What you did on the lip of the wheel well was cool. Adding material to the surrounding area to make sure you don’t go down too far

I'm over here stressed about the run I gotta fix but damn... good shit man.
Was putting on the 2nd coat of clear all was good when I suddenly tripped on the hose and I pulled the trigger. I'm sure you can imagine my disappointment in myself. I've only had months of "training" till I was left alone. I do all the paint and body here. I've done body alot longer then paint so I've been stressed about it. Trying to be calm and shit. I appreciate the video.

Hello I like this video very informative I have some ? How much pressure did you apply with 1000 grit and how long was you using that same grit before you went on to the 1500 grit thank you I would like to see other methods of getting runs out in the future love the video
You don’t have to apply much pressure rather just let the sand paper do the work...just continue to check your work until you reach the results you want before switching over to the next grit of sandpaper

Great work! How long do you let the clear coat dry before you start working on it?
Thanks I appreciate that... I personally let the clear dry 3 days to a week depending on what clear I’m using but there is multiple ways of getting the clear to dry and in most cases to get the best results it’s best to read the label or tech sheet on proper procedure for that clear. I gave it a day or two…it depends on the clear on when you can start cutting the clear

I have repainted my car a month ago, will this method work on this, secondly the same process for the fisheye issue?
This method should work for you as far as the runs but it really depends on how much clear you have on your car to be able to sand out the fisheyes
I lve your videos and the fact that you show how to use tools that the diy'r would tend to use. With the runs, I was wondering if you think using a razor blade or one of the paint run tools out there would make the job go quicker?

Yeah those tools would work and a razor could work also and I have used those methods I just find this method is what works for me

@@kevinkordzi337 they work but you risk causing more damage than the runs so whichever technique you use you just have to use caution
What causes the runs ?
The painter not moving quick enough with the passes?
Could be moving to slow and too much material builds up in that spot, could be the temp that you’re spraying at and the temp of the car, could be the reducer/hardner that’s being used that doesn’t have the materials drying fast enough which could cause a sag…could be your fan pattern not wide enough for the distance you’re spraying at…I hope this helps and makes sense to you RZA77
how long does the clear have to dry before you can sand it like that?
All clear isn’t the same so it could be next day or it could be a week...it really depends on your process. It can vary if you’re in a shop setting with a paint booth that bakes the paint or if you’re in a garage/home setting and you let the clear air dry but it’s always good to go off of the manufacturer recommendations to play it safe...I hope this helps and if not let me know and I’ll do what I can to help out

Hey bro I painted my car like a month ago and now I've got runs in it I noticed is it going to be okay to start with a thousand to go up to 2,000 and Buff? I'm going to wet sand and buff the whole car anyway I think I got too much dirt in it.. any advisor suggestions would be much appreciated I'm a student of auto body collision
You can start at 1000 to cut your runs and step up to 1200 to 1500 to 2000 if you like but it really depends on how much material you have on your car so you want to be mindful of that so that you don’t cut through your clear then have to do any paint repairs
@@UndergroundPaintKing yeah I don't want to do any paint repairs I ran out of clear coat so there's two thick coats of clear on it. My air regulator was broke on my gun and I didn't have the right air pressure and I'm still learning. Yeah I probably won't go lower than 1,000 thanks for the help man I really appreciate it.

How about just respraying clear coat over the sanded run instead of polishing?
You could do that if you get the run out completely

How Manny coats of clear u got on there?? Lol it's deep!! U got alot of room to correct but that's smart. So basically if we clear it thick we can overcome a sag or run
It was 2-3 coats and yes you definitely want enough material on there to correct any issues but this was a little over board lol

@@UndergroundPaintKing I tried Wizards and I burned an edge or two. Now I use CSI. Clearcoat Solutions Inc Ceram-X. It's just one product with 2 pads you use. Wonderful stuff.

Dude from my experiences its just eazyer to just block it down with 600 wet and just re clear .those are scary waterfalls on there bro they will never be all the way gone if you buff um . Not trying to diss you or anything bro im just simply telling the truth, but its your job and you know what your doing . What gun do you use for clear ? I use a iwata hvlp 400 with a 1.8 flued neddle but it all depends on what clear you use too . One thing that took me a long time to relize if you read an fallow the tec info sheet on the products it saves a lot of of time dealing with lil hickups you run into .
