    I've been to Mexico City many times. I go there with the intention of spending a few days and then heading to other parts of Mexico but I always get stuck for sometimes weeks. It's my favorite city in the world. Just layers of culture, art and then there's the wonderful people. I must say, you introduced me to a few spots I had missed. I've never been to the China town!!! I do recommend Plaza Garibaldi in the evening. Many Mariachi bands and families and couples spending their money on music. Just lovely.

      Plaza Garibaldi, Has its reputation of being dangerous, lots of assaults happen there, and it’s not what it used to be so many years ago, the locals really tell people to avoid that area, especially at night. It’s not in a good area of the city.

    • @elaineadams3982
      @elaineadams3982 2 года назад +3

      @@kikim2592 Yes, the locals will warn you about leaving your hotel after dark. I always stay in the zona historico and enjoy the pedestrian streets around there after dark. I think the locals are warning you about the callejones behind the Plaza Garibaldi. Lots of long bars and what not. But if staying on the plaza itself seems safe to me. Experiencing Plaza Garibaldi is such a quintessentially Mexican experience. It's a shame to miss out.

CDMX checks so many boxes, weather, culture, food, affordable, parks, museums and the warmed and friendliness of the Mexican peoples puts it over the top. I don’t recall interacting with any locals in any of the above cities, they aren’t interest in getting to know you.

      Yes, it’s a lie, thanks to Hollywood and the U.S. government and media. If Mexico was located in Europe it would be seen with different eyes. Mexico is like any other country. It has its good and bad side. It seems like The U.S. has this grudge against Mexico. When Canadians and U.S. senior citizens started to travel to Mexico to buy less expensive medicines. The U.S government and health insurance companies started a negative campaign against Mexico, claiming that its medicines were of poor quality and you might die. They were trying to scare people so they would buy their more expensive drugs. If that was true, everybody in Mexico would be dead. So yes, don’t believe everything you here.

    Great video. I have been to Mexico City 7 times, but I have only been able to see the sights you have shown. Seems like there are just too many things to see and do and not enough time to do them. However The Ballet De Folklorico is a must see if they are in town when you are there. Also the two coffee shops with bakeries in the zone rosa are work a stop since you are pastry lovers like me. I am not sure if it's still there but each time I was in Mexico City I stop in a gigantic bakery on one of the streets leading to the Xocalo. Yes I agree. Of course like any big city there is crime but the way people talk about it back home (if they haven’t been here) - is so wrong. People have no clue, and they just regurgitate what they hear from the media. It’s a shame because CDMX is a beautiful city!

    Saludos amigos

I can also recommend "La Case de Tono" at Londres 144, Juarez, Cuauhtémoc (La Condesa neighborhood). It too had authentic Mexican cuisine where the local eat! Sometimes there is a few minutes wait time, but well worth it. Nothing fancy ... just good food.
