Thank you for the video. I followed it verbatim, step by step, and I have a new, fully working door handle in 42 minutes. It went exactly as you showed. Thankfully as I had the handle almost completely fall off and I thought the screw holes for the 2 10mm near the lock had snapped off. Again, thank you. BTW, my handle did not seem to retract all the way by itself, so once off, I gave the entire latch unit a good dose of WD-40. Now it closes up as designed. Spring or whatever is in there must have gotten dirty or just old likes it's owner.
i went to a mechanic shop and they're gonna charge me $300 to replace passeger exterior door handle I think I'm getting ripped off though what do you think
Anyone have an idea why my new handle doesn't retract fully? It has to be pushed back in the last 1/4 inch or so. It's actually the entire old handle, except the plastic lever that broke. It wasn't retracting with the new one, so I tried putting the new lever in the old handle, and got the same results.

My handle came off when I pulled it to open the door. Would this work to reattach it?
Thank you so much for your help.
