize Paddles instead of buttons and their warranties last a lifetime, but don't cover Stick drift
Victrix gambit controller overclock to 1.9ms 500 polling rate only on pc and it always have to be calibrated through its software for the analog sticks to work properly plus the paddles are to hard to press and they are made to close together. Just make shure everybody to overclock the usb port aswell if playing wired overclocked controllers usb is always 250hz polling rate (exept mouse port wich goes straight to the cpu then its 1000hz) Bluetooth receiver is always polling at 1000hz Possible overclock up to 8000hz im not shure This here relates to the outgoing signal from the controllers polling rate wich will make tje controllers poll faster with outgoing signal The receiving end needs to match the same polling rate to fully utilize the increased polling otherwise the input lag will stay the same or only have small improvements
so the xbox version of the new scuff instinct pro is not overclockable ? i just paid over 250$ for this controller... im using timer resolution app...thoughts?
Kinda hilarious Microsoft locks their controller response time on their own PC platform 😂 now I see why so many Apex and COD pros use DualShocks or the new one
They lock it due to the xbox controller needing to be at 125hz as much as possible for it to work alongside “Dynamic Latency Input” which is a console feature. The firmware is in the controller, and the controller is intended to be played on the consoles obviously, though people choose to use their controllers on pcs which is no big deal. Now if we’re talking about bring “DLI” to pc, this would be a game changer and we’d be talking about xbox controllers being almost as consistent to Sony controllers interns of their 1ms latency controllers.
Can you also test out the Thrustmaster eswap controller? There was a youtuber with the name TacticalBrit that made a controller video and he said the thrustmaster eswap(xbox) has the fastest sticks on the market (possibly even less input lag then ps4/ps5 controllers)
Can a bad wire cause the controller to feel laggy or just not right iv got the fusion pro 2 and set it down after every game and it's not feeling good lately or maybe it's just warzone?????
Hey man I love your videos and reviews and just found this one for some reason? I don't know, but you mentioned that you would eventually post another video about how to overclock and the program you use to find polling rate, but I am not seeing one on here anywhere - Is that still in the process? Thanks man! p.s. you should do a tier list of controllers video or live stream because it is kinda hard filtering through all of the different review videos to see which ones might be better (or worse) than others :)
I'm a huge fan of Budget products but I find it hard to review some when there are others that provide better features at the same price. However, I do have plans for the 8bitdo, the Turtle Beach Recon, and the PowerA Enhanced Controllers in the near future. They'll all be sharing a video together
The PDP controller can be overclocked to 1000hz. It’s the cheapest controller at Walmart but is the only one that can be overclocked (besides the victrix)
Hi, can you let me know if you are using a vader 4, whether its worth overclocking to play xbox series x, using the wingman xb4 convertor to use it on the console
@cuda did you ever find out if u can overclock a elite series 2 or what hz it’s set at cuz I looked mine up on a overclocking website it said my elite series 2 was at 1000hz cuz u can adjust the stick movement and trigger pull on Xbox accessories
DS4 Windows converts it to XInput and also doesn't add any additional delay from what I've read from a few sources online. Of course, there are probably much more accurate ways to test this, but this seemed to have worked
i bought the powera fusion pro for ps4 because i thought you can overclock it. but even overclocked it has like 3.9ms input lag. is it like an xbox controller with ps skin or what?
Ive seen videos of controller overclocking here and there. It seems like they are just overclocking the USB port that the controller is connected to, not the controller itself. Unless something has changed in the past couple years and im completely wrong, which im pretty sure I am.
No youre actually right. The program doesn't actually overclock the actual controller itself. It's simply telling the USB port to "ask" for more updates from the controller every 1ms instead of the standard 4ms(ps4/ps5) or 8ms(xbox). You still see a improvement in a xbox controller it's just not to that of the degree a ps4/ps5 controller
I have 1 question, with the power a fusion pro 2 does the triggers still only actuate half way when using they trigger stops, making it difficult to drive since u don’t get full throttle?
If so is there a fix to that, I’ll buy it if not but if it does I’d rather jus go with the gambit controller that has good trigger stops (u should review it)
You can recalibrate the trigger stops when they're on so you have full range of motion when the trigger stops are active! This is possible with all PowerA Controllers, its very useful
ok ok i hear you but what if, and hear me out hear, but what if the xbox controller was still better than the ps controller anyways??? even if its worse and even if its terrible??
I oc my series 2 and instinct pro. Just had to turn off secure boot in bios. I noticed a big difference too. Even noticed when it got turned off randomly after a firmware update.
I'll have to look into that. I havent heard a word about secure boot from anyone on the internet until just now. And I've look deep into Overclocking Id also just like to say, from my perspective, it's literally impossible to notice a difference. If humans respond on average in 200-250ms there's no way we can notice the difference from 1-8ms. Even the fastest of people only respond at 150ms at best, so a few milliseconds won't be the most noticeable thing
@@vCuda that's true I could be imagining it too. I need to use that program you used to get actual #s. You mentioned that would be in your next video? I'll comment on that vid if I was wrong or not.
@@vCuda I oc'd my elite series 2 and I definitely notice a huge difference. Don't know about the whole human reaction time science. But I can definitely say my aim is much better. This is crazy cuz i coincidentally have been intrigued in the response time for my razer wolverine ultimate and cant find the info anywhere. I cant wait!❤❤
Yes i whant to know the wolverine ultimate or wolverine v2 chroma response time aswell it seems to be faster than 2ms Ibe tried 2ms controller with DLI but The wolverine v2 chroma seems faster
They both have a similar polling rate. The only outlier between the OG Spectra, Spectra Enhanced, Spectra Infinity, and Fusion V1 & V2, was the Fusion V1. it's the only one with a 125hz polling rate, the others have a 250hz polling rate
There are only "some" (and whay i mean by some is some licensed 3rd party ones) Xbox controllers you can overclock and yes it actually works and yes the system detects it and so far I was able to Overclock Victrix Dual Core (seen in the video) Gambit 1000hz and the 500hz Thrustmaster Eswap X ..... Also vCuda, do you notice you get 1000hz w/ a wired headset plugged in compared to 500hz when no wired headset is plugged in???
Can someone help? I’ve seen videos on how to overclock my series X controller and to my knowledge, I’ve done it. My polling rate is at 1000. In my head I think it is faster and feels better and but is it not actually at 1000 polling rate?
Will you ever do a review on the evil Xbox controller with full attachments I only ask because I would love a controller tear down video I really need it to use the helder tech analog stick drift fix I know it’s a stock series x controller but there paddle and instant trigger setup makes it really hard to get to the pcb
Idk what I did but my Xbox razor wolverine TE once hit 1000 hz and 1ms response time when tested with XInput. It’s never done it again but over clocking it still shows better number in xinput than without overclocking and I can tell when it’s not overclocked.
@k_aon1 i like the razor but really want to try a 1000 hz 1ms. its stock 124 and 240 hz overclocked it also has two extra buttons that are useful just wish it would hit 1000 hz
Can you review the GuliKit King Kong 2 Pro Controller? They are claiming to have hall effect joysticks and triggers and wanted your awesome review on it.
@vcuda when u do controller reviews can u add in the video, the x and y values and how the controller reacts to deadzones on xbox controller tester app,and controller tester app.i really am into controllers that zero midpoint themselves back to center when lifting off the sticks, some controllers are different than others, and also, can u detail about controllers tensions?please!u the man homie
Question is: Can you really feel difference going from 4ms to 1ms. It's good to know it's as fast as possible but not sure if it's noticeable. Can someone comment?
Many will say they feel a difference but its simply a placebo Imo. The human brain on average takes 200ms to respond. The fastest reactions recorded only reach about 150ms, so adding or subtracting 5-10ms doesn't really matter. They're extremely small measurements of time, there's 1000ms in a second, so its more than okay to spare a few lol
i can feel 9 ms response time reduction- it's literally night and day lol- i only play halo infinite though- with other games might not be as noticable

Possible overclock up to 8000hz im not shure
This here relates to the outgoing signal from the controllers polling rate wich will make tje controllers poll faster with outgoing signal
The receiving end needs to match the same polling rate to fully utilize the increased polling otherwise the input lag will stay the same or only have small improvements
Can you overclock the ps5 controller to use on console?
so the xbox version of the new scuff instinct pro is not overclockable ? i just paid over 250$ for this controller... im using timer resolution app...thoughts?
What about off brand xbox controllers?
Elite 2 on xbox series x has massive delay
Can a bad wire cause the controller to feel laggy or just not right iv got the fusion pro 2 and set it down after every game and it's not feeling good lately or maybe it's just warzone?????
I am gonna buy a new cable today but still wonder if that could be a thing in the future if it's not it rn
I have had two victrix controllers within 1 month of eachother and both broke the same way rb literally fell off
Hey man I love your videos and reviews and just found this one for some reason? I don't know, but you mentioned that you would eventually post another video about how to overclock and the program you use to find polling rate, but I am not seeing one on here anywhere - Is that still in the process? Thanks man!
p.s. you should do a tier list of controllers video or live stream because it is kinda hard filtering through all of the different review videos to see which ones might be better (or worse) than others :)
Will you review the 8bitdo Pro2 (Xbox Version)? its the controller I am using right now and I prefer it rather than the Original Series Controller.
I'm a huge fan of Budget products but I find it hard to review some when there are others that provide better features at the same price. However, I do have plans for the 8bitdo, the Turtle Beach Recon, and the PowerA Enhanced Controllers in the near future. They'll all be sharing a video together
I use to watch Rodey Bros! He a Good dude!
If I have already overclock my scuf xbox instinct controller and like you said doesn't even work...how do I reset and put it back to default
The PDP controller can be overclocked to 1000hz. It’s the cheapest controller at Walmart but is the only one that can be overclocked (besides the victrix)
the wired one?
@@lrft yeah
@@BenFoilHat whats the ms its pullinf
@@BenFoilHat and the hz in xinput
@@lrft I’m not sure the exact ms but it I was able to overclock it. I’ll make a video later today
Hi, can you let me know if you are using a vader 4, whether its worth overclocking to play xbox series x, using the wingman xb4 convertor to use it on the console
What’s the response time for a scuf instinct pro cause recently it’s felt a bit delayed
The opening when there a no context moment and it just "b*tch".
@cuda did you ever find out if u can overclock a elite series 2 or what hz it’s set at cuz I looked mine up on a overclocking website it said my elite series 2 was at 1000hz cuz u can adjust the stick movement and trigger pull on Xbox accessories
So can I play GEARS 5 on PC with PS4/PS5 controller with 1ms??????
So i have a power a fusion pro and it let me over clock my controller to 1ms does that mean it’s not accurate bc it feels like it ?
how are you getting the test results for those PlayStation controllers since Xinput is only for Xbox controllers?
DS4 Windows converts it to XInput and also doesn't add any additional delay from what I've read from a few sources online. Of course, there are probably much more accurate ways to test this, but this seemed to have worked
@@vCuda gotcha I’ll try that out
I don't know if it made a difference but I was able to overclock the fusion pro 2 but not the elite series 2
you should be the go to guy for stuff like this. you just got the look
Bro the time has come what new controller should I get this will be for my xbox
You are very funny and I love ur content amazing video keep it up
What about the thrustmaster playstation controller?? Similar to the xbox one. I have both
i bought the powera fusion pro for ps4 because i thought you can overclock it. but even overclocked it has like 3.9ms input lag. is it like an xbox controller with ps skin or what?
With this post being said. I use the razer tournament edition on my pc. Should I invest in the ps4 razer controller to overclock it?
Ive seen videos of controller overclocking here and there. It seems like they are just overclocking the USB port that the controller is connected to, not the controller itself. Unless something has changed in the past couple years and im completely wrong, which im pretty sure I am.
No youre actually right. The program doesn't actually overclock the actual controller itself. It's simply telling the USB port to "ask" for more updates from the controller every 1ms instead of the standard 4ms(ps4/ps5) or 8ms(xbox). You still see a improvement in a xbox controller it's just not to that of the degree a ps4/ps5 controller
been here for a long time, not gonna unsub anytime soon lol.
@@vCuda ok and r the thumb sticks grippy at all? I have the spectra version and they r like plastic and not grippy making my thumbs fall off
Oh I alr ask that
ok ok i hear you but what if, and hear me out hear, but what if the xbox controller was still better than the ps controller anyways??? even if its worse and even if its terrible??
🧐?
would it make a difference if the xbox controller was wired at all? or would BT be the best way to use it?
I oc my series 2 and instinct pro. Just had to turn off secure boot in bios. I noticed a big difference too. Even noticed when it got turned off randomly after a firmware update.
Exactly . Secure boot needs to be off why don’t people understand that
I'll have to look into that. I havent heard a word about secure boot from anyone on the internet until just now. And I've look deep into Overclocking
Id also just like to say, from my perspective, it's literally impossible to notice a difference.
@@vCuda I mean I notice a difference from my Xbox and ps5 controller and I have an Xbox instinct
@@vCuda I oc'd my elite series 2 and I definitely notice a huge difference. Don't know about the whole human reaction time science. But I can definitely say my aim is much better. Everything just feels more responsive. I'm hitting parrys so well. I can build and flick people much easier.
Had to turn secure boot off tho.
This is crazy cuz i coincidentally have been intrigued in the response time for my razer wolverine ultimate and cant find the info anywhere. I cant wait!❤❤
Yes i whant to know the wolverine ultimate or wolverine v2 chroma response time aswell it seems to be faster than 2ms
Ibe tried 2ms controller with DLI but The wolverine v2 chroma seems faster
My powera fusion 2 says the interval goes to 1ms, and I think there is a difference so I’m not sure. Maybe it’s mental
What about the scuf instinct?
Can you do a review on the extreme rate custom Xbox series X controller analog sticks and extreme rate shell and accent rings?
which is faster and or better to get the fusion pro 2 or spectra infinity I guess which one has the lowest input lag plz respond
They both have a similar polling rate. The only outlier between the OG Spectra, Spectra Enhanced, Spectra Infinity, and Fusion V1 & V2, was the Fusion V1. it's the only one with a 125hz polling rate, the others have a 250hz polling rate
Do you know if the 360 controller can be overclocked?
No it can not
There are only "some" (and whay i mean by some is some licensed 3rd party ones) Xbox controllers you can overclock and yes it actually works and yes the system detects it and so far I was able to Overclock Victrix Dual Core (seen in the video) Gambit 1000hz and the 500hz Thrustmaster Eswap X
.....
Probably not, when you test it you’re probably only getting like 125-250 polling rate
NGL IMMA SUB CAUSE YOU HAVE A SNAP ON JACKET LOL GOOD INFO TOO
Will you ever do a review on the evil Xbox controller with full attachments I only ask because I would love a controller tear down video I really need it to use the helder tech analog stick drift fix I know it’s a stock series x controller but there paddle and instant trigger setup makes it really hard to get to the pcb
So, should i play Gears of War with PS4 controller, imagine wallbouncing at 1ms
Is there a way to adjust the mouse click triggers? They feel a bit hard to press.
Can you review the GuliKit King Kong 2 Pro Controller?
They are claiming to have hall effect joysticks and triggers and wanted your awesome review on it.
did i fr just spend my entire afternoon tryna overclock my controller 😭
Should I play halo on PC with a ps4 controller? 🤔
I'd say its a solid idea for a simple game like Halo, providing you aren't trying to be competitive
@@vCuda wanna be competitive. Battle beaver maybe? Love my spectra but the trigger lock broke after a month
@@vCudaeverything counts , specially if you a pro
