Metal Detecting a Small Florida Beach (Awesome Find)

- I was out metal detecting on a small Florida beach when I came across this really cool find! I found a really old coin that had been buried in the sand for years possibly. Not only was the find really cool, but it was also a great reminder of all the different things you can find while metal detecting on a small Florida beach. I have been traveling to different beaches with my Equinox 600 and have been having a blast looking for treasure. This week I went to Turtle beach which has very different as the sand is almost black and not a quartz white like I am used to. My metal detector found a Bicentennial half dollar and that coin is a first for me. I also found a ring on the high tide line.

As others have said, that is a Bicentennial Half Dollar. Check to see if it is an S mint mark. If so, it is Silver Clad and the composition is: Outer layers - 80% Silver, 20% Copper; Center - 79% Copper, 21% Silver

Thanks, I'm just getting started on the beach. Been detecting dirt for years. I bought a stainless scoop for the river but that one looks nice for the beach.
It’s extremely strong I use it in The rivers here as well to dig up sharks teeth and is very light as well compared to others. Welcome to the beach club it’s extremely fun and very rewarding at times.
@@TBMetalDetecting awesome, my gf likes to dig as I detect so light is a big plus. We broke the handle on my ss scoop digging wet sand in Virginia Beach. Quick end to the day.
