I was there when the last shuttles were evacuating The Creek, there was so much death and destruction on the planet side. My AO was about the get overrunned by those fucking Communist Bots. I held my P-4 Senator closely as I had expended my ammunition for R-63 Diligence Marksman Rifle and for the you know, the last call for Democracy aimed at my temple because I was not willing to be captured nor killed by those Communist bots. It was hell on the creek. Remember Reach, Remember Cadia. We will retake Malevelon Creek to honor my brothers and sister who i have lost in the hellish jungle landscape that is the creek. Rememeber Reach, Remember Cadia, Remember The Creek.

@@borger1723 think the devs are struggling with the tick rate and trying to balance it for the number of players. Also think the creek is being used as lore for the main planet of the automoton construction
We never had the Creek. At this point just surround it and cut off its supply lines. I like Creek as much as the next Helldiver, but tactically, it can’t really be taken by force unless the bots give up their offensives.

My sister (Lvl 2) and I (Lvl 8) went to the Creek this morning to get a feel for it on Trivial. I have never screamed at a video game more, and we barely escaped by the skin of our teeth XD
Super Earth commends your victory in the face of certain death helldiver
We get there on 6th difficulty. We thought it would be easy - Blitz mission, get in, blow some junkers, get out...
We managed to get out - only two of us, leaving bodies of our friends behind. We managed to get out even when our destroyers had to leave orbit, due to sheer bombardment from the ground, even when our extraction point was surrounded by hulks, tanks and all other automatons that were countless. Even when our support weapons were dry and empty, our rovers useless and our stims depleted. I salute to that brave Pelican pilot who got us out, even with big AA base right near our point of extraction!
Today we will dive again. For democracy. For cup of Liber-Tea. For Malevelon Creek!

Congrats to teaching those rust buckets about their deep need for MANAGED democracy.
My first drop was draupnir, In my humble opinion the open terrain makes it worse. Least the creek has trees to eat missiles and tank shells.
As a veteran creek crawler myself though remember this. The railgun may be powerful but by god you will wish you had an autocannon at some point especially when surrounded. Make full use of high explosive airstrikes and forget clusterbombs.
Lastly remember you are on Creek hide in the forest and pick your fights you're the cong not the americans
These are my tips to you.
These are words from someone who regularly does helldive threat level drops on creek solo. So ive a decent idea of what im talking about
Fluff aside, what actually happened at the Creek was that most players completely ignored the Automatons at first. That was completely understandable, since the order was to liberate bug planets, so naturally this is where most players concentrated. Only once those players unlocked some higher difficulties and got their fill of fighting bugs did they try fighting the robots for a change.
So you have a new player who has never seen an automaton before dropping into a difficulty 4 or 5 mission and getting completely blindsided because fighting the automatons is completely different than fighting the bugs, and because of all that they get completely stomped. Since the Creek was one of two automaton planets, and the harder one at that, it quickly gained its infamous reputation.
Keep in mind that Malevelon Creek in itself is a generally challenging planet due to how vegetation works in HD2. You will be constantly slowed, obscured, and caught in it if you do not tread carefully. Most players do not make use of vegetation to stay hidden and will instead constantly engage enemies resulting in many skirmishes where they are trapped and unable to put distance between themselves and danger. Also the atmosphere of Malevelon Creek is unique as it is constantly twilight which can also potentially add to the difficulty of the planet.
I think the difficulty of the planet derives both from its reputation & the general approach people take to clearing the planet. A lot of the times the bots are able to make better use of the obstructive flora then the player is if the team is reckless in their engagements. Enemies like cannon towers, annihilator tanks, and rocket devastators will take advantage of out of cover players while being obstructed themselves.
Also from the lore dives I've been doing, I believe the Creek was the home world of the cyborg uprising, who have gone on to become the Automotons, which would also the explain the difficulty. I could be confusing my planets tho
@@ryansarafin12 The cyborg homeworld is cyberstan and hereditarily speaking the Automatons and Cyborgs are not the same, the Cyborgs were banished to work in the mines of cyberstan for humanity. Where or who built the Automatons is unknown as the shipmaster will tell you if you get that dialog line
Bought the game last night, planning to visit the creek when getting home from work
Basic training isn't thorough enough.
They're trying to get bodies into the field so quickly, some skipped it all together.
But we'll educate them.
Combat will educate them further.
But they need to crawl before sprinting... They need to learn their equipment and their tactics.

My first day as a member of the Helldiver Corps... it was dark, it was foggy, chaotic. Nothing at all like the training on Mars...
Of course that's pretty much the way it was for all of us, wasn't it? All that propaganda, all those minutes of training...
it doesn't really prepare you for all the screaming or the blood, does it?
Frankly I'm still amazed we ever made it through the first hour, never-mind the first day.

One of the officers on the super destroyers told me that the cyborgs were sent to work in the mines on Cyberstan after the Galactic war. I looked on the map and Cyberstan is in the galactic north. We shouldn't be surprised if the automatons direct the campaign north.

Admiral of the SES Hammer of Democracy here. After multiple deployments on Malevelon Creek, I see we are hitting our heads against a metaphorical brick wall. So I have headed to the Eastern front, with a plan and a plea for help:
One last planet remains in the Umlaut Terminid Sector- Erata Prime. I am currently rallying with these Helldivers taking over the planet, with a plea. My aid, and once that sector belongs to Super Earth, all these Helldivers fighting there shall come to fight the Automatons. The reinforcements will be great in number, and 50% shall evenly be dispersed among Mort, Pöpli, and Mantes, with the other 50% deploying directly to Malevelon Creek.
Godspeed Helldivers, and Liberty protect you.
EDIT: It’s not going well. Mass of Bile Titans. Casualties passed the critical level yesterday. Erata Prime Liberation has fallen to 15% from the original 68% in only one day.

SES song of iron has been hammering away at Draupnir in an effort to free up troops for creek and has also intermittently been participating in threat level helldive solo ops on creek in an effort to support our forces stationed there.
The only thing more important than holding on to Malevelon Creek...is holding onto the supply lines needed to keep the Creek Front open.

My very first mission was on Malevelon creek for a Rescue mission. I went in Solo and dropped an SOS. Nobody came...

These right here are why this game is so cool. I dropped in to fight robots with a friend for the first time and we got beat to a pulp. The mission turned from liberation to a covert operation. 19 divers were lost.
It was only a challenging mission…
I remember my first drop against them at the launch of the game. It was a disaster. Now, I respond to SOS to fight against the menace.
I was at the massacre.. I’ve never seen such a huge loss of divers. We were running scientist evacs, barely got half of them out.
Been diving the creek since the 16th exclusively. Running helldiver difficulty for the last 2 or 3. Despite the still overwhelming numbers and seemingly endless heavy enemies dropped from clouds of dropships, I feel attached to this place now. I'm not leaving until we can't dive it anymore. These binaric speaking jungles are my home now.

I’m a Veteran Helldiver whom still owns their exclusive cape from a Helldive difficulty against the Cyborgs of the original Galactic War.

I started with the Bugs but I have taken a shine to decommissioning the Automatons of the creek.
I say we decide when the fight is over, not them.

My first hell dive after bootcamp was against the cyborgs. I've barely even fought the bugs, most of my efforts have been against the damn bots.
Me and my squad dropped into The Creek to help stem the rushing tide. We were only playing on medium... I lost count of how many times I ran out of ammo, how many times we finished the primary objectives and blitzed it to extraction due to being overwhelmed... This was supposed to be on the easier end of difficulties, but we had no idea how to deal with the automatons. I'm pretty sure I go into a 100yard stare state just thinking back on then.
We learned our lessons, we adapted to fight the robots better. Then we went back on higher difficulties.
We. Were. Not. Ready.
There was more metal than trees. Hulks, cannons, Annihilator tanks...
10/10 - best game I've ever played xD
My first ever deployment at level 1 was in Malevelon Creek on medium difficulty with only one other level 5 friend. We barely made it to extraction. Only ever fought there since, never been to another planet.
Gonna tell my kids Malevelon Creek was a real place
how hysterical would it be if the only reason the robots are trying to attack in this direction is because they need the terminid oil just to survive and super earth is between them and their true goal? maybe on some dark day when too much territory is lost we'll see automatons and terminids fighting like 2 problems solving each other.
Theres much more going on that relates to the Cyborgs from the first game than we realise. More analysis is to be done

What would be really terrifying if they were trying to run away from something farther away in the reches of space.
@@PatriotJaxAs I see it, the cyborgs were never defeated, we beat the hell out of them in the first game sure - and in their desperation, they started to digitize their consciousness. What we consider "defeated" was more than likely a tactical retreat that couldn't be followed, as thousands of cyborgs uploaded themselves and built new completely synthetic bodies to return with a vengeance.
It's the only explanation that makes sense to me.

What really happened was everyone hates fighting bots with our armor giving no armor rating and the rescue mission was glitched for half the order.
I'm still at the Creek. Every time I leave all I can think about is going back.

I have trama with malevolent creek. First time the boys got me to go there for a hard destroy supplies mission. We destroyed 2 of the 3 silos and with no more reinforcements had 4 minutes to make it across map to ship. I told them to head out without me I’ll manage. Literal seconds before the ship left I managed to take the silo out at the cost of my life.Friend now: It’s almost like you have trama with this mission wonder why?

SES Leviathan of Wrath: first dive was on the creek, the 30th dive was on the creek but the 31st crushed the moral of the squad, we accepted a temporary defeat, we heard the cries for help of those on Erata Prime, we left the creek but vowed to return once Erata was liberated, we've almost won against the bugs, and many of us feel invigorated to return to the creek, to finish what we started and push those buckets of bolts off our planet for good.

My first mission in Malevelon Creek started off pretty good. Taking out automaton factory one after another. We even managed to complete the objective, of course we had small casualties, but that was nothing compared to when we tried to extract. Just waves after waves. We had exhausted all our reinforcements, taking out one Hulk. Two party members died, the other blown up by a jet pack. Another Hulk approached the landing site. I nearly got roasted alive, if it wasn't for Pelcan 1 coming in clutch in the last second. I will never forget my team's unbreakable courage and sacrifice. Rest in peace brothers. May freedom shine brightest upon your graves.

Captain of the SES Hammer of Judgment here. The jungle terrain of the Creek breaks up sight lines which on paper would mean that you have more concealment from the bots, but this advantage applies to the bots as well. I've run into devastator patrols in those cursed woods before by complete accident. The planet is also very geologically active and has numerous tiny volcanoes that are conveniently man-sized. At least two of my predecessors have fallen into such holes, never to be seen again. It is lamentable that the samples they dropped can never be recovered. I must say that the Creek is the real test of any Helldiver wanting to earn their stars. It will challenge your ability to navigate a difficult combat environment, and how fast you can react to unexpected circumstances. If you can survive the Creek, you can survive anywhere.

First bot planet mission... medium difficulty went INSANE
I was so used to the airship dropping simple-ish waves that a WORKING ARMY with proximity mines and security cameras just had me flabbergasted
man i wish i could afford helldivers 2 and help on malevelon creek, technically if you start by going there first and staying there then you'll grow stronger and stronger with each deployment, not only will you be able to challange the automatons but also crush the bugs with the gear/skills you obtain (i don't know how to progression works lol)
for context, i'd need to pay 169zł for it so its not affordable for me rn
I want titles based on achievements. Like, if you contribute a whole percent to a single planets liberation, boom you get the "hero of (insert planet)" title. Would be dope

I joined the war effort 2 days in.
I was privileged enough to go from lvl 0 to lvl 6 fighting the Automaton menace.
Then I was unable to join servers until yesterday.
But I am still having fun! I’m traumatized by flashing red bolts, and still hear the screams of agony of fellow helldivers in my dreams, but that’s par for the course!

My brothers. I must confess that I ignored the call for reinforcements last weekend and remained in the Terminid sector for selfish reasons. And because of my actions countless Helldivers paid the price with their lives. I will not make that mistake again. This weekend I heed the call and join my brothers to take back Malevelon Creek! Ive only fought the bugs twice outside the tutorial. Been fighting the Automatons for the creek a majority of the career. At the point where I don't even look to see what the liberation status is anymore. One day though, I will see this planet conquered but until then I drop once more.
Thing is we’re facing the rearguard of the automatons and terminids the rest of the army is facing the bulk of the enemy at the frontlines
As part of a grand strategy, the SES Patriot of Patriotism was pulled back to Bug Space to secure vital war materiel needed to enhance the super-destroyer arsenal. Once refits are complete, it shall return with even more Democratic firepower than before!
for now I am happy to fall back, but know that we will return and in great numbers and spill oil FOR DEMOCRACY
Hearing sbout the creek is what made me give this game some attention. Learning about Joel and how failed missions can cause a trickle down affect on difficulties as well as Joel having the ability to tip the scale either way is what sold me.
I was on Ubanea (i forget how to spell it) yesterday with my nine year old son and two low lvl randos. I'm currently 26 right now. Thought we'd do an easy medium mission. Apparently there are tanks and towers and unrelentless hordes of enemies that constsntly drop on you in medium.
Though it was hard and the squad barely survived, we cleared the map and extracted. But it was hell.
I spent 3 hours yesterday in this map, it gets intense. So far loving this game.
We must return, we must take it back
My first drop as a green hell diver was on malevelon creek. It was at the start of the initiative, low on supplies and bodies, but there were much less tin cans in kind. We were fresh out of training and ready to preserve what ever noun we held dear. I thought nothing of them, hardly held up to the stories and fear they inspired. Nothing but cheap walking coffins. Fear was not a foreign concept yet I would not use it to describe my feelings that day. Nothing compared to the first bile titan that sent me home on my evac alone
After my leave in the cryopods, I was met with the sky’s of malevelon creek once again. My pride swelled to see the democratic fervor that crowded the upper atmosphere… then we dropped. We went to the place where Fervor died and fear was born. They learned, adapted, and multiplied. The eyes emerging from the tree line, mortars falling from above, the war cry’s turning to cry’s of pain. I barely survived that day, and I will never unbecome it.
Yet despite it all I can not escape my fate as a hell diver, and still look forward to the day I see those sky’s once again. We live, we die, for super earth…

Just bought the game couple days ago and I think the second or third planet I went to was the creek and I loved it. It felt amazing sneaking around with my rifle and stealthily completing missions on level 4-6 difficulty. I'm now finding out my favorite planet to run solo on has some very dark twisted background to it... Rest easy soldiers, may your sacrifices not be in vain, one day.
I've been deployed on Malevelon ever since i got out of training.
I see that planet as my home at this point and hope we'll liberate it at somepoint.
Too bad the bug squishers were too afraid of the bots.

I joined a mission to escort civilians to safety in the Creek. My team and I took on wave after wave, spending precious resources and losing time as we did. The civilians were safe, but we still had other objectives to complete. One by one, the automaton outposts fell, as our reinforcements dwindled. Time ran out. We had one objective left. I told my team to go. Extract. I would hold off the robotic scum to my last breath. I would complete the mission. As the pelican left, the last automaton holdout was reduced to ash. And I saluted my fellow comrades, prepared to take on hell itself if it meant taking back the Creek. I am marooned. Do not mourn for me. Envy me. For I am a Helldiver. And this is my home.

What happened is the memes and popularity of the situation.
Enlistment blew up. Lots of, for lack of a better term, noobs. And a lack of understanding on how to use the resources at hand.
I kinda figured that was the case... The game really got super popular super fast, and the tutorial is a 5 minute cape walk, so no real training for the fresh recruits.
I hate to say it but im starting to prefer fighting the bots over the bugs at this point on high levels. You can blow up drop ships, you can destroy entire large outposts with a single orbit laser, the railgun one shots all but tanks, not as fast movement. The bugs it just becomes a constant scooby doo pannel of everyone running around while 25 hunters try to hump your leg with slowing acid while like 10 chargers and nut bugs just casually trot behind you at your run pace.
My first few dives after basic were to Angels Venture. After getting a handle on things there, we moved to Ubanea, where we encountered the first waves of the bots, after Ubanea was secured, my destroyer redeployed to the Creek. Its been nearly 4 weeks of fighting and dying there, first there were dozens of us, then hundreds, then thousands.
As major orders were related directing our brothers and sisters to resuces elsewhere, we continued the fight, flattening everything in our path be it organic trees, or god forsaken undemocratic automatons.
We dug in our heels, and ripped at the machines with abandon that only a true love of freedom can provide. We fought then tooth and nail, thousands became hundreds, hundreds became dozens, and still we did not falter.
Only when all hope seemed lost, and it appeared even super earth had given up hope of liberty on the creek, did the helldivers of the creek snatch hope from the jaws of defeat.
We continue the fight to this day, we spill oil for super earth on this far flung bastion of hell. We #RememberTheCreek. We will not cease, until liberty is brough to Malevelon Creek.

I ran with some crawlers back when I still was a space cadet. My first deployment on the creek was hell. I had fought the bots before, but nowhere is like the creek every corner on that planet has 4 drop ships on route.
I honestly can't recall any game moment that has united gamers for a common good, but taking back the creek has done just that.
I was there, so long ago. I remember th old war. I was present when the bugs were crushed and placed into regulated facilities, feeding the precious logistics of super earth. I stood tall when the illuminate were pacified, their cold and alien ways replaced by liberty. I was there on Cyberstan, when our flag was raised over the mechanical foe, the socialist oppression brought to an end. I saw it all and yet, it pales in comparison to the threat of the automatons. It is a mere spec when I hear the screams of fellow helldivers as enemy fire rips through their bodies. The siege of Cyberstan is a mere candle to the hellfire that is the Creek. I will never forget the sound of metal on earth. I will never forget the Creek.

I enlisted a few days ago… I naively dropped into the western front on my first dive with a smile yearning for blood. And blood I received. Blood of my brother helldivers and my own. I quickly understood why they call it a helldive. It was hell.
I redeployed to the eastern front to find my serenity shooting bugs… but no matter how many rounds of lead I emptied into those legged freaks the cold steel of the bots haunted me. Those glowing red eyes. The soulless claiming souls. No emotion, no fear. Only death.
After we had lost the creek I felt shame. If only I could’ve mustered the courage to fight on the west we may have never lost the creek.
Today I dove for 14 hours with my brothers across all walks of life. Some chose to speak. Others chose to just shoot. We dove at the creek, for humanity.
Never forget the creek. Never surrender the creek.

I did my first helldive difficulty on the creek. It was emotional roller coaster but managed to take one on them!
I was at Malevelon Creek and... sweet liberty the Incinerator hulks... It was a blood bath. So many divers died. I've never experienced being in a defensive formation be so deftly and completely routed like that. When the incinerators dropped it sent us scattering like roaches away from the flames. We desparately pushed through bushes only to be burnt alive, and those that escaped were cut down, blasted by missiles and artillery, and shot while they tried to deploy reinforce and SOS beacons.
We arrived to extract civillians, but we failed to even extract ourselves. A true travesty for democracy.
Me and my friend went to the creek a week after the massacre. We had to crawl for 5 minutes to avoid the enemy. The scariest thing we've ever done

Creek is fun with the 3 others I have been playing.
We can do 8 reliably, 2 like to all out blitz to main obj just air strikes and sentries galore.
Then the I and the other like to play for side obj's / support.
We will clear the whole map and meet back at extract at roughly the same time .
The only way Im leaving Malevelon is in pieces

This may open up for a hardcore survival like game mode. Where there is no orbital support and instead of extracting you find a somewhat safe area to leave the area, and your primary mode of getting weapons is scavenging them from the battlefield. Also some battle worn survivor skins would be cool.
None of my tutorial buddies made it back alive, ive done 10 tours of my own. I don't even hug emote anymore I cant lose another friend. Spill some fucking oil!!!!! FOR FREEDOM!!!!

As a survivor of The Massacre of The Creek, I've spilled so much oil, blood, sweat and tears that I have little left to give. The voices of all those who have been blown apart or burned alive in us turning the forests to ash and the water black and red stay with me.
Danger close after danger close to down one tank, only for three more to suddenly appear and run their allies down just to kill us. So many cadets have died screaming to endless hoards of chainsaw wielding monsters.
I can never fire enough slugs to stop them from killing my allies. I can't throw enough orbital beacons to hold off the unending metal hoards. 17million have died for this planet, and though I may join them before we ever take The Creek, I'll be sure to make those bastard clankers pay dearly for all that they've taken from me.

Once I got the gear I needed from the bugs and liberated Fenrir III, I started dropping into the creek and brought hell with me.
The stories of what happened at Malevelon Creek are what made me put on the cape. Currently trying to fight off the Bot’s invasion at Ingmar. There giving us hell and the red grass is drowning in blood and oil but liberty willing we will kick them off our world and then hit the Creek to reinforce the Hell Divers already on the ground!

Rookie helldiver of SES pride of audacity. Currently fighting the terminids. I’ll keeping going to gain the strength I need to support my brothers in the fight against the automatons
I usually do missions on "7 - Suicide Mission" when dealing with bugs and I got good enough than me and my squad-mates we can comfortably and reliably survive the map without much difficult, as long as anyone joining is not a downright liability.
I can barely do missions on "3 - Medium" and "4 - Challenging" before getting overwhelmed by a similar amount of enemies than the bugs on "7 - Suicide Mission", even more so when doing the mandatory defense escort where we get shot late on the battle as if 28mins was already passed and only 12mins remaining (The mission itself it a 40mins so the discrepancy cause the automaton to be proportionally more active as it consider the mission that far ahead in term of progress) dropping right into an automaton meat grinder with the enemies much, MUCH more active than they should.
If command could fix the deployment time discrepancy (either make the mission a proper 12mins mission or fix the remaining time at start) then maybe I would be able to make some progress count and not see so many of my comrade fall in vain.
Right now I can only do some quick "1 - Trivial" collecting samples and just hope it is enough.
I am a Helljumper. I want to enlist and aid my Helldiver brothers. But high command has declined me my RIGHT ro defend Super Earth
