Cutting and buffing a 1987 Box Chevy Caprice LS Brougham that I just painted. I'll show you how I color sand clear coat runs and orange peel to achieve a show quality finish. I'll take you through all the steps from sanding with the DA with 1500 grit, 2000 grit to 3000 grit. The final steps is using the Harbor Freight Digital Chicago Electric 7 in 10 Amp Heavy Duty Variable Speed Buffer / Polisher to apply the compound and polish....any questions feel free to ask SprayWay.

@@SprayWayCustoms I have a question I'm about to order my paint I'm painting a box Chevy do you think one candy kit is enough or should I order another Court kit
TRAY way if you painting the jambs you should order another quart kit
@@SprayWayCustoms okay so I'm just going to order a gallon kit and a motorcycle kit

Thanks for the compliment
You've done an amazing job on this car!! All the extra effort and pride that you put in to it is showing. Whoever owns this car will be proud to drive it, I'm sure.
Yes indeed. Thank you
All the little details add up, most guys barely do it right, if they even manage that much. It's nice to see pride in someone's work.
Thank You 😊 Def ect
She's absolutely stunning bro
Thanks Eric
Deadly man. I’m almost finished painting my car and now I have to learn how to cut n buff. Iv done my whole car to your instruction in your videos. Keep up the great work
Thanks man..sure will
Awesome buff job Sprayway... I've never seen a painter brave enough to wet sand all the crevices and edges and run a buffer on them they always stay away from those parts of the car... Awesome work once again....
I was at first until I got a fill of it. That's why I always start out on a flat surface on the lowest rpm...plus it pays to be the one who painted the car to know exactly how much clear on it. Thanks KC BILL
You are very talented you do damn good work you push me to want to definitely go into my passion as a painter God bless You
Go for it. It's a good trade
i was in welding school in 1995 body shop was next door go tech school helped me a lot. at that time i paid 100.00 per quarter heard it is over 6k to go to the same school .trying to paint my rims on a old 1997 f150 i been sand blasted them and now ready to go to paint store .thank you for your vids
Thanks man...I attended back in 1997 myself
Looking good brother came out nice
Thank you Pharraway
You were smart going lightly on the ridges on the hood avoid burning through the edges, nice job good content thanks!
Thanks John
Watching and learning 👍
Great
I have painted some jobs lately.. The last few jobs have came out great... Thank you for your video's, most of my painting success has come from watching your videos... Keep them coming brother..
You are so welcome!
Great video, thank you for showing us how to cut and buff. Cant wait to see it finished.
Ok. Thank you
Your Technical Skills have improved over the years. I enjoy your videos
Thanks Arturo
I haven't finished watching but I'm enjoying the vid 👍
Thanks
Your Are The Man Thanx SparyWay! Im always gaining better understanding with your techniques and style of teaching. After combing thru many YT vids on auto body and painting, im always coming back to your vids for my learning needs, your the Best my Man. I'm always coming here for anything auto body and paint from now on, you have my sub. I painted my hood today after learning from you, came out good! Thank you for what you do.
Great to hear that Glenn 🤝
Crazy I was on ya page lookin for this last night I don’t take no one advice but yours lol gtta obs n box I’m working on now working on paint booth
Thanks. Do you have any vids posted of them?
9/10 folks giving advice, shouldn't be. You can tell when a mf knows what he's talking about just as easy as it is to smell a bullshitter. Wish I had advice this good years ago, would have saved a lot of headaches.
Post some vids of your work if you can Lequon 👍 I've made some pretty effective spray booths with just 2x2 frame, plastic, and windows fans with furnace filters (with other filter mediums). Even a shit spray job can look pro with the same cut/polish techniques in this vid. Good luck to you
Speachless how beautiful that car came out, love to see the sanding blocks to wet sand ,thats how you achieve that straight mirror shine, some people use sandpaper on the hands🤦🏽🤦🏽and have a whole ocean of waves.you did that bro frfr, much props...
Much appreciated
Been following your process thus far and I gotta say AMAZING. Love the color too. Very nice.
Thanks for following and staying tuned
Admiring your skilz’s and I’m looking into doing my own paint project. Thanks

You're so talented. Thank you for making these awesome videos. I owned an auto detailing business for a few years. You did a phenomenal text book example. I admire your level of expertise, not being lazy along the way then expecting a pro outcome.
Much appreciated Mitchell
Another wonderful job by this young humble brother blessing to him in everything he does keep up that good work bro.

@@SprayWayCustoms I learn so much from here and I am slowly slowly taking opportunities to get near my motors with some paint some filler some sanding and some buffing in little little jobs.
Soon god willing I will tackle a whole car.

Class in session 👌🏾
Good looking Steve. How's everything going with you and the fam?
SprayWayCustoms still waiting to close on this house 🤦🏾♂️ we’re good tho bro, thanks for asking
No problem Steve. I be seeing you active in the comments but you haven't posted in a minute.
I noticed the reflection from the lights inside the shop actually made it look dull from this View, and then when you took it outside, the head-on reflection made it look dull again and I was like wow I don't like that paint job, not as shiny as the rest of your other paint jobs, and then right at the very end, you put the sun behind you and that was the only time I seen the awesome job shining beautiful. Awesome.
Yes, those pearls did look dull under certain light
always top notch work
Thanks
The Man is so Good ,never complain .He make anything work.Stay Blessed forever!

Thanks Eddie. This the best part of the job..putting everything back together
It's awesome, I've been following this series and your work is outstanding, nice to see somebody who takes pride in what they're doing.
One short question: under what circumstances would you sandblast a car to start with?
If the entire car needed to be totally stripped down to bare metal, I would. Thanks
Unless the car needs a lot of rust repair you shouldn't need to. Just sand all the gloss out of the paint, if it's dull when it's dry you're good. Then bodywork and prime any bare metal or body filler then base/clear
Hawaii, Alaska gives thanks for these VLOGs
Thanks for the support 🤝
The master teacher
Thanks
SprayWay you got me fixing up my Excursion the right way at home. A previous owner somewhere down the line had some pretty crappy bodywork done. They masked everything on the car, so the clear is peeling all around the windows and gas tank. I took everything apart, sanded it all back, based, cleared, and now I'm here for the next step. Thanks!
That’s what it’s all about…motivating one another
My boi dropping again I’m up next yall
We ready to see Ruby in the booth
I'm waiting on Ole Ruby
SprayWayCustoms think I’m just gonna have to drive it and say forget U-Haul trailer still can’t find one 🤦🏾♂️
Love the color it looks like the exact color I had on my 1986 Box Chevy low rider I would love for you to paint my 1996 Fleetwood Brougham LowRider Cadillac I’m in Los California I appreciate great work continue to motivate brothers like myself and with your gifts God bless Champ
Thanks Damone
Hay Spray Way your videos has helped my shop in tremendous ways thanks. Got a question a customer gave me some single stage metallic pearls I heard it's hard to spray?
And if so can sand it down and clear over it?
Thx
Single stage paint has the clear already in it right?
@@chrisg1364 Yes it does you can even mix it with clear. But I'm trying to shoot metallic pearls and they reflect light differently because they stand up in the paint with light hitting them at different angles if you wet sand the metallic pearls the paint looks dull so I'm thinking clear coat could wake them back up if any problems were to occur.
Yes you can shoot clear over it with no problem
@@jerryjordan4533Single stage metallic/pearl paints are difficult to get consistent due to pearls/flakes settling, even after thoroughly mixed. You can add matching pearl to clear and clear over single stage for uniformity. Single stage has a longer cure time but can also be cut & polished after such with a bit more finesse than you would 2k paints, urethanes, etc. Some guys using waterborne paints will layer pearls/flakes using various intercoat clears before top coat.
@@jerryjordan4533 that was a good question. I bought sum paint like that for sum mirrors i made. I was told once i sprayed it by paint shop that i couldnt clear over it. Sooo after sprayed my mirrors 1 had a run. Waited for it to dry and i sanded mirror back down and resprayed the whole thing. I should have just fixed the run then shot clear on it. That's why we got Spray Way!! Always here to help!!
As always great video great advice and great tips Car Looks Great
Thanks Joe B
Can you do a video on how you put the headliner in after cutting the ceiling for the sunroof? Nobody ever shows how to do the headliner after adding a sunroof.
I plan to do a vid on it. Stay tuned

Excellent as always sir! that's that showcar finish there. so much different that doing collision repair production. people wonder why show car paint is 10 grand or more...this is why. the attn to detail involved.
Yes it it is a lot of time and labor in it. Thanks 🙏
Wonder what kind of shoes he gone put on it🤔🤔🤔🤔?
Not real sure
Watching you is like watching a episode of Power!!!! What you gone do next?!?! And you always bless us.
Thanks Puerto Rico77. I gotta keep the suspense 👍🏾
You just prove to everyone that you don't need to make a 100% paint job , you can make mistakes and still make your car 100% , looks like a showroom paint job
Thank you sir
So just keep buffing until the compound is gone? Lost audio a few times
Great video. Shows that you don’t need flashy editing and gimmicks. This hobby/profession is awesome because what you see is what you get. After learning on my own and repainting my own car, I can attest that there are no shortcuts to getting a show-car finish in the end.
You're exactly right Justin. Greatly appreciate the support
Just cut and polished my first ever garage paint job. Looked really good after the clear if you're REALLY into orange peel. Watched your video about 10x and you gave me the courage to try this. Car looks amazing and the way the paint feels by comparison... wow. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! (More sanding, less buffing. Best tip ever!)
