My wife says I'm a child, does that mean I need an adult when I need to charge my batteries?
Absolutely
This comment lmao😂
@@eddydiyartcraft6780 its suposed to be funny ??
i guess
@@sgt.miningdrill2680 no. She says I'm her oldest child 😞. It's ok, I promised my self I would never grow up so now I'm a 42 yr old Kid with adult money.
Didn't know after 3 years to dispose of lipo batteries. Learn something new every day thanks matt.
That is a bad tip. airsoft batteries are generally hardly used compared to like the ones in your cellphone. They are going to last far longer.
They say 3 years because that is about 1 charge cycle per day, which is in line with the average charge cycle rating for lithium batteries.
Great tips. Also reminder that a fireproof container could be anything metal walled, including a pot or trash can
That three year tip.....good reason I've been getting some NIMH batteries less to worry about
You know what, that's just too much trouble for me. 8Fields makes great NiMh batteries, the only thing you have to remember when using those is to charge them before every game.
I've recently built an LCT G3 2J DMR, runs fine on an 8Fields 9.6 NiMh, no need for a fire hazard.
Storage charge for a lipo cell is about 3.85v so if it’s a 2cell lipo (7.4v is written on it) it should have about 7.7v. A fully charged lipo cell is 4.2v so fully charged your 7.4v lipo will be at 8.2v.
If a lipo cell drops below 3v it can be damaged.
This is why a balance charger is the safest bet as it monitors each cell of the battery.
Ok there is a misconception SOMETIMES where a battery becomes round and it is mistaken for swelling. Some batteries are wrapped in heat shrink tubing and if a battery gets warm outside or something like that the tubing can shrink and contract on the battery over time making it appear round. In this case the battery is fine and can still be used. Don’t mistake this and puffy battery though. Check your batteries voltages and always charge and use it with caution
At Point 7, most site write, you should store your lipo not fully charged our you shorten the lifespane of the lipo. Most charger have the function Storage, that should be enough.
For chargers with a 'Storage' function, yes, absolutely you should put them at a voltage optimal for storage.
However, if all you have is a basic charger, storing charged is your best option.
Thanks Matt and evike team
Thanks! I needed this
Good Advices! Thank you!
Kinda new to airsoft but how often should charge a LiPo? How long do they last? How do I know if it’s full? And just questions like that
- You should only ever charge a LiPo battery with the correct type of charger. These LiPo chargers will automatically stop charging the LiPo when it is full (often there will be an indicator light when the battery is done charging).
- Keep the LiPo topped up when not in use, to prevent the voltage from getting too low.
- If you have an advanced charger, you should read the instructions thoroughly. Advanced chargers can be made to put LiPo batteries into a 'storage' mode (a specific voltage) which will prolong the life of the battery if it's sitting unused.
- The lifespan of a LiPo battery depends on a lot of things, but every three years or so it's a good idea to swap out for new ones. Use your best judgement and never hesitate to ask questions. You can contact us directly if you like.

Note: if storing in an ammo box make sure it isn't air tight and has holes or else the pressure from the exploding lipo inside might make the ammo box explode
Unlikely unless you have a very large lipo that is nearly fully charged, and even then it’s unlikely
@@opairsoft8100 better safe than sorry
@@n8taing612 its still not possible, the pressure that would be needed can’t just come out of thin air. Only real way would be if the outside air pressure basically disappeared thus causing the force of air from the inside to overpower the outside pressure. Or if battery’s actually truly exploded, which they don’t in this size.
@@opairsoft8100 I mean, how do you explain this? ruclips.net/video/K8MQCatbxSY/видео.html

Question: am I able to store multiple lipos in one lipo safe bag?
Yes
Question: What's the difference between LiPo and Li-Ion? Which one is better?
Li-Ion will be more energy dense than Li-Po (more mAh in a similar size), so they will typically last longer for any given size of battery.
Li-Ion is more stable, and not as susceptible to damage from impact because of steel-cased cells. Also usually have a longer lifespan and are more forgiving in terms of discharging.
Li-Ion batteries are a bit bulkier than Li-Po, however.
@@evikecom that's the drawback of using Titan batteries, I love em, cherish em, but they just can't fit into a small car-15 handguard nor in the dust cover of my upgraded E&L AKM so I opt for a LiPo instead.
After I got a titan I stopped using lipos all togehther. Titans last 3 to 5x longer I can charge it once and be good for 2 or 3 full game days compared to lipos that die by lunch lol
Titan?
What Lipos are you using that die by lunch? Lol.
I have 2 different 11.1v 1200 and 1300 mAh, Valken and another I forgot brand name atm, and they have already last 2 game days, amd still have juice.
Is it alright if my smart charger partially discharges the lipo to return it to a storage charge?
If your charger has a discharging function, and you follow the instructions of your charger, you should be alright.
Do you want to put lipo batteries in a safe container(lipo safe bag) when going to the field?
Yes. Always be on the safe side.
10: Buy a LiPo Warner/Buzzer. They cost just a few bucks and will alert you when the voltage gets near critical low.

"use common sense" he says... whelp, we're screwed.
Any suggestions on storage % of your lipo? Is it fine to just charge full and leave it a few months? Where I live we go about 4 month's without playing airsoft because heavy winters.
From rogershobbycenter.com/lipoguide - "For the longest life of the batteries, LiPos should be stored at room temperature at 3.8V per cell. "
Thank you Evike
@@evikecom he clearly informs you to store them fully charged lol
But I can discharge li-ion batteries with a discharger? Like if my charger has that function?
You dont need to, lithium ion are perfectly safe to keep charged
@@Ksolidey Yes, and if the charger itself has a discharge function specifically for it, then it should be safe. I believe the discharge warning is related to other non-Airsoft dischargers. Just any industrial or commercial dischargers with an plug that fits
I would argue that you should discharge your battery in a bucket of salt water for a week or 2 before taking it to a recycling centre.
I am literally trying to understand all aspects of lipo battery's and wiring this is Krazy i feel like evike is watching me🤔🤔
LiPo's aren't so scary if you're not a dingus
We need an airsoft benelli m4 semi auto shotgun,or an mpx in aeg/gbb
AEG mpx full steel 11.1 titan gate DSG maple leaf crazy jet barrel prowin hop up unit and 60rd midcaps would be epic.
Good tips!
Question: is their people out there that only use nimh batteries instead of lipo?
Yeah, I think I’m better off using the double bar batteries that came with my m4 and just use some tape for my krytac kriss vector. I’m a battery expert but even the Lupo battery scares me
If your using an auto stop charger then do you still have to be present and take it out when it’s fully charged?
You should always be present in the event that something happens during charging. Just because the charger stops automatically doesn't mean you should ever leave your batteries unattended.
Im new to having lipo batteries and need advice.
I just got a basic tenergy tn267 charger yesterday. I just learned about how important it is about discharging and placing it in storage mode. I play airsoft about 1-2 times week this (winter break). In college I won't be able to play airsoft for about 2-3 months. Would it be safe to replace the charger with an advanced charger to place it in storage mode for the 2-3 months? Instead of storing the battery when fully balanced/charged? Also often should i charge my battery? Im afraid of the battery exploding when its in storage for too long. (I also have an ammo box for battery storage)
Good questions!
You should charge your lithium batteries every six months to keep them 'fresh'. Putting them at a storage charge while you're not playing is an excellent idea. Also keep the ammo can away from other flammable materials, just to be extra safe.
So far it sounds like you're doing everything right!
Let's say you fully charge the lipo and do some plinking for half an hour, stop...and put the batt into storage mode on the advanced charger, is it then safe to recharge it back to full on the next outing ? Cheers
Yes. It sounds like you're doing all the right things.
@@evikecom thanks for the reply 🙏
So lipos are basically the Mogwai of batteries...
Is it normal to charge lipo battery full every week?
I just fully charged my LiPo battery to 12.7V. Any tips on how to discharge it to storage level? I don't want to keep on firing just to lower the charge
Should have watched this before trying to charge a new LiPo battery on my old NiCh charger lol 🔥🔥🔥
How do i do a “storage charge”
How long should I leave it on charger
Is it a bad idea to leave a li po battery plugged into your gun for days? What can happen? I did that and now my gun won't shoot
Do not leave your LiPo battery plugged in. This may drain the battery to depletion and ruin the battery.
Li-Pos still scare the piss outta me, but it seems simpler than I thought
can i store mine in a yeti cup i just got them and dont have all that fancy stuff
Do you need to discharge them? I'm worried about getting a battery now
No do not discharge your LiPo batteries. Use a lipo charger to keep them at or above their storage charge when not in use.

Does a Titan Power 11.1v 3000mAh 16C Nunchuck Type Li-Ion Battery (Connector: Small Tamiya) fit in a g&g cm16 srxl?
Yes.
I have a lipo battery and when I used it in my airsoft gun after around 60 shots it started to get a bit warm is this normal?
This is common, but not ideal. Contact tech@evike.com for assistance.
@@evikecom ok thank you for your help 🙏
for this reason (flammable) idk it scares me I think Ima go co2 we 1911 instead of cz61 for first secondary
How much caution would I have to use if i have a smart charger
Still use all the proper equipment and caution when dealing with LiPo batteries.
@@evikecom thank you
What happens is you overcharge a battery
It would probably metaphorically burst at the seems with energy. Voltage in general is something you want to watch with AEGs. If it survives overcharging it can damage your rifle. Specifically the sector gear and triggers suffer from a powerful battery (again if the battery survives). It can make the sector gear (the one pulling the piston) to spin so fast it punches the piston on it's way back. Happened to my first gun. Combined with a room in my house that was particularly cold on the cold winter night before.
What's recommended age to buy one?
18yr and older to purchase an airsoft replica
Rule 10, when it puffs up, throw it into a fire and run for a small and cool fireworks show
This is not advisable
@@evikecom is correct
Use sand for disposal until you find a safe place that is legal to dispose of it
Discharging them and soaking in a bucket of salt water is also recommended after you're certain it's discharged. Maybe start with the sand after discharging then salt water. TX51 suggests 2-3 weeks in the bucket before disposal.
Lmao literally pulled out my lipo for tomorrow and was thinking about watching a video like this 😅😅😅😅😅
why i don't use lipos
Why they using a Titian battery, it's lithium ion?
I was wondering the same thing
Because even Lipos are Lithium Ion too. They have the same exact risks and care requirements, only that the cells have metal casing that help protect them.
shoot, my battteries are around expiration... noooo~
I'm too irresponsible for Lipos. I'll just buy a 9,6 NiMH,

The #1 easiest rule to follow is to just avoid lipo. 18650 li-ion battery packs work just as well and are much safer, as long as you have the space to fit the battery.

Tip number 7 is misleading. Experts say not to store a lipo battery fully charged but you say to store it charged. Perhaps specify how charged it should be before storing. As it stands, tip number 7 could cause a lot of problems for teens watching this video.
