I bought a brand new Chevy Cruze in 2012 and I’ve had major repairs pretty much every 10k miles.

8 9 10 speeds trans are not good or needed. Put a real engine in the car and a 4 or 5 speed trans and they will last if you maintain them properly

I brought a second hand vauxhall agila b. Its a rebadged Suzuki Splash in the UK. Major repairs in first two years. Clutch with gearbox side arm. Abs pump. Which needs coding at the dealer even though i brought it brand new. Car had 18k when i brought it now has 36k and is due for a gearbox oil change and coolant change. 😮. The engine though no issue with 5k changes.

2019 Ford transit connect, bought new, had under 90,000 miles. I would have kept it but…Transmission started rough shifting after warm up, mechanic said it was cooked, quoted me $11,000 for a new trans. I said Nope! Sold it as is to Carvana. Went back to Toyotas.

I have a 1997 Ford F350 7.3 powerstroke with over 260,000 on it and I am just now starting to replace injector cups, oil cooler and o-rings.
I know people with newer cars with less than 80,000 miles on them and they are having to do major repairs.
