but decided to make another explaining some key points I didn't point out in the previous video.
Instructions In the video.
1. Make sure your Chromebook is in developer mode.
2. Remove the screws from the Chromebook and open it to reveal the board
3. disconnect the battery.
4. close it with the lid without putting the screws back on.(put screws back after the process).
5. connect your charger and USB keyboard.
6. switch it on.
7.press ctrl + d.
8.log in as quest.
9.press ctrl + alt + t
10. type shell and press enter.
11. type sudo sh and press enter.
12. type flashrom --wp-disable and press enter.
13.type flashrom --wp-status and press enter.

Hi, I was wondering if my Acer Chromebook C732 will run on its original Chrome OS okay even with write protect disabled. I just ordered this laptop and paid the seller extra to disable write protect thinking it was about to stop getting updates soon. I just got it and discovered that its AUE date actually isn't until 2027! Are there any issues with it continuing on Chrome OS without write protection, or should I re-enable it? Thanks!

I have a hp chromebook 15a-na0010ca and after typing "flashrom --wp-disable" it says : "hardware Status registre protection is enabled. The chip's WP# pin must Be set to an inactive voltage level to Be able to change the WP settings"
Did you disconnect the battery?

I watched the video you shared. On the motherboard the is WP on it. Check if there is a flat screw at the place the WP is located.

found no write protect screws and disconnected my battery yet whenever i try to run --wp-disable it always says failed....what to do?
i checked the flashrom/me page and checked out some links that were there but i'm very tech illiterate and couldn't understand a thing...
i tried to send the exact error code i got but youtube detected it as spam, any way i could send it to you via email or something?

You have to enable developer mode first
After writing flashroom --wp-disable
Sh: 1: flashroom: notfound
Put it into developer mode 1st
