      Don't worry it's really easy to mess the flip up, check that you are selecting every single thing related to the eye, layers and warp deformers, if you miss something, the eye might flip on the same spot and not reposition itself on the other side of the face. Also! when you do the right flip the pupils are going to be messed up, so you gotta flip them again but this time only the pupils, nothing else. Hope that helps!

    This is my go-to video for this topic!
    But I've a question for you: for eyes like yours, where there appears to be a single color shape, are eyelids necessary for drawing and rigging? Assuming no pupils inside the eye, could you instead just have a shape like a circle that then deforms to the appropriate open or closed shape instead? or are eyelids a necessary part of the process for other reasons?

    This tutorial is good. but one thing made me confuse is how did the iris disappear after squishing the sclera? does this have to do with the layers? Edit: Oh I get it. It is the clipping mask. Thanks!😁

    Whenever I reflect it, it doesn't flip in the intended position. Despite deleting the rotation deformer, it still reflects too close to the other eye.

  • @Eveezs

    This is so helpful!!
    I have a question.. if I already established, for example, a parameter up to "1", how can I add another after it? for example "1.5", or "2".. I was doing a scared look but I wanted to do another one with a smaller pupil and that would be like 'above' what I already made.

    I love your tutorials! I'm making my first model right now, but I ran into a problem. I'm at the eye duplicating part, but every time i try to copy my first set of eye parts, i end up creating a "Deformer of Position adjusting" along with them. At first i tried to delete it to match yours, but then it wouldn't reflect at all, but even when I left it in, it doesn't go all the way to the other side of the head, and even worse, i lose control of the iris' and can't move them with the XY angle menus anymore. Thankfully everything else still seems to work though, i.e. head tilting, eye closing, etc. Any idea on what i should do?

  • @3v1l73ddy
    @3v1l73ddy Год назад +1

    If you copy the second eye at this stage then do all the expressions and want to duplicate them is it possible to delete the copied eye and copy it again with the new animations? Or will doing that mess things up? Part of why I ask is in case I decide to have an expression later on that I didn't think of at first.

    • @Inkugaki_Live2D
      @Inkugaki_Live2D  Год назад

      yes! is totally posible, some times I don't bother trying to animate twice so, I erase the copied eye again and duplicate the one I have everything else on!

  • @milkcanfan97
    @milkcanfan97 2 года назад +1

    I cant thank you enough for these concise tutorials. But I do wonder: if a model has beady eyes with no visible schlera and a separate part for the closed eyelash, is it possible to rig it to show up or should i edit the eye to turn into the closed eyelash and discard the separate closed eyelash?

    • @Inkugaki_Live2D
      @Inkugaki_Live2D  2 года назад +1

      I'm glad you found them useful!
      If I understood correctly, the open and close animation would be similar to a frame by frame (one frame/layer open and one frame/layer closed) If that's the case, then yes it is posible!
      The difference would be on the keyform arrangement to avoid opacity overlays, in between the open and closed layer.
      Try making one of them disappear before the other one shows then play with the keyform timing on the "eye open parameter" and hopefully you would have the result you're looking for!

    • @Inkugaki_Live2D
      @Inkugaki_Live2D  Год назад

      as far as I know, it matters only with your layer and warp deformer organization, so you know which one is which. BUT if for some reason Vtube studio tracks the "wrong eye" you can always change the eye's parameter input on Vtube Studio!

    Hi! I'm new to rigging - if you duplicate the eye does that mess with the previously assigned XY parameters? I'm still a little unsure of the order of operations

    • @Inkugaki_Live2D
      @Inkugaki_Live2D  Год назад

      Hi!, the X and Y parameters should be on a warp deformer containing all the eye parts, If you dup the eye, make sure to dup the X and Y Warp deformer as well so your duplicated eye is not in the same warp deformer as the original one, that way you'll have an easier time flipping the corresponding parameters! hope that helps 😄

    I have one question though: Is all of this possible with the free version? ;3

    • @Inkugaki_Live2D
      @Inkugaki_Live2D  2 года назад +1

      Hi, you’re welcome! (^▽^)
      There are some big differences between the free version and paid version.
      The free version is going to limit you in the amount of Tools, Parts, Parameters, File Size and a bunch of more of stuff that might become necessary when creating more complex Vtuber models or animations.
      All the paid versions have all the features. It doesn’t matter which license you buy.
      THANKFULLY, there is a 45 day trial that comes with all the features of the Pro version! So if you want to make a Vtuber model, I’d recommend designing it first and prepare the psd file before downloading Live2D and getting the trial.
      If I were doing this same model on the free version, the file size would be of less quality and the problem is that some animations later would be much more limited.
      You can check the full comparisons here: www.live2d.com/en/comparison/
