Bro that's all that really MATTERS is getting the windows darkened for privacy reasons and to block the freaking heat I actually thought of this same idea while watching another dude spray this shit on the backlights of his car and I'm going out right now to get me a can of this shit to do my windows AND my lights to make my shit look badass, I have a 2005 little Blue 2 door Honda Civic sedan and I just LOVE it but it keeps heating up whenever I'm parked with the a/c on, and I THINK it's got a coolant leak! Might you know the solution or my issue here?😿😿😿😿😿
Definitely like good attitude. If I do this I'd like it done for the back window and maybe not spray on the inside at all and see if it's still dark. You can see better than real limo Tints with this so maybe without the indoor tint it can work good.

I did this same thing to my car and didn't look like shit. It actually looks like real tint from inside and outside. I think people are mad because how he sprayed it but he just doing it for his purpose. I sprayed my window from outside tho

Spray from a further distance and light coats. You can get this stuff to look like actual tint when you do it right.

Done this and it works. Just super light coats from a further distance and repeat 3-4 times works wonders lol I do love dudes attitude

Did the job, well done. Would love to see another example done using
1. Overlapping (spray 1/3 or so overlap on previous line, never allow overlap to quite reach halfway)
2. Much faster stroke for way lighter coats and higher quantity of coats (dries quicker between coats, and evens out the finish significantly)
3. Spray from roughly 10" from the surface (will help with lighter coats, make overlapping easier, and prevents those gravitational collection streaks)
edit - also don't cross-hatch your spray pattern; It seems intuitive that it would look more even but in reality keeping the same stroke pattern ends up looking the most even because it creates less highly contrasted areas by ensuring that the weakest points are still filled in along the same line. The contrast is what looks uneven, retaining stroke pattern prevents that best.

At least this lets other people know what it would look like if they did this to their car/truck on the cheap side. As a tint professional, I really liked this video! Of course it looks bad on the inside but you made it very clear you needed it to serve a purpose and it worked. That CRV back window sucks to tint, most shops would have charged a lot for that. Glad you got a workable result and it looks much better on the outside.
Problem is that you are holding it to close when you are spraying.
Probably has streaks cause you held the can too close.

I certainly agree with your statement... But...
It can be a real hassle to remove car door glass, It might be easier to remove the doors, so you can lay them horizontal.
However, since his stated purpose is to hide his tools in a work truck, removing any glass & taking the risk of breaking some is beyond the scope of what he needs.
Just do a proper masking & spray from further away and do lighter coats seams to be a better plan.

First thing you should always do when spraying coatings out of aerosol cans it's to submerge the cans in hot water for a while to warm them up they will spray much better with lower viscosity

Cheap Nail polish remover worked with such ease it removed black tint window paint in my car with no effort at all no one in all the car mechanics on RUclips even suggest this simple solution

There used to be a product spray on tint. You sprayed a thin layer across the top as it drip down is filled in everything I have been looking for that product I guess they took it off the market it was wonderful you did a good job
This is what I found when I did my T tops on my MR2. Looks fairly good from the outside, but not so much from the inside. People are hating me on my video, but a view is a view. lol.

At first, I was like "naw" but after seeing the end result, you might of invented something. However, I would've used plasti dip so I could remove it later down the road. Good experience.

Nice I might do this to my truck. I found out the rustoleum lens tint actually would work better because it is thicker then vht nightshade. Cool vid though and window tint is hella expensive these days. At least where I live.
Hold the can farther away and mist it on and you won’t get the streaks in it. It’s thick stuff anyway but if you just mist it on there and use more coats you could probably make it look good.

Vht has window tinting spray.
It's not as dark and has a better gloss/clean surface and is more forgiving to spray than night shades

I used spray window tint back in 1993 on my new S10 king cab. It actually turned out great without any runs or lines. It was still doing well when I traded the truck in 1995.
I think it’s bad ass from the outside looking in & protecting your assets here were key-oh & only a small fraction of 4-8 hundred dollars for a normal window tinting job 👍🏼 great video

When done applying the vht nite shades paint do not let Fully cure but wait about 10 mins after last coat and than use a big torch like a plumbers torch and make circles around while window and you will start to see it get shiny and it will smooth and even itself out and than done

You can get a roll of vivid vinyl tint film for like 15 bucks on Amazon and it's good quality even not knowing how to do tinting u can watch a few utube vids and would get a better outcome , I understand u said u new it would look like crap spray tinting windows but just figured I would throw out the option for a good vinyl tint for cheap lol , looks good from the outside though
Tinting film is the only way to go.
You get this to look damn near perfect. You have to decant the cans and spray it from a hvlp gun.

Got my truck done with night shades but the windows done r insulated so it’s black as black. I went all out 10 layers sorta thing 😅 I wouldn’t advise unless u really want black forever. 😅

What’s funny is I worked for FedEx and they would spray the back windows and side windows with black spray paint instead of tinting, the main thing is people couldn’t see the packages inside lol so whatever works

In alberta Canada the law is you can have tint but no film so this is more common then you think in some parts of the world

@@taco4762 In Texas nothing is allowed on the front window except clear uv blocking film. The front windows can't be less than 25% VLT and anything can be done behind the front windows as long as you have side view mirrors and can see 50ft back. You can legally black out everything behind the driver. Different for other states

As someone who has done spraypainting as a day job, that is WAAAYYYYY too close for a can. Do it about 10 inches no less than 8 inches and it's best.

Amazon sells it. Im canadian so i got it at a store called canadian tire. In usa i think autozone might have it
You can make cut out inserts for your windows pretty easily. With some cardboard, black fabric & a stapler but with the cost of those materials you might as well go with this option, especially if you're looking for a more permanent solution.
