It’s been a little while since I’ve flown due to life getting in the way but it’s around 230-250 ish for a 1 hour flight plus the landing fee. Instructor fees are in addition to that but honestly cannot recommend GFC enough My instructor has been absolutely incredible from day 1 and has given me the push I needed into pursuing commercial flying Happy to answer any questions I can
Great video, as usual, Jon. You just about flew right over my house there - we're a couple of miles west of Ardmore Point! Very tempted to visit the guys at Glasgow Flying Club to give this aviation thing a go!
Thanks Jon! As one of your other followers commented, I have also been inspired by your videos to get revalidated (as you know!). Best of luck with everything, beautiful scenery and great vid as always. Stu
Missed this one Jon. I've only landed in Oban once but it wasn't at the airport!! EGPF is my local field and got images of a V-22 just recently holding Erskine Bridge
Congrats on the the CRI 🍾🍾. Thanks partly to your inspiration, I have recently renewed my lapsed SEP and am just starting my IRR. I have been mulling over a CRI and so a video about obtaining one and what you have done with it would be great to see.
Another great video, Jon! Particularly so in this case: I did all my training out of Glasgow International, so it was fun to see you navigating through the surround area. My first solo nav' was to Oban too (what a beautiful airport!). As my day job, I send out the air ambulances that had your clearance amended... sorry! ;)
Congratulations Jon on getting your Flying Instructor . It’s a pity you’re not here in Australia , I could certainly use you at the moment . Cheers and my best wishes .
With reference to your next video, should your engine need a shockload, they'll open it up and tell you that you need an overhaul. Don't ask how I know!
Jon, perhaps you might tell us the story as to how you got into flying and more importantly why you fly. Personally, its head space for me, “if in doubt zoom out” up in the sky I zoom out from all the chaos and troubles in this world. Also, because flying requires constant attention and discipline and good judgment at all times, I serious believe and feel that when i fly and because of the professionalism demanded in flying that I am a better person all round. It positively impacts many other areas of my life. I feel i and a better person, better driver, make better decisions on the ground in daily life and work.
Fantastic video Jon and I may well take you up on your instruction offer after Christmas in the spring as I'm not a million miles from you down here in Maresfield nr Uckfield!
Brilliant Jon and congrats on the CFI. Next stop LHR to exercise your IR privileges 😂😂😂😂. PS. The Edinburgh flying club (alas now defunct) was the oldest UK flying club.
Excellent video as always Jon. One question: at 4:12 the PF doesn't seem to have their hand on the throttle, or even anywhere near it. Is there a reason for that?
I’m learning to fly with Glasgow Flying Club at the minute, currently 15 and a half hours in. Loving every minute
Keep it up.
@chris I am about to start trying to decide on Glasgow flying club or leading edge at Glasgow airport . Can I ask what the price like for lessons

Very enjoyable, Jon. It’s a tough life but someone’s got to do it!!! Keith

Thanks David. I really need to visit Australia some day before I'm too old to withstand the long haul flight.
@@TheFlyingReporter Take IV over there
Amazing video and landing!

Thanks Douglas.
The audio quality from the radio in that TB10 is very crackly! - is that normal for that aircraft?
Danny looks like he could benchpress the King Air!
Like the channel…….
A lot to take in so huge respect to you…. Radio a bit crackly…..lots of instructions….😀
16:14 looks llike 2 ARFF boats and a slipway in case of overruns into the water ?
For interest John.. how much is the landing fee at Glasgow ?
£44 I’m currently paying per landing at GLA
Excellent video as always Jon. One question: at 4:12 the PF doesn't seem to have their hand on the throttle, or even anywhere near it. Is there a reason for that?
Yes. PF is a Wally!
Rosetta Uber Alles
All the radio communication ruins this. Dreadful .
